Most people aren't afraid of gays or want them dead. Yeah, equal rights and so on. Just keep it in your backyard. Same way the US wants human rights does the rest of the world want human rights to follow what they want.

We all know the US can't remove their leprous hands from the cookie jar when it comes to stifling things all in the name of pushing their ideologies. Why would I trust someone who would lie about some weapons just in order to attack another sovereign nation?

Heard a court of law fining a private cake maker for refusing to make a wedding cake for a gay couple, what about rights of such of persons?

Would we trample on others just because we want to appear unbiased?

Apart from the rights of humans issue. We all do know homosexuality is wrong and doesn't follow natural laws of mating and reproduction. Two same sex people can't produce offsprings but that's their own problem.

Bottom line is, they should do whatever they like but would do well to keep it in their closet and not flaunt it in our faces or force it down the throat of others. We are all contributing to the destruction of mother Earth and sooner than later we all would die and live here. No one lives forever.

I however understand your sentiments that Nigerians should mind their biz but you should understand what globalisation does. We are in a global world now and the greenhouse gases you generate in your backyard in faraway China has far reaching effects on others at the Antarctica. They have a right to vent their frustration as regards what happens in another place.
Onegig

mmm....glad that you understand my view on this issue. Your first line was it a typo error or something?

Anyways i get what you are trying to say about shifting their ideologies and beliefs down someone's throat which also goes against violating other people's rights in different ways. BTW it is the United States of America, they have that hero and god complex. That shouldn't be of surprise to anyone. I'm not justifying their actions but the truth has to be said.

No one is forcing anyone to agree to it especially here in Africa where it has been banned in some countries. like i said previously it is not possible for them to force everyone to go by their rule except they want another world war over a group that will a remain a minority for the remaining centuries to come.

i don't think that globalization has to do with the hatred and anger poured out by most of the people on this forum on the law put fort in the United States. Why cant they put in this much energy and vibe when dealing with corrupt officials, pedophiles, rapist, discrimination of various forms, fake pastors etc use this same energy to think of ways to move this country forward before thinking of something happening in another man's land. It doesn't make any sense! It is actually very hypocritical of them coming up here, acting all holy and cursing all over the place.

We need to get our priorities right in this country if we ever want to move forward. My own personal opinion

gensteejay:
IMO, such a law coming from the US will influence directly or indirectly the practice of same sex marriage in less powerful and developing nations. This will happen due to the hegemony by Uncle Sam over other nations.
Furthermore, man is influenced by a term in Psychology known as herd instinct- emotional pressure to agree
with other members of a group. Already, gay marriage has been legalised in 21 countries of the world. And I see more nations following the footsteps of US.

If this aberration- LGBT marriage, becomes rife on earth, then man has incurred the wrath of God. And when his livid with any set of people as a result of their iniquities, those that didn't partake in the sinful acts may also be punished because they failed to condemn the wrongdoers.

I strongly hope that the President doesn't assent the legalisation of LGBT marriage, because very soon such a request might be made by the US.
first of all the political ideologies of a government is a major factor in determining the laws that govern the country. The united states is a liberal society, and a very accepting society at that. So making such laws in a place like the US isn't a big deal considering the fact that many of the citizens have come to accept homosexuals as human beings who have rights.

Yes, i agree that this law will directly or indirectly influence some countries but before this can happen the political ideology of that country will have to be considered, The US can't just make it mandatory for everyone in the world to accept the same sex marriage issue except of course they want to start another world war.

You are not in any moral position to judge as we have worse issues than gay marriage here in Nigeria that would incur far worse punishment from God if we are to rate ourselves. Remove the speck in your eye before removing the plank in another persons eye. You are not God's spokesman, let him make his own judgement.

I don't see this happening in this part of the world as Africa itself is a highly religious and homophobic continent, so put yourself at rest.

Even if they do(which i doubt) i don't see how that affects you as a human being; will it add food to your table? will it stop you from going to work? will it you stop you from impacting lives?

