Olominira:You are wasting your time. I don't know if some people were born like that. I couldn't read his comment to the end. So much of ignorance and illiteracy packed together in one write up. This shows the ruins in our educational system. |
Simplyleo:Leave them, Nigerians are always ungrateful. Trump called our president all kinds of name because of our president refusal to sell off Nigeria. Most Nigerians won't understand the importance of that little thing our president did and they will never want to. |
When Nigeria is trying to be self sufficient in food production? If I were buhari I would have taken the same stand |

It is true. I think @nemesis8u should give us more information as he is in a better position. The truth is yet to come out.

Things are getting bad on the other side Three Indian soldiers have been killed in a clash with Chinese forces in Ladakh in the disputed Kashmir region. The deaths are the first in the disputed border area in at least 45 years, and follow rising military tensions between the nuclear powers. The Indian army said senior military officials from both sides were "meeting to defuse the situation", adding that both sides suffered casualties. Bbcnews.com |
I think Nigeria should do the same with it's neighbor Equatorial Guinea Constructs Wall on Border With Cameroon To Check Illegal Migration Equatorial Guinea Constructs Wall on Border With Cameroon To Check Illegal Migration Credit: The Wall Street Journal Within the past one month, there have been skirmishes between the security forces of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea over the construction of a wall by Equatorial Guinea at Kye-Ossi on its side of the border between the two countries. These confrontations have led to the displacement of several people from the border town of Kye-Ossi to the hinterland and to the return of some Equatorial -Guineans living in Cameroonian border villages to their country. While the government of Equatorial Guinea has continued to officially insist that there is no such wall being constructed on its 189km long border with Cameroon, there is broad clear evidence to the contrary. Semi-official sources and the local media in Equatorial Guinea reveal that what is being branded by the Cameroon media and officialdom as a Trump-type border “is actually an enclosure constructed within its territory, far away from the frontier, to prevent illegal entry into Equatorial Guinean territory by individuals bent on avoiding the official routes. “The road linking the two countries is totally open and is the sole authorised entry point for those wishing to carry out legal transactions.” However, some analysts insist that by constructing the border wall, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea and his compatriots intentionally want to subvert the sub-regional and continental integration accords ratified by their country. A political analyst,. Annie Claire Ntamack, said “a wall constituting the border between Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea is a veritable shame. “An infrastructure like that one is a direct opposite to conventions and international treaties, not forgetting the principles of the African Union and even those of the Economic Community of Central African States as well as the international organisations to which the two states belong.” In a rather tacit acceptance of the existence of the wall, border police of the former Spanish territory said “the real problem is that Cameroonians are in the process of illegally invading our country. “With life difficult in their country, many young Cameroonians have decided to brave it to Equatorial Guinea in search of new openings in their lives..” Young Cameroonians from Olamze near Kye-Ossi and Evouzok in Ma’an Sub-division use bush paths to enter Equatorial Guinea and sell their farm products at more than double the prices they can get at home in Cameroon. “It has been several years since Equatorial Guinea started thinking about constructing a border wall at the frontier with Cameroon and the COVID-19 pandemic has just come to give the country an added reason for the necessity of the wall,” said Fabien Mvo’o, a young fisherman in Kye-Ossi. According to Mvo’o, Cameroon should invest in structures that would attract young Cameroonians and make them prefer to stay at home rather than seeing greener pastures only on the Equatorial Guinean side of the border. “Just see the difference between the Cameroonian and Equatorial Guinean sides of the border at night. While most of Kye-Ossi is in darkness at night, Ebibeyin on the other side of the border shines like daylight. The difference is like day and night,” Mvo’o said. The authorities of the two countries, however, said they were working towards a lasting solution to the problem, which involves the clear demarcation of their borders. “Today, no local person can give the exact border limits between the two countries. This is an issue that must be solved at the strategic level between the two countries”, the Governor of Cameroon’s South Region, Felix Nguele Nguele said after a meeting last week with Juan Javier Ndong Engono, Governor of Equatorial Guinea’s Kie Ntem Region. “I am satisfied with the outcome of this meeting because when the population is not in peace, we the authorities cannot be in peace too. It has been agreed that for the moment, the absence of border limits should not prevent a farmer from going to harvest what he/she planted,” Engono said. While the two governments continue the search for a lasting solution to the border problem, it is hoped that the security forces of the two countries would desist from trigger-happy attitudes that could lead to the further displacement of local populations on both sides of the frontier. |

