Kspicz: I am one of the readers club members of this group my take is rather than depending on your intelligence, qualifications or connections I would prefer you take the humble pill and pray for grace.. I may come from one of the most competitive states in Nigeria but I have come to understand the race isn't for the swift or the battle for the strong but grace would make the difference. As a human resources practitioner, I have seen unqualified persons being favoured and highly qualified persons rejected. Let's not forget companies don't just hire you because you have knowledge but also for skills and most importantly attitude. As little as Attitude is, it has disqualified alot of qualified candidates having said this i implore many of us to take the humble pie because in a recruitment such as this, favour would separate people, so pray for God's favour and stop displaying your intelligence everyone who has made it this far is intelligence and should congrats his/herself as it's been a race of over 25 million person's. At the end of it all, God would qualify the unqualified. Thank you Baba, I guess you quoted the wrong post. Nice submission though. |

pflourish: Aside from being bitter, the truth is also always unfair in the eyes of those that prefer comforting lies. We all can continue to pretend that there were no candidates who scored higher in the CBT than those interviewed. Until we fall on the wrong side of the divide when APLs are issued. Even if roadside mechanics and fishermen are going to be considered, shouldn't they go through the same application process? Lol, don't mind her, it's because "fishermen" connotes a particular region/state, but if it's Zamfara or particular region that is mentioned, majority of us we say "Hell yeah, that's true" Hypocrisy, isn't it? How many EH do you think was scheduled on July 6? How many EH do you think was scheduled on the remaining days? All these they've not paid applicants scheduled on a particular day, or particular state, or discipline doesn't follow. cocococo: So the most plausible theory is what I will call the COCO’s theory. Like I said earlier on, it is still a spinoff of the Access Bank theory. One thing we must know, or have experienced, is that the NNPC recruitment staff is a very organised team. Some people receiving alerts, and others not receiving, is not a random occurrence. The Coco’s theory can be explained in the following way.
1. From the simple survey above, it is clear that only applicants of a particular date(s) have not received alerts. The NNPC recruitment team is not that disorganised to pay July 3rd or July 6th applicants, leaving out July 2nd applicants who did their interviews first. (Someone else please conduct the survey for July 1st applicants to see if they have, or have not, gotten alerts). 2. The CBT performance was used for the order in which the interviews were conducted. It is logical to say that the best performers from all geopolitical zones were invited for oral interviews first, before others. As such, those who performed best in the CBT were invited in the first two days—July 1st and July 2nd. 3. Priority slots were given to those interviewed on the 1st and 2nd of July. Those who did interviews later than these dates are simply ‘fillers’. In other words, if there was stillinterviews some slots left after the first two days of interviews, that is, if some applicants in the first two days were screened out due to some reasons like very poor interview performances or certificate discrepancies, people from subsequent days were used to fill in the spaces. 4. On the issue of alerts, everyone will get alerts definitely. But one thing we have learned from the recruitment process is that NNPC team is highly organized—the team even went as far as calling some people on phone to confirm their account details before sending their transport fare. There is a reason the team is withholding the money for July 2nd, and possibly July 1st applicants. The reason is that it is from these people that most appointment letters will be given to. So, these people will still probably travel to Abuja for medicals and other exercises. So their money will come to them in due time, in the later stages of the recruitment. 5. This is not part of the theory per se, but to console those who have gotten alerts. It is not the end of the world. You can still make it in life. You better start accepting the reality of things right now so that when the appointment letters start coming out, your hopes would not be up, and the reality would have already sunk in before then.
For us, the applicants who haven’t gotten alert yet, let us bounce in style. Guy, the premise on which your "shioory" was built is wrong. Applicants were not scheduled based on performance on CBT, rather on region of test location regardless of state of origin. July 1st applicants are mostly from Abuja and its environment, I guess this is due to nearness to point of interview. July 2nd applicants are mostly people of Kaduna and its environment, July 3rd are mostly of Kwara, Kogi or North Central in general, July 4th are people of Ondo or so, 5th are mostly Ibadan and Lag, 6th are mostly Lag and some Ibadan, and so on.... Note: it's based on region where applicants wrote the test, not their state of origin. And even on nairaland which is hardly up to 20% of the invited applicants, (that's roughly 2000) of which I even doubt. We've seen people whose locations are from all the region where the test was conducted being paid, including Abuja and Kaduna. That a lot of July 6th are on Nairaland, may be because most people staying in Lagos that are applicants are on Nairaland, regardless of their actual state of origin. However, the issue is, why the "MEMO" of "thank you" sent to NNPC staff after the payment of some applicants, and it seems the payments of the remaining applicants has stopped? Note: All the NNPC staff or "connect" cannot know how the selected applicants will be done, in fact, aside the top Ogas of each subsidiary, and some selected few at NNPC Abuja towers, the remaining NNPC staff may not know jack. So if your connect or "Sauce" is just ordinary Experience Hire in one subsidiary in Lagos, Kaduna, Delta, or PH, my brothers and sisters, they may just be giving us info based on what they think should be the right thing, or the normal practice. |

