What most Nigerians fail to realise or don't want to realise is that PDP and APC is just like concoction rice and jollof rice the difference is the same .... Obaseki was a bad man under APC he joined PDP and became a saint and hardworking governor ...who has been working hard in financial institutions before he became governor.. Ize iyamu was the man who can't be trusted with government funds due to his intent to steal by oshiomole....and has miraculously become a good man who has a complete certificate and is worthy of becoming the governor .. These people see us like dummies that would consume anything they sell to us, they don't give two f's about the masses ! Anybody really picking sides between any of these two political parties is mad ! |

mrkings84: The church is one of the most law abiding institution. Ask anyone around u. Even in this pandemic period, the church followed every guidelines. But that doesn't mean unnecessary and foolish guidelines should be thrown to the church just to jeopardize it activities.
Government parasternals are opening, markets are opening without any major guidelines on how they will operate, interstate movements are kicking off, what are the ncdc guidelines for these? Your pastor opened his church when govt instructed against it ..what a way to abide by the law !!! you know what I'm even tired of talking .... Let churches open fully Canaan land can assemble their usual 300, 000 people , Rccg and deeper life can even hold a prayer convention of millions of people at the national stadium prayer is what we need now ryt ? Come to your churches with your grand parents and great grand parents , let asthmatic and hypertensive people come to church , its the house of God nothing can happen to them ...take your communions from the same cup and shake and hug your brethren ... Let's all get mad once ! |

Angelfrost: First off, I'm not religious at all!!!
It's your reasoning that is clouded sir, while mine is nothing if not objective!!!
The people who gather in the markets, mostly at close quarters, will still spread the virus to their homes and friends in other places. So, this defeats your argument in all ramifications.
You don't need to stretch this simple and clear argument to ridiculous proportions. The clear fact remains: If you can't control crowds and prevent community spread in one place of crowding (Markets attract crowds, please stop arguing in the contrary. It makes you look unlearned) then trying to come off as proactive by clamping down on another is nothing but hypocrisy!!! This is just commonsense sir.
On where I stand... Keep all non-essential places of gathering fully closed, especially where you know guidelines will never be adhered to. Yes, this includes churches and other places of worship!!!... At the same time, enforce social distancing and other preventive measures in essential service gatherings like markets, or keep them equally closed!!!
The above is what serious nations do!!!... I hope my explanations and stand are quite succinct!!! Thank you!!! If you have said this from the on set I wouldn't have gone back and forth .. I am also not in support of the crowd in the markets at all ... I thought you were leaning to the school of thought that were using the market crowd to justify the gathering of 50 ,000 people at Canaan land , and other religious centres... My point is the govt totally have little control over the market , since very few Nigerians even believe in the existence of the virus.... but that is not an excuse for the church to throw caution to the wind when simple compliance to these guidelines would protect their members for the mean time ... I was trying to see from your point of view and get your stance ...now that I do I'm sorry for calling your reasoning clouded ... |

Angelfrost: Your statement in bold actually made me laugh!!!
What are you even saying or typing here??! Seriously now!!!... Why can't they be compared??! Is it not the same virus??! Does the virus avoid markets out of sympathy for "a crowd of traders and a few people buying household items"??!... Where is the falsehood in comparing gatherings of the same individuals in different settings??!... Or do superhumans gather in markets??!...
If you brought this argument before any court world over, even the dumbest judge will strike it out and mock you out of his court room!!!
You can't be selective on definition of general terms like "Crowds" or "Crowded Places"!!!... What applies to one must equally and graciously be applied to all!!!... That's the only way to achieve true disease containment, without coming off as selective, biased or "Anti-religion"!!! if you are married , do you step out with your whole family to the market ? if your answer is yes then its either you are not mentally fit or you just choose to be dumb ... I can confidently tell you that a good number of people have no business in those crowded markets you speak of ...but the church has families congregating in a building ....like I said you can never compare the crowd in terms of numbers .... Lastly I would like to know where you stand ....are you saying we should lockdown everything all over since some people have chosen to be mad at the markets ...or since the crowds in the market can't be controlled , the govt should allow people to come and fight wrestling at the national stadium in their millions... I'm sure a judge will clap for you and give you front seat in the court for this your clouded reasoning ... You religuos folks don't realise the world doesn't revolve around your church buildings !!? |