So why the fear? They are not going to make you gay unless you are secretly one. undecided
Foreign AffairsRe: America's Supreme Court Makes Gay Marriage Legal by joywendy(f): 6:00am On Jun 27, 2015
People are funny sha, i fail to see how this will affect us living in Nigeria, how would this reduce the price of fuel and what significant impact does it add?

Really i wonder why people are taking it so personal, we have bigger issues at hand here and some people are talking bull on top people that have no business with them.

I personally believe that people who have issues with gay people are suppressed gays. That is the best way to understand their obsession with gay folks.

if you don't understand the concept behind it i see no reason why you should open your mouth to talk poo and condemn it, when your opinion doesn't change the fact that the law has been made undecided

Most Nigerians are just filled with hate and i-can't-mind-my-business-syndrome. This is another reason why Nigeria is not moving forward. smh!

@idowuogbo welcome to the thread, we have some rules here actually, as soon as a verdict of a photo is given we move on the the next picture. Commenting on the photo after the verdict has been taken would make the thread look disorganized and distracting as Monnick has said. i still appreciate your comments though but that's how it is done here.

Acidosis:
My advice for the ladies.

I beg you in the name of the powers and forces of the world, if you know you have a BOYFRIEND, A SPOUSE, HUBBY or a BLOKOS you currently rock; kindly desist from running around in the name of dates.

No Nigerian guy is ready to spend money on someone else's babe. Stay with your boyfriend and stop test-running blokoses in the name of dates. If you know you have a boyfriend, breakup if you must test another blokos.

Stop forming single when your heart belongs to someone else. Before you take that ice-cream from a 'stranger' - date, make sure you're ready to pay in kind. No man is ready to spend such time and money in the name of FUN.

We men do not catch any damn fun in sitting ideal in a mall paying bills like idio.ts. Stay with your boyfriend!

Nigerian girls, stay with your boyfriends!!!! If you're bored, get an android phone and play candy crush, or invite your boyfriend over.

For those in distant relationships, stop killing boredom with the resources and time of other men. We have our responsibilities.
Did the op say anything about ladies not staying with their boyfriends, fiancée or husbandhuhWhy the emphasis on such?

FYI a date doesn't necessarily mean that you are going into a relationship. A lady can decide to hangout with her male friend, relative or business associate. Do you know that can also be considered as going on a date?

Maybe you should check the dictionary for the word and know the concept behind it before coming to give advise.

BTW Do you have problems with people in LDR? Because i fail to see how it relates to the topic undecided

Thanks Monnick and you are welcome. smiley

To the picture at hand i like Toke's pose especially from different angles unlike Tiwa's pose just from one angle.

As per the outfit they both look fab, but i would go with Tiwa on this. The hair do, the make up, the shoes. FAB! She looks really classy and all. Very professional like. Though her shoe looks a bit oversized lipsrsealed

Toke on the other hand, those pants and that shirt looks quite awkward. I got to agree with you monnick like her shoes too. Apart from that nothing else moves me in her outfit.

more comments people, no dulling cheesy
EducationRe: It's A Pity We Don't Have Active Statistians On Nairaland by joywendy(f): 8:35pm On Jun 13, 2015
olupentane:
You should use the same procedure for the first question too.
observed
315
108
101
32
Expected ; since the expected ratio is 9:3:3:1 it mean the proportion is 9/16, 3/16, 3/16, 1/16 therefore,
Expected
315*(9/16)
108*(3/16)
101*(3/6)
32*(1/6)
and your n=4 here
you should get your result.
What is your hypothesis for this question?.
nice but i think you missed it up somewhere, especially with the expected values.

He said the number of the peas should be in proportion to 9:3:3:1.

i.e the total peas which is

315+108 +101+32=556

So proportion of those peas that are round and yellow will be

9/16 *556 = 312.75

on and on like that.
i think this should be the hypothesis

H0 : The theory is true, the numbers are of the stated proportion

H1: The theory is false, the numbers are not of the stated proportion.

i may be wrong though, that's one way i know in stating the hypothesis of this question.

Olarewajub:
Thanks. I only said the Statistians here on Nairaland are not active in the Education section.
Nope you said, and I quote
"it is a pity we don't have active statisticians on nairaland,I've posted this statistic question over a week now with no solution from any statistician."
