In the mid of all the outcry and noise about how dishonest Nigerians can be; even among the different contractors/sellers here in nairaland property section, this guy “Gboyegba” stand out (Funny part is I only just check his name as at the time am writing this review). I contact him for my house roofing base on my due diligent on nairaland among his various peers and he proof me right.
He was very honest, dependable and reliable; from the measurements period to when the job is completed. He displays an extra level of commitment which is hardly seen among his peers, he understands the value of proposition of returning customers and referrals. He kept me updated from start to end. Both himself and his installers do not see my naija representative as a threat to their business relationship with me, they interact cordial and respectively and took time to address all concerns professionally.
His installers are awesome people, they completed the installation on a Saturday and come back to site on Sunday (on their own discretion) to double check their work after it rains to be sure there is no leaking! This is after someone stole one of their installer phone on site ooo.
For this, they earn my respects, future roofing business, and friendship. You can give him job and go to sleep; knowing fully well, he will delivered on his promises and quotation. 2 Likes |

I know but for someone with a professional job in Nigeria and relocating abroad, please don toy with the ideal of making your move secret to your Nigeria last employer. For usa job, background checks may reach out to them and their response will determine your faith of getting the job. 16 Likes |

Yes I said our money. All the natural resources in this country that accounts for over 90% of the country's revenue belong to all of us and should be used for common good not by a selected few for their own individual needs and without any accountability to the people they hold their positions in trust for. I am a private business person myself and have never depended on what this country can do for me because that would only lead to disappointment. All I'm pointing out is the absurdity of a government claiming to champion a "buy Nigeria to grow Nigeria" campaign while at the same time doing the exact opposite of what they are championing I get your point but my view on the subject matter is solely for us not to completely blind ourselves to government policies all in the name of unbalance in the system. They said, if trees fell un top trees, the top one you go remove first. 1 Like |

So all the people in government can ride official cars made outside Nigeria when he have made in Nigeria cars, they can go abroad for the treatment of their ailments when we have hospitals in Nigeria and they do all this with our money without caring of the effect on the local industry. So government business is free of any responsibility to the people who foot the bill with their taxes but private business is good for regulations Am a Nigerian like you but the different between us is that "am not waiting for what the country can do for me but trying to understand the country and it's policies to my advantage. The president sold himself to Nigerians in 2015 and that's why they voted for him. He cannot be using tax payers money to treat himself in UK while trying to bar others from using their own hard earned money from getting the best services in furtherance of their own businesses. I will not advocate for the president as a person but u need a little lesson to know d different between government business and private business. Simply saying Government job is to provide conducive environment for business through policy like the promotion of local content when the private business are required to taken advantage of government policy to furtherance of their own business. |

Tungy: I see no reason why government should step into the issue of where they should shoot music videos since its not the government that is sponsoring them. Music is business, shooting music videos outside the country will give musicians more popularity which brings more profit than shooting it in Nigeria, if they) the music industry don't get their return on investment(ROI) in shooting video in Nigeria , will the government reimburse them? We all know the answer to that,so government should let them be and face major issues troubling the nation like boko haram, fulani herdsman, Kidnappers, greedy politicians and so on. But it is okay for Government to give them billions of naira grants through Boi. look it up and educate your ignorance. |

Nosikebit: i doubt you have been reading my replies, there are a million ways to achieve a target and some methods would actually cause more problems as it is ... There are better ways to help that industry if the govt thinks it needs help and these method or strategy or whatever you might call it is the least of them all. Before they arrived at this conclusion have they even conducted a poll to ask nigerians who are the major stakeholders and consumers of this industry if they would prefer an all made nigeria production? Have they considered why they even go abroad for shoots? Have they tried to correct the possible problems prompting them to shoot abroad ? Whats the basis for their conclusion? Have they helped to curb piracy? Have they made the structure standard such that artistes are entitled to their royalties? Have they built structures that will attract foreign entertainers to shoot in nigeria frequently? your statements are generalist in nature and not address the core to the policy. The local contents we are talking about is gear towards increase the amount of local contents in music videos and restriction shotting of music videos abroad. because your vague statement of royalties is out of place, do the artists showing the video mostly in SA give them royalties. Are you saying the same video shot abroad are still not pirated. Why will a foreign artists shot video in naija when naija artists are not willing to lead. Common, we know their are challenges but do we keep complaining and not do anything. |

