kanu is still roaming the streets of Igbo land, because Igbos pamper cowards a lot, we pampered ojukwu and uwazuruike that is why we have Kanu today, when he fails to get this Biafra, you will not hold him accountable for the lives his struggle will affect in the North, you will not bother to blame him for the sour political future he is laying its ground work today, all the works of our patriots past since the end of the war is useless no thanks to his struggle, how many more enemies are we going to have after kanu, from the north and West? don't you think that the seed of hate kanu is sowing today will germinate into a monster of further marginalization?

Kanu is willing to risk it because it is in our nature to pamper Cowards, one of his supporters said that if he doesn't get biafra but gets restructuring, they are ok!, imagine such stup!d statement? he wants igbos to create enemies from all the cardinals of Nigeria just to achieve restructuring that favours who exactly?

Saddam Hussein said that he can not abandon Iraq despite losing a third of his country to NATO forces, he said and I quote, "If i dare leave my people in battle, with the swords of our heroes past, every root of my family tree will cease to exist, that is the Arab spirit, we saw it with Gaddafi, Mubarak and Assad, but an igbo man is shamelessly defending a lunatic who abandoned his father in battle.

Failures like kanu will never cease in our midst, till we learn how to treat cowards who emerge from nowhere to threaten our freedom and peaceful coexistence.
Is uwazuruike not roaming freely in igbo land? what did he achieve with his struggle? Uwazuruike's massob was the reason why the south east recorded the least census population, did you hold him accountable? of course not, Uwazuruike's census boycott order is the reason for all the marginalization igbos are passing through today, at the federal level, we can't ask for additional states, why? geographically, we don't have the landmass worse still, our census figure is too low thanks to the stup!dity of Uwazuruike, by now, sane minds like me would be arguing population density as a justification for an additional state, trust me, it will fly, that advantage is lost forever, the federation account is shared on that parameters and igbos have fallen behind everything Nigeria stands for.

Has uwazuruike paid for that error with his life before we tackle hausa- fulani that profited from our ignorance and stup!d!ty? we pampered him and now you have another like him. We won't stop having this cycle of vagabonds that threaten our peace and freedom if we do not learn from the Arab!!

What did Ojukwu achieve? over 3m lives wasted, properties worth billions destroyed, no biafra and a run away patron, by 1968, the main market in onitsha has already earned the reputation of being the largest in West Africa, during the war, it was burned to the ground. imagine what that market would have evolved into without that set back? yet we refuse to learn, if those 3m were here we would have birth the best geniuses in the world, our population with hausa and yoruba will never be in the doubt so is our national cake, we have wasted everything for nothing, where is the Biafra we fought for?

Kanu has started his movement with his hate filled foul and uncouth disposition, once his con artistry expires, he will run back to London, we go and confront the Hausa and yoruba enemies he made for us, if they refuse to accept us (what every sane person will do), then we run home and shout another round of marginalization, another lunatic springs up and the cycle of madness continues.
igbos must make up their minds this time to hang Kanu by the balls if he doesn't get this Biafra.

His only plan for Biafra was an unconstitutional referendum, yet he took pleasure in insulting other regions that would help achieve that purpose, to Amend the constitution of Nigeria requires 2/3rd majority of parliament and all the states house of Assembly, if Buhari gives him a nod for a constitutional amendment, how does he expect a Sokoto house of Assembly he called "Pedophiles" to support that cause?
How about the Lagos state HA when he called Awolowo unprintable names?

What about his so called Referendum? the United nations have since stopped recognising regional but national referendum, that's why they insist on nations to have it in their constitution before executing it, while the scottish referendum (national) was ratified, the crimea (regional) was not, should you succeed in constitutional amendment, North and SW will never give you their votes even if they want to, at least as a punishment for the insult you gave them, that's the real world for you.

Nnamdi kanu must not be allowed to get away with his ill thought out and illogical plan this time around, enough is enough!!

This battle is not for the army alone, no amount of gratitude can replace their sacrifice.

I am somewhat bewildered but not suprised. The first problem is that the depth of Ignorance on battlefield field management and strategy does not lie alone with the public.

I recall that a General giving information to the public about another ambush, declared that the army had responded and rescued all the kidnapped lecturers from Uni Maiguguri and the NNPC staff from that ambush. Within hours the truth began to filter out and he had given complete and utter misinformation.

It showed that we lack the basic communication infrastructure in real time that is needed for battlefield management.

Instead of remaining silent that he could be thought to be wise he did the opposite, saying it was sabotage and information given to the enemy.

