The Android phone is correct! When dealing with BODMAS, PEMDAS or BEDMAS, we follow the rules of precedence i.e from left to right for division and multiplication because they have equal precedence. Let's consider BODMAS. From 6÷2(2+1) B = Bracket (2+1)=3 O = order (there's no order of operation) so 6÷2(2+1) implies =6÷2(3) implies =6÷2*3 =3*3(from left to right) = 9// .................................................................... Second method. 6÷2(2+1), and it can be written as 6 = ------. (2+1) 2 6 = ---. (3) 2 = 18/2=9 or 3(3) = 9// proved. Therefore, the Android phone is correct. |
How to calculate your CGPA as a student from100L-400L/500L. In this article, I'm going to teach you how to calculate your CGPA from year one to your final year; you are going to be exposed to the effect/damage of carryovers on your CGPA, just continue reading. Consider the following: 1. TNU(Total Number of credit Units registered) 2. GPA(Grade Point Average) 3. CGPA(Cumulative Grade Point Average). 1. TNU: the sum of all Credit Units(including electives) registered for in one semester. 2. GPA: Performance in any semester is reported in Grade Point Average. This is the average of Total Credit Points (TCP) earned in the courses taken during the semester. It is a real number(accurate to two decimal places) and is obtained by dividing the TCP(Total Credit Points) by TNU(Total Number of credit Units). It is usually rated over 5 points for most Federal/State/Private universities. Thus, GPA = Total Credit Points/ Total Number of Units. In a scale of 5.00 CGPA, A = 5. (70-100). B = 4. (60-69). C = 3. (50-59). D = 2. (45-49) F = 0. (0-44) NB: There's no "E" in some Federal Universities. Consider the example below: First semester. Course code Grade Unit Point MTH101. B. 3. 4 MTH105. A. 3. 5 PHY101. B. 3. 4 CHM101. C. 2. 3 CSC101. D. 3. 2 GST 101. F. 2. 0 GST 103. B. 2. 4 PHY103. A. 1. 5 Now from the example above, let's calculate your Total Credit Units, Total Credit Points and your CGPA. TCU(Total Credit Units) 3+3+3+2+3+2+2+1= 21. TCP(Total Credit Points)= Grade point x Total Credit Units. I.e MTH101 = B = 4x3 = 12 MTH105 = A = 5x3 = 15 PHY101 = B = 4x3 = 12 CHM101= C = 3x2 = 6 CSC101 = D = 2x3 = 6 GST101 = F = 0x2 = 0 GST103 = B = 4x2 = 8 PHY103 = A = 5x1 = 5 Now TCP = 12+15+12+6+6+0+8+5 = 64 GPA = TCP/TCU GPA = 64/21 = 3.0476 ≈ 3.05(2dp) 3. CGPA = TCP/TNU (for all semesters) Therefore the above CGPA = 64/21 = 3.05 Now let's assume that the second semester results are out, and you were able to register 20 Units. Assuming you follow the same process above, and your Total Credit Points out of 20 Units was 90. I.e TCU = 20 TCP = 90 now GPA = TCP/TCU = 90/20 = 4.50 => CGPA = [TCP(1st semester)+TCP(2nd semester)]/[TCU(1st semester)+TCU(2nd semester)] CGPA = (64+90)/(21+20) = 154/41 = 3.76(2dp) Assuming that you are now in 200L. Let's assume that you registered 18 units in first semester. And your TCP = 80 This implies that GPA = 80/18 = 4.44(2dp) But your CGPA(that's from year 1) = (64+90+80)/(21+20+18) = 234/59 = 3.97 Second semester 200L Let's say Credit Units taken was 20, and you were able to score 92(i.e TCP = 92), then GPA = 92/20 = 4.60 But CGPA = (64+90+80+92)/(21+20+18+20) = 326/79 = 4.13(2dp) It continues like that till you graduate. Let's talk about the damage that C/O has on your CGPA. Assuming you carried a 3 Credit Unit course in first semester (year one), and you are supposed to register 20 Credit Units in first semester(year two), that means you've automatically added 3 Credit Units (the carryover) to your required Credit Units. That's means instead of having 20 Credit Units, as your current Credit Units, you'll now have 23. Now if your mates(without C/O) are having Total Credit Units of 40, yours will now be having 40+3 = 43, if they're having 60, yours will be 63, the painful thing is that it will be there, even after you clear it; it will make your to CGPA grow slow. NB: if you keep on carrying a course, the Credit Unit of that particular course/courses keep(s) on doubling itself, even after you clear it, the doubling is there, attached to your TNU till you graduate. In conclusion, it's better to pass a course with a D than having F(C/O), because the damage it will have on your CGPA is continuous till u graduate. I hope that the above information will be of help to those that were wondering on how CGPA is being calculated. |
Maths guru from my department, that was magical..... But he deserved something better. May God open doors for him. Imagine having a "B" from year one, in that very department..... Kudos to you sir. Gosh! Whatta Brain!! |
Kudos to him, first class no be beans. |

First of all know your bonus courses, yes when I say 'bonus course(s)' I mean the ones you know that you won't suffer getting A in them/it. After that you need to focus on the ones that u think they're kinda tough. Read/practice those tough courses at least 3 times or more before test or exam. Plan your time and take it serious. Your reading venue should be conducive, avoid reading in group except for some practicals and calculation courses. Sleep well, eat well and have a little bit fun. Pray because you need God's grace. If you are a kind of person that reads at night, make sure you sleep well during the day and vice versa. Plan the grades you will like to have in all the courses you are offering, and make sure you develop a mindset of getting A in every course. And lastly but not the least don't settle for less! I wish u success; and abeg no too dey follow girls ooooh. |
Just watch and see........

In programming it is called fatal error!! You can't divide a number by nothing . |
We have negative numbers, neutral number (zero) and positive numbers. The number zero is the opposite of both positive and negative numbers. Zero is just like a black hole that swallows any of the numbers that comes across it i.e when you try to join any number to it. Neutral is just neutral u can't have two or more. You can't multiply 2 by neutral and expect to get 2neutral(because we only have one God), any number u multiply by neutral (zero) the number itself end up becoming a neutral, meaning it can't escape that region aagain. The number zero is a Bokoharam, it kills. When you add or subtract any number to the neutral, you get that number back because you can only have one neutral, u can't add anything to it or subtract anything from it, divide or multiply and expect something positive in return. Number 0 is the origin of all numbers, any number that tries to associate itself with it will go back to its initial form(Zero) because that's their origin. 0 means nothing. Anything multiply by nothing is nothing. Nothing multiply by anything is nothing. Negative and positive numbers are just like souls, zero being their doom, when zero strikes them they all die. I think I have contributed something small here, based on my reasoning though. Many people have responded brilliantly here, I think it's enough to answer your question. Great question though. |

Op let's reason this together. If the earth is flat then it must be endless, and if it's endless, does the sun move? And if it moves then why does it always rise from East and set at the West? Does the sun go to West and then return back to East underground at night and then rise again since the Earth is flat? Why does that always happen? Why do we have different time zones? Why do the Sun and the Moon aren't flat too? Why do we have solar and lunar eclipse? Why do tall towers look shorter from a distance? Why do the whole world see the same Sun but not exactly at the same time? Why do we have nights and days? Why do tall mountains look shorter when we are far from them? Can you answer those questions to prove the reality of your flat Earth? |
