Good job. More grace and more jobs! Plz what are the differences between solo sized woods and full sized woods? I saw a wood work quotation by a carpenter but didn't see 2x3 and 3x4. When asked why he didn't include them, he said that since they are going to use full sizes that 2x2 will be used for both ceiling noggin and purlins. And also that 2x4 full size will be ok for Wall plates. Plz,my friend how true is this? Thanks

Wow,thanks for your observation big boss. A store room and a laundry room is like a luxury to me now and that will definitely shoot up the cost of my project (more block/cement/ceiling/tiles/door/window)... looking at the floor plan, can the ante room be converted into laundry room and visitors toilet??
why not un-ensuite one bedroom and then let one of the toilets be shared with visitors? And as for the store,I think you will definitely need it.

Its a five bedroom duplex... You're surprised the window is different from the conventional ones you've seen? Its a special design done for a client.
Which means it's not up to the usual 4courses from dpc? There's a reason am asking

. How many bedrooms is this? The ground floor windows look so down to the ground in my eyes. How many courses of blocks from Dpc to the window level?

thanks for the compliments.

I used the old ceiling board in my building too -

to your question, the component that's responsible for 'cancer' has been eliminated by ISO a long time ago.... so it's safe.
A million thanks! Is it one type or it has different types so I don't get the fake ones. Again, I hope with it I can space the noggin woods 4ft x 4ft? Lastly, do you have any idea how much it goes for now? Sorry for bothering you oooh!

mountmoriah:
what is the length and breath of the building, so i can openly give you a quote here that will be justify and fit your budget.

If you can post your roof plan, it will be great for analysis and accuracy.

Points that matter to consider.

1. Do you have parapet on the building?
If you have parapet on the building, it will reduce the numbers of woods to be use and cost of capentry.

2.You have choosing stepped tiles, that is good, 2x3x12 woods will also reduce, because stone coated roofing sheets use more woods compare to stepped tiles.

3.The height of the king post you choose to use for the roofing carcass, will also determine the overall cost of roofing and covering, because it will increase or decrease the materials to be use.

4. The ceiling noggin spacing, if you are installing pop ceilng in the family lounge, and the rooms, and toilets, the ceiling noggin spacing is 2ft by 2ft, and it use more of 2x2x12 woods, compare to the pvc that use 2ft by 4ft ceiling noggin spacing.

Thanks, happy new week.
Can't PVC use 4x4 spacing?
