Yesterday in my community, a lady reported that her husband assaulted her.

Now in my community, slapping, attracts a fine of 50k.

Fighting attracts a fine of 100k, 24 stroke of the cane and 1 carton of beer.

Back to my story, the husband was arrested and whipped 24 stroke, and was made to pay a fine of 50k and 1 carton of beer.
And afterwards was sternly warned by the youths never to lay a finger on his woman again.

He was given a bottle of beer and told to take his wife home.

Men in the house, how would you live with your wife after such humiliation?

What amused me was the type of men and youths that came out to embarrass and advised the man on how to govern his home.

I remember when "Black Panther" (2018) came out and Black folks were going to cinemas wearing trad, and hyping the movie to the highest heavens, because it was supposedly the first "black superhero movie" on a major slate, only for me to actually see it, and see that it was just your normal run on the mill flick, that has enjoyed a magnanimous hype, that the film, in reality, came nowhere to matching.

That is the exact same feeling i had, after seeing this...and in a funny irony, but movies were made by the same film maker.

Now on a good day, was this a good movie? Yes, but boy the things they have said about this movie for the past 2 months or so, i genuinely struggled to see tbh...

A glorified "From Dusk till Dawn" (1996), with a little racial war on the side, was all it was...and the replay value for me at the very least, is at it's lowest ebb.
