How Western Media Would Cover Minneapolis If It Happened In Another Country by

If we talked about what is happening in Minneapolis the same way we talk about events in a foreign country, here’s how the Western media would cover it. The quotes and those “quoted” in the piece below are fictional.

In recent years, the international community has sounded the alarm on the deteriorating political and human rights situation in the United States under the regime of Donald Trump. Now, as the country marks 100,000 deaths from the coronavirus pandemic, the former British colony finds itself in a downward spiral of ethnic violence. The fatigue and paralysis of the international community are evident in its silence, America experts say.

The country has been rocked by several viral videos depicting extrajudicial executions of black ethnic minorities by state security forces. Uprisings erupted in the northern city of Minneapolis after a video circulated online of the killing of a black man, George Floyd, after being attacked by a security force agent. Trump took to Twitter, calling black protesters “THUGS”’ and threatening to send in military force. “When the looting starts, the shooting starts!” he declared.

“Sure, we get it that black people are angry about decades of abuse and impunity,” said G. Scott Fitz, a Minnesotan and member of the white ethnic majority. “But going after a Target crosses the line. Can’t they find a more peaceful way, like kneeling in silence?”

Ethnic violence has plagued the country for generations, and decades ago it captured the attention of the world, but recently the news coverage and concern are waning as there seems to be no end in sight to the oppression. “These are ancient, inexplicable hatreds fueling these ethnic conflicts and inequality," said Andreja Dulic, a foreign correspondent whose knowledge of American English consists of a semester course in college and the occasional session on the Duolingo app. When told the United States is only several hundred years old, he shrugged and said, “In my country, we have structures still from the Roman empire. In their culture, Americans think that a 150-year-old building is ancient history.”

Britain usually takes an acute interest in the affairs of its former colony, but it has also been affected by the novel coronavirus. “We’ve seen some setbacks with the virus, but some Brits see the rising disease, staggering unemployment and violence in the States and feel as if America was never ready to govern itself properly, that it would resort to tribal politics,” said Andrew Darcy Morthington, a London-based America expert. During the interview, a news alert informed that out of the nearly 40,000 coronavirus deaths in the United Kingdom, 61 percent of the health-care workers who have died were black and or have Middle Eastern backgrounds. Morthington didn’t seem to notice. “Like I was saying, we don’t have those American racism issues here.”

Trump, a former reality-TV host, beauty pageant organizer and businessman, once called African nations “shithole countries." But he is now taking a page from African dictators who spread bogus health remedies, like Yahya Jammeh of Gambia, who claimed he could cure AIDS with bananas and herbal potions and pushed his treatments onto the population, resulting in deaths. Trump appeared to suggest injecting bleach and using sunlight to kill the coronavirus. He has also said he has taken hydroxycholoroquine, a drug derived from quinine, a long-known jungle remedy for malaria. Doctors have advised against using the treatment to prevent or treat the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Americans desperate to flee will face steep challenges to cross borders, as mismanagement of the coronavirus and ethnic tensions in the country have made them undesirable visitors. But some struggling American retailers, like Neiman Marcus, are hoping to lure shoppers with traditional 19th-century colonial travel fantasies through neutral khakis and cargo shorts as part of a “Modern Safari” collection. “Utilitarian details & muted tones meet classic femininity,” reads a caption under the photograph of a white woman. Pith helmets were not included in the accessory lineup.
Some nations are considering offering black Americans special asylum. “Members of the white ethnic majority are forming armed militia groups, demanding their freedom to go back to work for the wealthy class who refer to workers as ‘human capital stock,’ despite the huge risk to workers,” said Mustapha Okango, a Nairobi-based anthropologist. “This is a throwback to the days when slavery was the backbone of the American economy. Black slaves were the original essential workers, and they were treated as non-human stock.”

Africa could be an ideal asylum destination, as several African countries have managed to contain the coronavirus outbreak through aggressive early measures and innovations in testing kits. Senegal, a nation of 16 million, has only seen 41 deaths. “Everyone predicted Africa would fall into chaos,” Okango said. “It is proof that being a black person in this world doesn’t kill you, but being a black person in America clearly can.” The African Union did not respond to requests for comment, but it released a statement that said “we believe in American solutions for American problems.”

Around the world, grass-roots organizations, celebrities, human rights activists and even students are doing what they can to raise money and awareness about the dire situation in America.

“It’s sad that the Americans don’t have a government that can get them coronavirus tests or even monthly checks to be able to feed their families,” said Charlotte Johnson, a 18-year-old Liberian student activist, who survived the Ebola pandemic. “100,000 people are dead, cities are burning, and the country hasn’t had a day of mourning? Lives don’t matter, especially not black lives. It’s like they’re living in a failing state.”

The sole takeaway from this is

How the whole protest thing got hijacked from the beginning.

African Americans got played big time and it only showed their vulnerability to be used a tool for a means . Vested interests will only exploit them in the future more.

Isn't it interesting the no of whites who joined the protests and then the riots . At the end of it who takes the blame ? And importantly who becomes more vulnerable to exploitation ?