Ambushing a NA convoy from all I gather is far from difficult. Firstly, we still go around in huge numbers of soft skinned pick-up trucks into a kill zone. With a small number of light armoured APC's Piranha, the Chinese CS/VP3. We do not still have a definitive IFV (infantry fighting vehicle) in the NA inventory. So essentially we are under equipped.

Add to that the majority of our troops are still using antiquated AK47'S without optic sights.

The pertinent thing about an ambush is the element of suprise. When you are in a kill zone, you are expected to be ambushed it's not a suprise. In that regard you have strategic response immediate and support to mitigate against it.

However, again from what I am told we still believe In the mentality of strength in numbers. Very 1970's going around in noisy 100 vehicle convoys on main roads. It doesn't take rocket science to set up a confrontation in those circumstances.

Look at our procurement level and look at our expenditure our first son and father are very much at work CORRUPTION. This is at the heart of the matter.
Very valid points, the last time I checked, this ambush thing has been a challenge since 2yrs ago, time enough for the army authorities to have a solution.
While I agree that IFVs can solve the problem. I agree more with the guy you quoted.
We have approx 70k Infantry and amoured corps guys, should we provide effective transport at $5m for one IFV, the cost will be enormous.
On the flip side, we can purchase a long endurance recon drone that must scan the area before movement, our attack helos can rain fire if any concentration is spotted, it doesn't matter if there are moles.

Another way of mitigating that is last minute itinerary change and last minute troop reassignment, I feel sorry for this guys. They are dying for nothing!!

Wow wow wow wow!! thats way too much information dude, Soku is significant for a reason I believe you already know, wouldn't go into details on the route subject because the industry has way too much enemies at the moment.
I rather focus on the LNG subject, your concerns are right but I believe we can still carve a niche for ourselves in such a huge market, the only major threat is the Australian entrant into the LNG market, now is the time because of russian-EU sanctions.

The truth is that as a people, we Nigerians are all being butt rammed by the political/economic elite. This butt hurting has gone on for too long that we have gotten quite used to it; the smell, the putrification, the sticky hole and all! Now the people are so pumelled that we don't even know who our real adversaries are anymore.

The elite conveniently channel our anger towards Abuja while between; the state governments, their ministries, assemblies, royal fathers, ethnic group elders, consultative assemblies, youth groups, religious bodies, contractors etc, the entire national commonwealth is being siphoned away everlastingly! And this is across board from Kebbi to Adamawa through Oyo to Lagos through Edo to Enugu to Rivers!!

When Mrs. Deziani looted NNPC, as is being revealed by on-going investigations in Nigeria, UK, Switzerland and the US, she was in cahoot with Kola Aluko and Jide Omokore. Ethnicity didn't matter to this people so long as there is a pie to be ripped.

There has to be an enlightened mass movement against the endemic elite corruption and stealing in Nigeria. We cannot go on like this.
Absolutely!! but I must warn you, the masses are ignorant and have chosen to remain so, nobody bothers to dig deep before taking sides, if I tell a Niger deltan to start a campaign for accountability in governance, I am a lone voice, if a Lunatic like kanu tells them that Biafra is on the way, he gets the support, that's how Nigeria works.

fratermathy:
Oil Spillage has become the sad reality of the Delta today. From the Western end of Ondo to the Eastern end of Akwa Ibom, oil spillage is a recurrent decimal.

In itself, oil spillage is not the problem because it can be cleaned and it is not unique to Nigeria. The problem, however, is the government's lack of interest in the plight of the poor fishermen and riverine dwellers of the Delta who have to face the reality of black oil on their land and waters. The oil companies pay little to no interest to these spills and even when monies are disbursed for cleanup, they end up on the stomach of the so-called Niger Delta leaders.

What about the militants that claim to fight for the rights of the people by blowing up pipes (and by extension causing more spillages)? Many of them have been bought off by the FG. The amount of money the FG spends to feed the ex-militants in a month is enough to clean up a large section of the oil spills in Urhobo/Isokoland. What are the militants doing about it now that their purses are full?

The blame for these spills goes to each and every one of us. To the government, for its negligence and blatant disregard for the welfare of its citizens who have to suffer the bitter taste of black crude, spilt over their water and land. To the Niger Delta leaders who eat the little money that may be used to satiate the plights of the jobless fishermen, farmers, and riverine dwellers who have nowhere to go. To the militants and agitators who use a genuine cause to enrich themselves at the detriment of the people they swore to fight for. To the average Nigerian who turns away from sordid images such as the ones on this thread; who rather pretends not to know what their fellow citizens are facing every day.