mosgoon: haha.. You went to go and pick McKinsey as an example.. A company I worked in and have first hand experience of the recruitment process as well as relationship with one of their regional HRs. You culled that from Igotanoffer.com right?
Lee me put it straight to you. The scenario you posted in your culled text is EXTREMELY! rare.. And even non existent most of the time. When that comes is and why it even comes in at all is cos the PST is structured differently to many other job recruitment tests. Mcks PST has in it on the job style categorized questions. Extremely rare doesn't rule it out. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by joobseekar: 2:39pm On Jul 19, 2019 |
mosgoon: Wow. IMO, the theories get worse as time goes by.. Haha.. Past CBT being considered along with interview performance for a job position. Haha.. This is so ridiculously funny Well, I don't think it's ridiculous. This is copied from quora "To understand how McKinsey uses the PST you first need to understand why they bother having such a test. McKinsey is in the business of solving hard problems for companies. It is therefore essential that they recruit the best possible talent every year. If they failed to hire the smartest candidates for a few years in a row, McKinsey would probably lose its edge against Bain or BCG. The company uses different tools to assess candidates: CVs, cover letters, case interviews, personal experience interviews, role plays, etc. The McKinsey PST is one of these tools and is designed to assess quantitative and reasoning skills in particular. In most countries, McKinsey starts by screening resumes and cover letters. Selected candidates are then invited to take the McKinsey PST. IGotAnOffer estimates that 33% of candidates succeed at the PST in average. Those successful candidates who score above the 70% passing score are then invited to participate in 1st round interviews. In other words, McKinsey mainly uses the problem solving test to decide if they are going to give you an interview orcocas not. Unfortunately, most people think that McKinsey ONLY uses its PST to decide whether you are invited toCase interviews or not. This is NOT the case. If you make it to the last round of interviews, McKinsey will also use the PST to decide if it should make you an offer or not. If the company hesitates between you and other candidates who have done similarly well at their case interviews, McKinsey will likely choose you if you scored substantially higher at the PST than they did. Conversely, if you scored just above the 70%+ passing score, you will have to do extremely well during case interviews for McKinsey to extend you an offer. Candidates tend to prepare much more for case interviews than they do for the Problem Solving Test. It therefore seems that investing time to get a very high score at the PST can be an efficient differentiating strategy." So if McKinsey can do it, NNPC may also do it. |

Mitocyan: Hmm nawa ooh, let's assume 27 candidates per state would be selected and a particular state has only one host community LGA where at least 4 candidates must be selected, so every other candidate not from that LGA are fighting for the 23 remaining slots in that state, while those from that LGA are fighting for 27 slots. Most "host states" hardly have up to 30 local governments, so they may have the chance of having 4 slots in one host communities. However, just like higher institution admission, not every school staff get mouth, some Deans of faculty can't promise you some very competitive courses or courses outside their faculty. So while there's always merit list in a roughly 5000 jambites and DEs candidates, so there will be in a roughly 1500 GTs and EHs applicants of NNPC. |

mosgoon: lol, this is the most ridiculous theory so far on lacking basic logical consistency You never can say never. Those interviewers MIGHT be generous with markings in the early days. However, since the interview seems to be scheduled according to region in which test was taken, which region populates July 2?? Separate questions @Oga Jarus and Xfire, will they consider CV submitted when evaluating candidates? will the test mark still be considered along with interview mark, or just interview alone? |

datascience: Let me subtly explain Jarus last paragraph.
It means he cannot ask the correlation between APL and TP because that would make him look like a fool.
Which means anybody who keeps formulating conspiracy theory or still believe in that theory may just be unlikely acting like a "......."
Or how best can you explain? If APL and TP doesn't/can't/won't correlate at all. We won't even spend much time on it, it's a "theory" that can only be tested by either "time" as things unfold, or NNPC coming out and clarify it. That they say they'll reimburse everyone doesn't mean they'll do it in a particular way. In most interviews, the interviewers generally tell each applicant, when they'll get back to them, say, in 2 weeks time, however, most of the time, they only contact the successful applicants and not all the interviewers. But what do I know? Joobseekar guesses, HR disburses. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by joobseekar: 7:57pm On Jul 18, 2019 |
Jarus: My "sauce" who works in NNPC (but not in HR) believes the recruitment will be concluded latest early next month. When I reminded him/her about approval by FCC, he/she said all that can be fasttracked.
Second info I got: 1000 GT and less than 500 EH will be hired.
So keep your fingers crossed. But pls don't crucify me if it doesn't turn out exactly accurate o. Things can change.
I didn't ask about correlation between TP and APL. God forbid. That kind of question can "fall one's rank". It will make me look like a fool. Lol. For Oga Jarus to " acknowledge" it, this shows the " Access theory" can't be categorically dismissed, even if it's 0.000...1% of being true. Anyway, are the people that received alert today that much? what was their notification narration? NEFT? another name of NNPC employee aside the other two known? for each day of the interview, we only wrote account details on first come first serve basis i.e. on how early you're through with your interview. GT and EH wrote their name separately, why are they paying them together, but not some applicants? could it be according to Interview number or Application ID during registration? or perhaps, no "conspiracy" theory is a conspiracy theory on its own. |
