UK COURT FINES BLOGGER £100,000 FOR FĀLSE CLAIMS AGAINST DR. DK OLUKOYA! A UK court has ordered blogger Maureen Badejo to pay £100,000 after lōsing a dëfamātiòn case brought by Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the founder of Mountain of Fíre and Miracles Ministries (MFM), and his wife. The UK High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division, ruled that Badejo’s online statements about the couple were fālse. She was ordered to pay £65,000 in dāmages to Dr. Olukoya and £35,000 to his wife. In addition, she must publicly retract her claims and share a summary of the court’s judgment on her social media accounts. The case went through the UK legal system, and even after an appeal, Badejo was not successful. The court’s decision is a reminder that fālse accūsations have conseqūences, and the law protects individuals against dēfamatōry statements. This ruling highlights the importance of using facts and evidence before making public claims online. It serves as a wārning to bloggers and social media users to be responsible and caūtious when sharing information. #church |

Northerners kill, burn sex worker in Lagos for possessing Quran in her hotel room The Lagos State Police Command has charged three suspects to court for allegedly beating a prostitute, Hannah Saliu, to death and setting her corpse ablaze for keeping the Holy Quran in her room. One of the suspects patronised Saliu and after having sex with her, he reportedly paid her N1,000 for the service. The customer was said to have left her room when she suddenly discovered that her N5,000 had gone missing. She reportedly ran after the customer and accused him of stealing her money. The accusation, however, degenerated into an argument. The customer was said to have mobilised his friends to Saliu’s room to search for the missing money. While searching the place, the friends reportedly found a Quran underneath her pillow. A source said Saliu was questioned for possessing the Quran with the kind of job she was doing, adding that the customer and his friends, who became infuriated by the discovery, pounced on her, beat her up and set her ablaze. The source said, “What happened was that the girl was a prostitute and a customer patronised her and after sleeping with her, the customer paid N1,000 for her service. “But when the customer was leaving, he stole the prostitute’s N5,000 and after discovering that her money had gone missing, the prostitute chased him to ask for her money. “The Northerners, who were with the customer that the girl accused of stealing her money, asked if she was sure that he stole her money. So, they decided to go and search her room where she attended to her customers. “While searching the room, they found Quran under her pillow and started asking what she was using the Quran for as a prostitute. So, they started attacking her; they stabbed her, took her out and set her ablaze. “The incident happened at Alaba Rago, where a lot of Northerners reside. The girl that was killed also came from the North. Their grouse was that she was not supposed to be carrying Quran because of the kind of work she was doing.” |

Good evening house, I noticed at 7:16 pm today, i saw many debit alerts on my phone. The most surprising of it all was I'm having a negative balance of -#15000 in my account which is unlike banks. Could it be as a result of what is happening to social media? I'm using access bank and the customer care is not going through and my account officer is not responding. Who else is experiencing this?

(Bloomberg) -- Ghana banned the importation of cars older than 10 years to encourage international companies including Volkswagen AG and Nissan Motor Co. to set up local plants in the West African country. The new law also provides import-duty rebates for companies that manufacture or assemble cars in Ghana, according to the act of parliament obtained Thursday by Bloomberg. The embargo will take effect six months after the manufacturing or assembling of new vehicles in Ghana begin under a special government program meant to draw investment. Volkswagen, Nissan, Toyota Motor Corp., Suzuki Motor Corp. and Renault SA are among automakers weighing the local assembly of vehicles in a country where used cars make up about 70% of vehicle imports. Ghana is seeking to become a car-manufacturing hub for West Africa, a region with more than 380 million people. VW, Nissan chase African Market where car loans are rare The import restrictions could cost the government as much as $143 million in customs revenue in the first three years after implementation, according to parliamentary documents. Used-car sellers offer more affordable deals in a country where auto loans are rare. The law, signed by President Nana Akufo-Addo on April 30, also bans the importation of cars which have been involved in accidents, which dealers bring in and repair to provide even cheaper options to consumers. The ban on these will take effect from October, regardless of their date of manufacture. ©2020 Bloomberg L.P. |

Only if we can continue with dis. Things will fall in place and ministries will not have reasons for poor performance. |
I humbly write to the all concerned persons on the inhumane treatment which has been melted on us by the management of Federal College of Education(technical) Akoka, Lagos. We were severely laid off on 30th June 2015, without the approval of the Ministry. There was an order from the Ministry that all government parastatals should be paying the staff of their school with their Internally Generated Revenue ( IGR), but it was rather unfortunate instead of being paid as directed, we were all demoted to level 3 on April of the same year. There after , we were all forced to resign which we did not obliged to, however on August, 2015, we were all given letter of disengagement from service which was backdated to June 30th 2015. Of recent , there was an agreement that all the school’s staff controlled by the management should be reinstated in the Federal pay roll but unfortunately instead of reinstating us, the forms meant for us were given to their member that they replaced us with. Furthermore, while the disengagement was on, all our entitlement and salaries were being received by the management. We the forcefully disengaged staff would be grateful if our voices could be heard and necessary action is been taken |
