luxanne:Funny indeed! Actually the move of the queen from chess history was quite limited, she moved like the pawn somewhat but that changed in the 15th century. The modern day move we know see was inspired by a very influential Queen at that time called Queen Isabella of Spain. You can check that out, its what i know anyways. There has been a lot of arguments on why the queen seems to be more powerful than the king. Quite interesting too luxanne:lol!! yeah it does. hahaha it understandable. VERDICT THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS. FROM THE COMMENTS ABOVE I HAVE COME UP WITH THE FOLLOWING: THE GOOD DRESS: LOVELY SHOES: TOTALLY ON POINT COLOUR COMBO: GORGE! 4. EN PASSANT En Passant this is a french word meaning in passing. As we know the pawn is known as one of our weakest pieces and moves just one or two steps from its starting position and one step forward till it gets a promotion and leaves the board finally, that's if it survives to get there. https://www.nairaland.com/2152083/chess-basics-beginners#30824341 (this is to just to remind us on the movement of the pawn in case we have forgotten) Many people play chess games without even using the en passsant rule,(me too ) it doesn't mean that we shouldn't learn or know more about it. As beginners it is very important to know the rules that exist in the game even if you won't use it in the end.Now, En Passant is a special move carried out by a pawn to another pawn. note:a pawn to another pawn. Not to any other piece oh! Why was it created? En passant was created so that pawns cannot escape capture by an opponent's pawns by moving two squares from their starting position. This might sound confusing, but it is actually easy to learn. Now let's say that i m playing as black and lets say luxanne is playing as white. Now it is my turn has black to play. i have seen ahead of my dear opponent that if i play my pawn to b6 she would obviously and with no mercy take my pawn on b6 with her c5 pawn.(picture 1) In my mind i be like: 'this babe think she's smart let me show her who owns the chess board' and then i move my pawn two steps instead of the normal one step. (picture 2)In my mind i have avoided my pawn from being taken, but unknowingly.This girl has something up her sleeves. This is where the en passant rule applies she can still take my pawn like though i just moved one square. so she moves her pawn diagonally to b6 (picture 3) in the process she takes my pawn off the board and remains on the b6 square (picture 4) The en passant capture must be done immediately after my black pawn advances two squares. If she plays another move she cannot then decide to capture en passant!

Another Generalization and i-can't-mind-my-business- so-am-looking-for-attention Thread on the homepage. Imagine what the poster above posted? Based on his experience (that's if he even had any,lets give him a benefit of doubt) that ladies (not some or most oh, all ladies i.e both old and young) call guys (note again not some or most,all guys that means even relatives that are males are included ) that they are 'truly' in love with. You can imagine the kind of mentality this one carries from his statement and form of writing. Personal note to all my girlfriends please be mindful of this kinda people and stop calling all your male friends or relatives as it means you are "in love" with them. hehe practically watched all the movies in that list. so am a true nollywood fan though in reality the money gotten from this movies aren't as much as to what they actually spend.This would tell you alot about our movies here. so 30 days in Atlanta is 1st in this list? i m not surprised with all the actors involved and the location etc The movie was just to boost his comedy show. Very stupid storyline, with all the hype i was expecting something unique and intriguing. Trying to tell so many things at once and it just made the whole thing crappy. He passed so many wrong messages in the movie has well. Anyways who is that one that said Ije is a silly movie? it passed a message across to people unlike the no 1 on the list. loved mr and mrs, though i felt the wifey didn't deal with the husband enough Cool movie.flower girl first Nigerian movie i have watched in a cinema. funny the poster was deceiving looked like an African American movie poster not the one on this thread though another one. so i enter to start and to my greatest surprise it was Nigerian Desmond Elliot (in the cupboard) and yvonne nelson (house of gold) almost had the same storyline. i wonder who copied who house of gold made more sense than in the cupboard esp towards the ending. weekend getaway another Desmond movie, very confusing and another over hyped movie. figurine would remain my best so far! kunle guy tried mehn, i was so speechless after the ending of that movie. waiting to watch October 1 though.....hope it is worth it and it doesn't end up like 30 days in Atlanta. |

really this thread is quite intresting. well as usual, the guys would support themselves and the ladies would do so as well. like someone said it isnt very logical to say who is smarter than who. As human beings both males and females are both complex in nature. A lady can be smarter than a guy and vice versa. Being intelligent or smart has nothing to do with which gender you are in my opinion. I also think that the way a person is brought up also has an effect on how they they think and how they see things. As we know the way a male child and female child are raised in most families are different. Most males are taught to be tough,be able to fend for themselves and they are given hard task to do. While most females are pampered like dolls, and are taught how to do domestic work and be a good wife. In the process, their brain has been wired to think that anything that involves stress or involve too much thought should be for the guys e.g politics, games etc while things that are simple and not that challenging e.g fashion, celebs etc should be for them. it is all about how our society views women to be that makes them what they are. Not that they are dumb or less intelligent than the male folks and same thing for the guys too. 11 Likes 1 Share |
