Hello Everyone, Please i need some answers for a friend. Her situation is quite uncommon. She has 3 elder siblings in Canada who entered illegally (They crossed the border between US and Canada) for reasons best known to them and are now refugees in Canada. One of them just recently got her invitation to apply for PR with her 3 kids, after her court hearing while the others are awaiting court hearing. Now she is afraid this situation might affect her application, because she recently applied for a visiting visa with her parents. Unfortunately, she was denied but her parents were granted visas. Denial was based on their lack of conviction that she would come back to nigeria after her visit despite the fact that she has been to other countries more 13 times (US, UK, Dubai etc); schooled in the UK and yet she never overstayed. Now she's really confused on what to do. She also feels that her siblings in Canada might have influenced their decision because she listed their names in the family information section of her application. Please what can she do about this? Will this be a problem for her? Thanks. |
Hello peeps. Pls i need advice. I submitted my application in Feb with my residence permit which expired on April 5, 2019. I renew it every year. Now that it has expired, i plan to renew it this week. Do i need to raise a CSE and upload the new permit which will expire in April 2020? Thanks. |

Ifeoma77:Thanks a lot Ifeoma. You’re too much abeg. God bless you |
Ifeoma77:Hi @Ifeoma77. Unfortunately, there are no Sierra Leoneans on CanadaVisa Forum. I just reached out to a contact at the Ministry of Justice. She said the Police Clearance Certificate is issued by the Criminal Investigation Headquarters in Sierra Leone and that the criminal record information is maintained at the Ministry of Justice of the Sierra Leone. So the police certificate issuing authority in Sierra Leone is the CID HQ. As @joo2018 advised, should i go ahead and raise a CSE to explain this to IRCC? |
Thanks @joo2018. My AOR is Feb 1. Currently waiting for medical passed and biometrics. I already submitted an LOE for some other items but forgot to include this PCC ish. Should i raise a CSE? Thanks again. joo2018: |
Hello. Pls i have a question. Since i read the story about the guy whose application was cancelled because he submitted a state-owned PCC and not FBI PCC, i have been paranoid about my application. I submitted just last week. I lived in Sierra Leone for 8 months in 2017 and i got the PCC from their CID HQ in Freetown. On the CIC site, they said the Ministry of Justice in Freetown is the designated organization. It happens that the CID is the only organisation that issues PCCs in Sierra Leone so i went ahead and submitted. I'm thinking i should have written an LOE to explain this. Should i be worried? ![]() |

Engr2000:Hi Engr2000. Thanks for your response. I meant my bank statement, the details of the transaction are not properly aligned though it is printed on the bank’s letter head. Was just wondering if i should go ahead and upload it as it is. I have attached it again for you to see. Thanks.

The bank SOA is from GTBank in another african country. It is prepared on the bank’s letter head, i cropped off the account details section at the top. Ok. Thanks. Will tell the bank to re-print. MacShiff: |
Happy weekend all. Please for PoF, i noticed that the transactions in my bank statement are not properly aligned (as seen in the attached image). Should i go ahead and submit this? Or it does not matter?

Hi everyone. I am a JJC here and have been keeping up with the thread. Pls i have 2 questions to clarify. I claimed points from my elder brother who just landed in Canada last month. He is staying with a friend in Calgary. 1. He recently opened an account with Canada TD Trust. I want to use his bank statement for proof of his address. Seeing that his bank account was just opened a few weeks ago with just 1 or 2 transactions, is this okay? He also said he will send me a copy of his phone bill on Jan 12. This is the first bill he will have in his name. Will this be ok too? The bank statement and phone bill are the only documents he can provide as proof of address. 2. For sibling status in Canada, can i use his COPR? His PR card has not been issued yet. Thank you. |