Churches have been holding online services and still collecting offerings online but schools are not allowed to collect school fees for conducting online learning yet you don’t hear anyone complaining. Enough of this kind of talk already. Deeeeeeeep words of wisdom Covid 19 has affected Educational sector - kids cant resume and teachers are broke at home . Transport sectors - Airplanes cant fly ..Danfo's cant carry usual capacity... Keke's can only carry two, okada'a were banned altogether . Market sector - they don't open 7 days of the week again ,and can't even close when they want...and are not making as much as they used to ! Why isn't anyone screaming attack on any of these sectors or is the church building all there is |

Christianity Etc › Re: Coronavirus: Guidelines For Reopening Churches And Mosques By NCDC by Joshmodest(m): 11:28am On Jun 14, 2020 |
Angelfrost: To your first question in bold, Yes they greatly do!!! The smallest market gatherings in the nation easily outnumber most big churches. There is no single market in this nation adhering to WHO preventive guidelines! Not a single one!!! When you put that into real perspective, being restrictive on religious gatherings achieves absolutely nothing, and further paints a picture of bias or selective justice.
To your final point, inability or failure to control crowding in markets that meet daily, having an attendance of almost 90 percent of a given population, already and irrevocably bodes ill for everyone of us... Restricting churches and mosques changes nothing!!! To your first paragraph ...its total false hood to compare a crowd of traders and a few people buying household items ...to the crowd that will convene in Canaanland and even 4 catholic or Anglican churches with all sorts of people in full attendance in lagos ... i haven't been to a proper market in like 2 years now...same for many people ...even the markets don't open everyday ...go look at the strict guidelines those guys are adhering too...simple guidelines given to you people ....you are still crying fowl and complaining ! Secondly do we say because some people at the markets have decided to be mad... We all should throw caution to the win and go maddd too ?? |

I hope your life will not be the opposite of glad which is... anguished, joyless, dreary, dull, bittersweet, dolorous...

Angelfrost: Forget his mindset for a sec...
Are these precautions, especially social distancing, more pertinent in places of worship than markets and trading areas??!... If you can't achieve disease prevention in more crowded areas, what then is the whole point of unduly restricting worship centers??!
These are the issues!!!
That said, I see no reason why churches are making a fuss... These guidelines are just commonsense!!! I thought religious leaders were supposed to be intelligent. Are you also saying that the number of people in markets outnumbers the religious centres ?? Or since they have not been able to control crowd in the markets we should all begin to go mad and gather about ! |

mrkings84: They should stop all these unnecessary tales!
How can they say "People who are sick should not go to places of worship. And that there should be temperature screening on entry"?
Sorry sir. The church is a place where those who are sick come for divine healing. Even those with coronavirus can be healed in the church so I don't know how this particular guideline is going to be observed because even the so called science has not been able to provide solution to the current pandemic after so many months of research. People are now depending on God for divine healing.
Happy Sunday brethren! Did you worship today in church or at home?
Me went to church o! Corona can't stop me from worshipping my creator!!! do you know one thing that kills faster than corona, it's ignorance and foolishness ....The church where corona spread in Japan, its sango that they are worshipping there I suppose ?? Get wise or die of ignorance.... google about a man who was laying hands on people , saying corona is not for a child of God bla bla .....and how he died like a native fowl !!! what you've been doing every Sunday is not worshipping your creator, but sinning against him ...cos your book talks about obeying authorized institutions.... which you and your pastor have disregarded ....in the name of obeying God rather than man - which has no basis in this argument !! I'm sorry for people with this kind of retarded mindset you have ... Peace !!! |
