TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by jossy404: 3:41pm On Dec 02, 2017
Your points are just spot on......

Was about saying the same things.

Maybe @Twood will try and add some adjectives to the reference to Nigerians..i.e some Nigerians or many Nigerian and not just blind generalisation cos I know and believe not ALL are corrupt and criminally minded as you think.

mamaron:
@TWoods...may i make 2 points real quick....I've been giving it alot of thought and I think:

1) humans as a specie are intrinsically "not good" except when we have been saved from our "evil" ways...so regarding your characterisation of Nigerians as liars and cheats....we are...no doubt about it....my argument would be that we are not alone...the only reason other nationals seem to "behave" is because their countries have consequences for bad behaviour. That's why a British man who lives in Nigeria will likely go on a one way road, though he would never dare to do it in Knightsbridge!!! We are not the worst of the human race...our laws are just not being enforced...this would also explain why emigrants like you would appear to be good....you're just in a climate where not wearing your seatbelt atttacts a $100 fine!!! You may argue that the lack of law enforcement is itself an indication of our "badness"...i leave that argument about institutions for another day....i would say though that institutions are not built in a day....the great USA of today had a wild wild west history

2) also if Nigerians are so terrible and Americans are so great then why are the hospitals you imply are passing off discounts as Medicaid not being checked out......are they not breaking the rules by so doing.
..ignorance is not an excuse.... they cannot claim to not know who's are resident and who isn't. Surely they are ways to check!

And one last point...sorry..i know I said 2. I don't know how much of a discount constitutes Medicaid fraud but I live in Lagos and use medical insurance from a reputable company at a reputable hospital and my bills if I pay cash are almost 50% of what it is when I just sign off for insurance to pick up..explanation i was given
..... because of the delay in receiving funds from the insurance company and the likelihood of insurance to decline some payments...arguments about pre-existing conditions etc....i would imagine the process in the U.S. would even be more challenging as they have so many no insurance companies......
