I was only 10 years when a nurse who was already a mother at that time started seducing me. Every morning, she would wait for my elder brother who was a businessman then to go to the market. She moved to a place and sat directly opposite me and I could practically see her vj so clear that the image registered in my brain and ligered for so many years. The truth is that I didn't like any of those encounter but later in the year, they began to hunt me. Those memories began to distract me from virtually everything I did including school work. This is not about equality !
It's simple logic and reasoning , mothers get custody of thier kids not because she's the one legally responsible to care for them , or closer to them as u say , but probably because it's only fair to give the child to the person who suffered the most to bring him / her to life ...
Even dogs become violent when thier puppies are to be taken away cos of the pains of child bearing ....
It is not natural but societal even your holy books never said anything like women take care of your kids it's your Job !!!
Kids get closer and talk to who gets closer to them ....not who's around them even if the mom works 9 - 5 she still finds a way around balancing everything ...
It's only sensible and responsible that a reasonable man should agree to his shortcomings in raising his kids and take his share of the blame if they turn out bad , and not tossing the blame to the moms !

I find it funny that you seem not to believe in equality that is you believe the man should be in charge more like a 70 - 30 if we should do the maths, but in terms of bad performance from the family he claims to head , he should take 20% of the blame .... this isn't about feminism it's common sense !!!

I beg to differ bro and these are my points; I agree that a man should also be responsible for a child's upbringing, but if we should be honest to ourselves women are naturally closer to their children than men. That emotional attachment that started from the very day she took in, laboured the pregnancy, went into labor and delivered, and even breast fed the baby.. All these create a very strong emotional bond between a mother and her child which men entirely do not experience. Okay let's take a look at the animal world, don't you see how the fowls, female goats, Lioness etc look after and protect their young ones while obvioulsy the males don't give a Bleep? It's also applied to humans, the priority of the man will always be to make sure his wife and children feed fat even if his wife is earning her own millions, he will hardly have time to change diapers or check how many beverages are left in the fridge. The man may help out once in a while, but NATURALLY he will never be more attentive to that than a woman.
Lastly most men engage in business trips that can take them away from home for months while the mother is at home with the children, how many men will agree to sit at home changing diapers while the wife goes on a business trip?? And while all these happen the bond between the mother and child(ren) get stronger and thereby the woman tends to have more influence on the child than the man. It's a simple logic, I can go on and give you lots of reasons but make I park my G-wagon for here

My brother , I like the fact in your post that u said women are naturally closer to the children not the other way round ...
Women tend to love the children more , and this has made society to actively think she should be responsible for however they turn out , forgetting that the child has a father as well.....
I've seen instances and they're very present , u haven't just seen one , where the mother seems to be the one doing those business trips to keep the family afloat , while the man spends most time at home and still not around the kids , the mom is still saddled with the same upbringing duty even in her lack of time ..and if her kids turn out wayward , ppul would blame her for choosing her career instead of her kids while her husband is completely absolved of all the blame .....
My point is this as a man , the failures of your kids character wise should not be the fault of your wife alone , but should be a mutual disappointment on the both of you , especially you being the father of the house ...let us cut this mothers some slack they're doing a whole lot !