The Niger Delta is a mistreated and wealthy bride of Nigeria. She may not know her true worth now or have good leaders and agitators, but a day will come when the bride shall say enough is enough. When that day comes, Nigeria will stand still and see the evil its leaders and the oil companies have done against a once arable and ecologically rich region. No one, not even our closest neighbours, can help us. We alone have to break free of the chains we have allowed ourselves to be entrapped in.
Started well, ended miserably

Notice that in all the pictures, you didn't see a single oil dropping from a well head, so where did the oil come from? they cook, fry and milk crude oil in the creek yet someone comes to claim spill? you sincerely think oil companies spend billions of dollars in oil exploration to discharge it into the environment? hell no!! we know who open pipelines to cook Diesel.

However, its only a fool that won't realise that by omission or commission,Nnamdi Kanu has become a formidable force with an ardent followership, thus confronting him or any wing affiliated to IPOB would only make him more popular and may eventually turn him to a cult figure.
Kanu's ego needs to be massaged and a deliberate and proactive step taken to reintegrate the Ibos in the mainstream of governance. The position of SGF now vacant and other strategic ones that will soon become vacant is a golden opportunity and a window of opportunity for any sensible goverment to gradually and deliberately make the Ibos start feeling a sense of belonging.
IPOB and Kanu can at this late hour only be defeated by ideology and deliberate inclusiveness, not any archaic throwback to military confrontation of any arm of IPOB.
These senators are not foolish.Perhaps a few of the intellectual and deep thinking ones are seeing the trajectory Kanu is charting and have eaten the humble pie to acknowledge him as a formidable force to be reckoned with, distasteful as it sounds.

You are missing a vital point, Nigeria has a comparative advantage on the global stage which is our huge oil and gas reserves of excellent quality, we have equally sunk in Trillions of dollars in that regards over the years, it is f00lish to abandon oil & gas, our best shot at diversification is maximizing our oil & gas potentials.

Why do we need to collect $2.3b loan to build train infrastructure that will earn us naira when we can invest $2.1b in an LNG train? 1ton of LNG is $480 today, imagine what that will contribute to our federation account?
Nigerians have lazy leaders who lack the ability to think, once they come up with ridiculous ideas, everybody runs with it, we are investing in agriculture, oh yea!! how much forex does it guarantee at the risk of hunger and high cost of food?
other solid minerals in Nigeria are not of super global quality so no advantage, oil and gas remains our best bet, this administration is f00ling around economy wise, with time, it will dawn on them that $2.1b will be more beneficial to LNG than a lousy train coach.

Wrong. It's for the domestic market since there are no immediate accompanying plans to boost export LNG capacity. In any case, the gas sector is being liberalized to eliminate (or reduce) the arbitrage between the two markets.

At this stage, we do need all the gas we can get for our own generation and don't you know it's a tragedy hearing that Lagos could be planning LNG imports for its embedded power project.
The gas gathering projects are mostly geared towards LNG expansion basically for export, you want diversification right? here it is.
the kolo creek node ended at Soku where it is channeled to LNG for export, that's the plan.

13% derivation earnings from FAAC collected by our oil producing states has run into trillions of Naira in the last 10 years.

Where is the moneyhuh
Point of correction, 13% isn't the only amount, let me explain how it works, 13% is a derivation of what they produce that aside, what every state contributed into the federation account is given to them by 3%, that is NDDC, again a fraction of the FG budget fund the Ministry of Niger delta, then the Amnesty programme (I have no idea what percentage of our Federation account it represents), for people who didn't invest a kobo?
The sultanates collect only 5% as oil rent, here we give nearly 20% with no investment yet they are whining.

More earnings for the government but more poverty to the Niger Delta people.
Money earned from oil has oiled every part of the country except the owners of the resources. Lagos,Abuja and other cities were built with the money gotten from oil but the Niger delta as a whole is stricken by poverty with no roads, pipe borne water and good health facilities.

The injustice in this country will only be corrected by total restructuring where there will be total devolution of powers and resource control.
Are we supposed to be sympathetic? hell no!! the bulk of the money generated from this resources still go back to the Niger delta, when it is election season, Niger deltans of Rivers extraction will vote a tout like Wike, then turn around a year after to complain of marginalization and poverty, I hardly sympathise with you guys anymore.
Your Governors are your injustice, stop disturbing Abuja.
