Yep, that was my dearest brother in law.News shocked us all. He was a very pleasant, person. Rest in peace "My uncle Bode".

Never in my life have I seen or heard of this type of barbaric act. Still thinking it was one of those bad nollywood movies involving fetish acts. but it was real. And they were kids that could have been close to any of us.
No words...just too shocked ,my brain is still processing the whole thing. that nasty, evil video ,where spectators watch young kids beaten to death and roasted and show no humane feelings.
that entire community is cursed for sure...unless they repent and ask God for forgiveness. But to the rest of us, what can we do to turn the evil persisting in our nation? How could this have been prevented? this community had no police surveillance? no church? no mosque? no fear of God? we wait for answers that we may never get in this depraved society.

I beg you please,this woman is hurting and you are too.as much as she says she wants out, she does not want to end the marriage . I know,because I have been there .She is only frustrated and sees no light in the tunnel. Please go for marriage counseling. She appears to be a muslim from her reference to "Allah", if you are also, do you have marriage counseling in your mosque or community? do you have mature elders,relatives or friends who are happily married that can mentor you? But most importantly , take time to pray for God to teach you to be a better husband and father. There are lot sof good books on it .You will get through this and you will both grow closer through the experience by God's grace. There is still love between both of you and though you are both trying to communicate through notes and malice ( not talking), yet you are communicating BUT it is not the appropriate way like other commentators noted. But there is hope for your marriage. we at NL will keep you in our prayers and look forward to hearing about your progress ( though it may take a loooooong time to see, be patient!!)

the pay you are offering is low for FT, you may want to outsource it to someone who will work remotely and charge a little more.

what is the purpose of all the education we gain if we do not have industries to employ the graduate. what will our children in Nigeria be doing for work in 20 years from now? how long will children ( and their parents!) in Nigeria ,dream only to travel and live abroad? No viable commercial manufacturing sector in Nigeria. We are not outsourcing IT service industry like china or India. I think the emphasis on education came from a colonial mental-ism and is not working for us. All it has done is to make us feel arrogant and intelligent and very materialist a culture with nothing to show for it ,unless we gain a decent job as 3rd class citizen abroad. Some of these "high level graduates " are illiterates mentality with college education. nothing to be proud of.

if local councils can do the work they are payed for like clearing gutters,fixing drainage as they publicize, then I can truly say Lagos is well run. they should also stop putting street boys ,touts, "area boys " as govt officials in Lastma , road safety etc without lawful guidance.