holysainbj: It beats my imagination to know that some people are supporting the FG on this Is this how loopsided our reasoning have become? Is this how decayed our minds have turned within 2yrs of APC rule? Is this sentimental we have become?
A president, I mean president of the country is outside the shores of the country for medical care and is banning people from also taking their own problems outside Like isn't this supposed to be a joke? Are we really going to be at loggerheads even when we know the truth but for allegiance sake, tribal sake, religious sake turn a blind eye May God help us all, we'll survive against all odds is d president going to sell his well being to Nigerian or the artists been stop to not spent his money how he likes. But selling a products to Nigerian means the FG has an obligation under the constitution to regulate and formulate policy to guide such processes. |

Nosikebit: Mr JT2010 tell the apc govt to build powerful event centres that can host the biggest award shows in the world so that giants such as MTV, CHANNEL O, BET who knows maybe grammys could be tempted to grace our country and help our already dead tourism sector .. thats the way a 21st century govt thinks and not by restricting people. Is this 1960? Contents drive the entertainment industry. is mtv or channel o a physical structure, all of this are contents 1 Like |

Nosikebit: dont contradict yourself... In a business if your customers dont like your products you cant continue production of that product. so in the same vein if nigerians never liked the foreign shot videos or films these entertainers would have stopped doing so a long time ago. But the fact that foreign production increases these days it speaks volume of what the consumer wants. Which at the end of the day is nigerians . Come to think of it we have many videos shot in nigeria. Its just a matter of choice and the concept of ur video my previous post address the issue of government using this policy to macro manage the contents distributed to the Nigeria viewers and like noted, the policy take about growth of the local content in music videos and restriction not bad. All of this are not casting stone, the artists should engage the government to work out balance policy than for one to just drop away the idea under no basic alternative. |

Nosikebit: in what manner will the policy help it .. by restricting its creativity Come on think ... That industry is already employing a lot of youths. The make up artistes are nigerians, the directors are nigerians, the models 80 percent are nigerians, the the producers are nigerians ... That industry has done its bit ... Even if clearence peters is going to heaven to shoot a video its still employed nigerians that makes up his crew so whats ur point . Ask yourself why mtv always host mama awards in south africa . Thats because they have event centres that match international standards. And out artistes go there to recieve awards yearly which means at least once a year entertainers from all over the globe visits south africa and spend their money in south africa which is good for the economy. WHY HAVEN'T THIS GOVT THOUGHT OF BUILDING AN EVENT CENTRE THAT WOULD BEAT THAT OF SOUTH AFRICANS SO THAT WE COULD HAVE A CHANCE TO ATTRACT THESE ENTERTAINMENT GIANTS TO GRCE OUR COUNTRY THEREBY HELPING OUR COUNTRY'S ECONOMY THROUGH TOURISM ... RESTRICTING MOVEMENT IS STUPID .. INVESTMENT IS KEY TO MAKE ANY INDUSTRY THRIVE who is the songs and video for? let us start from there. Are you saying creative in d song is done from abroad because I still cannot get why this restriction of creative's seem to be coming from? |
Celebrities / Re: APC Replies P'square On Ban On Video Shooting Abroad: You Are A Son Of Darkness by jt2010: 6:32am On Jul 18, 2017 |
Nosikebit: the entertainment industry is the only industry thats still growing rapidly despite the the economic downtown and non government interference so why do the govt think its wise to start placing some sort of embargo on the only industry selling nigeria positively in the international market ... We have a lot of more serious issues on ground .. let them focus on the more important ones , the entertainers never asked for this, so why bother themselves .. its better they channel that goodwill to more pressing issues . Thats what we yearn How does the said growth in the industry reflect on our GDP. what about the billions of naira BOI advance to the industry. The policy to my best view is aimed towards tapping the industry to boost Nigeria economy in terms of attract more tourist to Nigeria, employ the unemployed, improve man power and technical know how within the industry. Nigeria is has a market for their music, so let us tap the advance when we still do it's call opportunity cost. |
