@Hernyolar and Completey: Thanks for your referral to Kate Stores. I was able to get the place yesterday and bought sebamed soap. Also saw original Sudocreme. Chai the thing pain me o. Original there is 1,000 while I bought the fake one for 1500. well, i rather went for zinc&castor oil cream which i also got at the stores. my neighbour told me its better than sudocreme and the sales girl there also said so. hopefully that one has no fake yet in naija.

No this is not the one I got from her . Though that was 2012 it was quite effective and solid. I use it for 2 yrs before giving it out to a friend last August. I will suggest you try sebamed. All gift should have that. You can also change your LO's diaper. It is well.

@completey: I went there n the sudocreme they had is same as the one I called fake. I'm uploading a pic of the one I just finished using n d new one. though I bought the old one over a year ago so I don't know if they av changed d cream. the packaging is diff, the cream more watery n d smell diff. this one smells like relaxer to me o.
pls come to my aid mamas is this sudocreme original?

pls suggest another diaper cream to me o.

Get hot water in a bucket, place in the bathroom - put a drop of Eucalyptus oil then allow the steam to fill the air of the enclosed bathroom while you sit with baby there. Some people use a blanket to cover mother and Child/bucket but I didn't do that cos I didn't want my daughter to inhale it directly. ( I didn't use the water to bathe her, my friend tried that and it reacted on her baby's skin).

thanks. Na wa o all these first timer things sha. I was advised to put some drops in his bathing water. I noticed this morning that his skin was looking somehow like wrinkles or small dots...just little sha. I thought it was d black soap I was using. now maybe its not.
God help us o. they can't talk yet so one has to figure everything out.

Thanks ma.. but how would I know her in that whole Lagos line (sincerely, I just dey hear of that place o...don't know it in particular. I just think it generally refers to all those lock up shops but I heard it is a particular area that is called that). I don't mind if you can give me her number or adequate description.

But I hear too say na that Lagos line wey get burnt so will she still be there? The last time I tried buying baby stuffs in those shops it seemed the market women don desert them. though that must have been a month ago.

Have you tried steaming? I do it with a drop of Eucalyptus oil though some people think eucalyptus oil is too harsh for new born. If you are in that school of thought then use only hot water. My hubby was also sucking DD nose with his mouth cos I couldn't do it. That helped to relieve her.
What are you using the sudocrem for? Catarrh?

Sudocreme is for diaper cream. not catahrr

d scar doesn't go anywhere o. but with time it will smoothen out just like any other wound in other parts of the body

I am back again o.

my baby woke up to feed only to realise his temp was high 38.8. I also noticed he has catarrh abi blocked nose. I used pcm.nocof drop n vit c. I doubt its malaria cos there s almost none in our room n can't remember any biting him recently though we are considering treating him for that in d morning just to rule it out.

I'm just wondering if its teething. he is five months. for the past three days he has pooed once or max of twice per day. its more watery n a little greenish. I didn't worry about it cos his paed told me to expect greenish poop around t4-6 months. plus he drools a lot n wants to chew on everything esp pples fingers. just looked it up online now n they said these can b symptoms of teething. pls how does one really know d. baby is teething

I've also heard teething rings help pls can anyone upload a pic of one.don't av an idea wat it looks like. I av pacifiers though. do they serve same purpose.

thanks my sister. I'd try that with black soap too. I used to dry his body n it indeed stains the towel. I bath him morning n night with the water o.

I know black soap helps fade scars in adults skin so it should work for treating the actual infection and fading the resulting scars gradually. It is definitely worth trying.
Also take into consideration other things like the water you use to bath him, detergent used in washing his clothes and beddings.etc

hope it doesn't darken the skin color cos my baby is fair.

for mamas that use this red acalypha leaves to bath their babies. how do u do it? do u boil d leaves anytime u want to bath n use d entire water to bath d baby?

what I do is boil a large qty n keep use it for abt two days. I mix the leaves water with his bathing water. I'm wondering if its working as well as it should maybe I have to boil daily n use the entire pot of water to bath him at once.

On the contrary, natural black soap is not drying at all. I have white friends that i help to buy to treat their children's severe eczema and they use it with their regular lotion.

please does this black soap help with eczema n all these fungal infections. the last time I took my baby to see the paed she said the spots on his body was a fungal infection n gave me a clotrimazole cream. I actually believed it was the scars left by the alefo he had cos it was really much all over his chests when he was younger n someone told me it will take a while for the scars to go.

unfortunately his skin reacted to the clotrimazole cream so I rather apply abf cream which he tolerates better n also contains same percent of clotrimazole.

sincerely I don't know if the spots are getting better or not. on some days I think they are on others I don't think so.

I've been rubbing the cream now for almost three weeks. if its really fungal infection the thing should be obviously lesser. the more I think they are aleefo scars.

pls mamas that their babies had aleefo: how long does it averagely take for the scars to disappear n d skin color tone out?

I am seriously considering looking for another paed this is the second time her prescription didn't really help n the first time it even made things worse.Na for this thread I got suggestions that helped. maybe it doesn't mean she isn't competent sha. I just don't really look forward to our appointments n many times I go much later cos of my previous experience.

That's comfort breastfeeding o,once he is usd 2 itt,he won't fall asleep on his own nd weaning wil be a problem.I advise u stop it nd let him fall asleep wt lullaby,my hubby has a song 4 d children which includes their names nd up till nw even my 3 year old cn fall asleep wen he sings it.sing nd sing instead of breastfeedin in case u leave him wt someone 2 go out.

what works for me, is backing my baby. Before I know it, she has dozed off.

@backing: he can refuse o. wat I do is yo breastfeed him to sleep on d breast n then transfer him to d back. but sometimes even that method no go work. plus I think this sleeping on d breast is a bad habit I'm allowing him form but don't know how to break it cos that's what makes him sleep sometimes. I wish he is old enough to fall asleep on his own. my mum says its too early

about the boils I experienced a similar thing too though I guess I got infected from being pricked by a needle I was using to burst my baby's aleefo (was advised by someone to do so but I guess it wasn't a wise advice after all so I stopped). I used ampiclox that should generally work for boils but in my case it didn't o. I just tried to boost my immune sys with multivitamins,vit c, vegetables n fruits. also reduce processed sugars or drinks.

if u take d ampiclox n it doesn't work give it sometime n retake again. by the time I worked on my immune sys for almost two months n took d drug again it all cleared.

u can also see ur doctor. boils generally means ur body is fighting some infection

1.how much does sebamed soap n d diaper cream go for. with all I've read about it here I'm changing to it sharp sharp .
2. do they sell a carton of dry love diaper? how much is it n how many midi packs will be inside . I've rarely seen cartons in the market o... though I never asked sha
3. finally help me o. my 5months old son hasn't been sleeping so easily or deep during the day for about four days now. any small noise he is awake n won't sleep back easily but just be fussy. his temp is OK n I didn't notice anything wrong. they say babies change don't know if he is changing. if u av any skills for making babies sleep easily pls teach me o.

yes o. its possible. I've seen children that their friends inserted stone in their ear or tiny seed. just tiny objects. the child can even do so himself. u know children to them its all part of playing. the Lord keep them o.

I don't know if someone has answered you or you have been able to see a specialist. is it possible that an object entered or was inserted in his ears n u didn't know? most times its tiny objects including stone. d antibiotics will only work for a while.unless the object is removed it will keep getting reinfected. your ent doctor can help you check.