Thankfully some African Americans realised it , wanted to turn it back , but they were too late and outnumbered.

In the coming days any nationalist government in any country of the world is going to face similar riots / chaos in which vested interests will target sections of the society and exploit the emotions to create chaos to serve their interests .

Soros and his liberal cahoots must be smiling big time.

He did the same 5 years back when he engineered a similar incident back home with the help of 200 American citizens of Ind... descent and elements within c.ia with the help of whatsapp and social media.

Long story short , never burn your own home . If there are problems sort it by any means possible but don't go burning your own home.

I have no problem that America got a taste of its own medicine .

Now hopefully the American nationalists will deal with the leftist power centers within their establishment who create trouble in own and importantly in other countries.
I have thought of this.
I must admit that I am enjoying every bit of this riot. Yes... Let them know how it feels distabilizing other nation/region and leaving their citizens at the mercy of God. People having no food, no home, no clothes to wear and there are no hope in sight. ISIS selling naked women and men in an open market like in the days of slave trade. In Libya, they will tore a living human being apart and remove their organs for sell. All of this is caused by America and their evil supporters using democracy we all seem to cherish as an excuse.

Well, Riot of this type is usually caused by financial insecurities. 80% of the protesters are not actually protestering to revenge the death of a black man. They are protesting because of financial insecurities and frustration. With more than 40million out of job especially from blacks and with the country in recession, some of them have found insolence in distabilized environment. For them, It is better they live in environment of choas where they will loot shops and steal freely than staying idle with no hope of getting a job.
Many people didn't even wanted to join the protrst but they have no option than to find a way to eat which some have done through stealing.
For now every country is waiting for their own pond of flesh. I know by now China must have been monitoring the situation with an intent to cause more choas. Iran is the same, including Iraq.
Democratic party is making good use of the situation. In fact Donald Trump will definitely lose the incoming election.

So it begs the question as to who is really mad - the leaders or the people, isn't it ?
The leaders are not mad neither the people. Each group believes in what they are fighting for. Each group has a valid reason to be there and the people really understands them.

You have already prejudiced the notion of "Constructive Criticism " because you it seems you have a definition of what you think it is or what it should be. As a consequence you allege they have other agenda. Your perception is also reflection of your experience that may cause you to see criticism as an affront or attack.

Finally what is the other camp you have mentioned please expand.
Hmmm...you are too stubborn.
I will be brief because of time

Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one.

This guy below doesn't not fall into that category. I wonder where you will place him.

He is just too negative and non progressive

And for your information, we have three type of criticism. We have;
1. Constructive criticism
2. Negative criticism
3. And Destructive criticism

As for you, I don't have anything against your write up but your inability to give up even when the truth is so glaring is your weakness.
Your write up is good with some deep research. We can call that Constructive criticism

I don't necessarily agree with you.

There are three camps it seems to me here.

A. The Nigeria is the best military in Africa and every decision made in the context of strategy, procurement is the best. Anything to the contrary is subversive and should be opposed by any means foul or fair. In the midst of that narrative is sycophantic praise singing of the COAS , PMB and a few others.

B. The NEUTRALS passing a few comments here or there but mainly observing, the contentions between the A and C positions.

C. Constructive criticizers , questioning actions on the basis of rational and validity, making comparative analysis they are describes as LIARS (but without substantiation ) by the A group. It is alleged that some of their comments are removed by moderators.

They only way the thread is pulled down is when people descent to the gutter with vitriolic rhetoric and emotive based arguments not substantive and name calling.
I don't quite agree with the bolded. We actually have Constructive criticizers which is good anyway but the group of people in question are not Constructive in their criticism. They have other agenda which is not yet claer to me.

In that case, we have four camps if not more than that number.

The thread on twitter worth reading . Really sad . Heavy corruption in the military starting from 1980 that saw a lot of Generals, even Colonels become owners of large tracts of lands for farms and billions in real estate and stashed cash, led to the neglect of this vital equipment.once bitten twice shy. https://twitter.com/DefenseNigeria/status/1264062629007556608?s=19[/quote]I almost cried reading this piece.
We don't have threats in the past was just because we have what it takes to destroy the threats. Now that we have destroyed the destroyer of threats, we have more threats than we can ever imagined. As I am speaking, we have foreign bases all round us waiting in case we should explode.
For those of you saying that we have no threats, I shouldn't be the one to tell you that we have more threats, possible more than Egypt and Algeria. That threats has not been practically pronounced doesn't mean its absence. Although the said threats has not been fully matured, we should be prepared possible for the worst.
Just like Iran, we are gradually being surrounded by foreign bases and troops in name of fighting terrorist and other mini excuses but their true intentions has not yet been revealed. And if they could gain entrance into Nigeria, that means Africa as a whole is finished. It will be worst than slave trade. Forget democracy, it doesn't work in this case and we all that. Western countries can plan your downfall for more than 30 years and still execute it perfectly when the time comes using the same "democracy" as an excuse. Democracy is more perfectly written/explained in paper than in real life practice.
