samorobo: All these project is built by china..and in less than a decade china will neo colonise you and control the little that you have all because kenyatta signed that damn deal...so sad
We too have them,I was just showing you reasons why those programmes exist. They wouldn't exist if we didn't have poor and hungry country men, think for a minute!
Johncables402: My friend , I said stop making silly excuses. Your drought is nothing unique in Africa, other parts of Africa have seen hard times because of it , but none are showing ribs like you. Why is Kenya story so unique ?. Stop being lazy and voting for a selfish family .
The UK, USA and many other developed nations have feeding programmes , only starving nations like Kenya are left behind on such programmes because they are broke .
Who needs a new double track when you can do double-stack containers?
Remember we are refurbishing the old railway line which is still much in operation! And we also have the roads which should get it's fair share of freight.
So we have the new track, the old one and the roads, what's wrong with that? Don't forget that so many factors may influence the variance of
cost of projects between places, you can do your own research on that! One thing I know is that we spent almost 250 million US dollars on land
compensation for a distance of only 500km,the other is that our railway is referred to as ''SGR class 1 type'' (we also have class 2) these two
among many other factors may explain the huge cost of Kenya's railway.
Three,we have constructed many bridges and dug one of the longest tunnels in Africa, our train stations are top and we had to fence the whole
line from Mombasa to Naivasha. How many countries fence their tracks?
68816419: why would some spend that huge sums of Money only to build one track lane rail line?
Don't call me your friend.I don't know how much pastoralism is prevalent in Southern Africa, but its either you take or leave my explanation. You don't have to believe it anyways. The only way to save these communities is for them to practice sustainable agriculture and embrace ranching. The heavy dependence on rains in Kenya's ASALS (Arid and Semi Arid Lands) makes the places vulnerable when drought comes in.This is the Northern Kenya scenario.
Don't deny that Nigeria has no starvation cases.Your own soldiers have been documented to begging food from the militants themselves! If your poor people had food in abundance, there would be no need of school feeding programmes!
Johncables402: Stop making silly excuses my friend . Is South Africa, Botswana and Namibia not also experiencing extreme drought ?. Why are we not seeing them starving like you people? . Nigeria does have her poor people , but they are not showing ribs like yours. We have poor people , you have starving people .
The challenges being experienced now is periodic due to the devastating drought that is affecting the pastoral communities in Northern Kenya.Boreholes,water-pans,dams and rivers are almost drying up and what the government is doing now is to help these communities and their source of livelihood(animals) from the biting effects of drought. Our poverty numbers are known and aren't as shaming as Nigeria where more than 80 million people are living under the poverty line.We know Nigerians as a people who are always on the run to seek asylum outside their country in large numbers due to the hard living conditions there.Nigeria and Nigerians can't lecture any nation when it comes to poverty! We have poor folks, yes... but we aren't the planet's poverty capital!
Johncables402: Yes, but in reality East Africa and Kenya in particular have the highest number of starving people in Africa . We are currently experiencing some economic meltdowns and so are countries like South Africa, Egypt and others , but do you see the kind of poverty that is witnessed over there in the countries mentioned?. We might be going through a tough time , but we are not your mates bro . Giving people land to farm their own food should be your top priority not farming flowers for sex obsessed Europeans.
And how is Nigeria good in destroying poverty? Last time I checked our poverty levels reduced a bit. What of yours?
Johncables402: Are you going to answer me?. I know why I asked you those questions. No , you are in denial . You are here posting tea farms and nice cbd buildings as if that's how all Kenyans live , it took the tanzanian and Nigerians to bring the other side of Kenya to light. Stop lying , Kenya is a poor country with a lot of poor people. You may be improving in other things , but you are still way behind in many and that includes destroying poverty .
If Tanzania shows Kenya something,Kazikazi would keep on gloating about it.I guess these lessons they give us are victories to them. The guy would brag about how Kenyan officials visited the Dar's BRT not knowing that our officials have visited many other BRT projects too. It's childishness at its best.
NairobiWalker: Do you know how rich those Marathoners are? Do you know other than Kenya and Ethiopia which other countries are good in Marathon? Well, they are the USA, Japan, Russia and England in that order. Is Tanzania richer than those countries?
How are you doing 'stuffs' in SADC when South Africans like Xhosanostra don't even know you're members of SADC.
Are your 'stuffs' that irrelevant?
You know, it's fun to throw banters but most timesyou just sound stupid and uneducated. I guess this makes Kenya rich too according to your logic.
I noted that too. It's sad that many young people are shying away from farming or anything to do with it!
sufferNsmiling: I like this guy for saying one thing in this video. When he entered the black toyota. He said it clearly if he wasn't for president he would have spent a lot more time in agriculture. That is a very very good remark form a president if you can feed the people there will be less wars and conflicts
Hey Xhosanostra, ednited, kazikazi aka kumamoto, jaceblaze, vaxx, blconigeria2018, zimbobeauty, Suffernsmiling and anybody who is neither Kenyan or Nigerian on this thread. Please, we need your votes here. Which of these buildings is more of an architectural masterpiece and beautiful than the other? Please be honest and fair in your answers. No hating. The poll ends 24 hours from now.