Thank God |
Egalitarian1:This your point would have gone far but no country is practicing full democracy even in a saner country. So it is better to be individually against than to be regionally against. Once a president indentify a region that is against his political progress, he will fight back or he may not like that region. That is just human behavior and it happen to everyone. Unless that region show their loyalty in another way, the president will always have poor opinion about that particular region even after stepping down. Democracy is on the papers but we are just humans. |
HeadShot:Yes? Even up till today i can't find anything wrong with that statement. it is just that it was politically wrong. In real life scenario, we all will feel the same way. For you, you may not say it but you will never treat everyone equally in life whether you like it or not. Those that supported you to become who you are will always be your first. |
overall90:Democracy is not what made them so developed. They just used a good strategy and even before they invented democracy, they always ahead of others. And for your point, you are blinded by hate, so I can't explain more things to you. It is a waste of time because you have made your stand clear |
Igbochief001:I would advise you to leave democracy out of this matter. Democracy is good on paper but impossible to practice it. No country is fully practicing democracy now. This is just pure politics and I don't blame buhari for it. And to tell you the truth, PDP did the worst, PDP didn't even come to buhari in terms of development in southeast. This just the pure truth. This administration is focusing more on infrastructure and other regions are getting the biggest part of it |
History555:I am not talking about bihari, I am talking about national politics. Buhari alone can not make decisions alone. If we have good representative like Southwest, things wouldn't have been this messy. |
Mel003:Train on the rail line is not really important, what is important is the rail line. The train can always be changed. It is like buying a car, you can always change it when you have the money as far as the road is there to drive it. |
kingzizzy:I never said that southeast is the problem and i never said of anybody helping someone to become rich. I am talking about national politics and in politics, you have to compromise. Southeast needs to come together and push forward an engender. As things are now in national politics, it seems like we are always the enemy with nothing to benefit from it. Looking at how things are going, they are leaving us behind. Railway cost billions of dollars, how much is even second niger bridge? Little above half a billion dollars and we are celebrating. Look at government institutions in southeast and other region. From schools to hospitals. Do you think that government don't have good hospitals? Just travel to Lagos and Kano. Do you think that government don't have good schools? Just travel to ABU and OAU. Even a state sponsored hospitals in Kano is better than all the hospital in southeast states combine. We are losing and when you are losing, you go back and restrategize. For your point, yes I agreed that dangote became rich through the government but he is not the only one that passed through that path even some Igbo sons, became rich through government help. Dangote is just business driven and he knows what he want. |
With worries in my heart, I decided to make this post. What worries me? Our envy and hatred among ourselves and lack of cooperation in Igboland. Our inability to strategize in national politics has caused us a lot. Our inability to diversify, that means putting our egg in one basket in national politics has made us look like haters of other tribes. This is not time for chest beating but a time for deep reflection. It is time to look into our national political strategics. With deep shock again i received another wonderful approval news of # 123billion for the ibadan to Kaduna rail line. My first shock is the non inclusion of southeast in recently approved borrowing plan by federal government. Southeast now, is lacking behind in infrastructural development. Our governors are steadily looting with no regard to no one. We are not even talking about it because it seems like we derive joy in talking and condemning the happenings in other region. As this present administration focuses their energy on rail reconstruction and rehabilitation, I think it is left for us to make sure we didn't miss out from this wonderful opportunity. Southeast needs three strategic rail line and tracks, which are; "SOUTHEAST - LAGOS" (for commercial purposes which we are known for), "SOUTHEAST to MAIDUGURU" (for food security), "SOUTHEAST to ABUJA" (for administrative purposes). Then, I will highlight the important of rail lines for the southeast; ---- High speed over long distance.: with 572.2km from Enugu to lagos, it will take 9hrs for a journey by road transportation but with current acquired train that we have in the country which has the speed of 150km/hr, it will take us only 4hrs. And with the fastest train out there, which has the speed of 431km/hr, it will only take us 1hr: 30min to reach Lagos. As a business focused tribe, time is very important. ----Rail line can last for 200+ years. Unlike road, rail can last for hundreds of years, Generation to generation with proper maintenance. -----Rail is cheaper than both road and air transport. -----Rail is the safest means of transportation. Note it when I say safest means of transportation, no means of transportation even came close. With rampant road accident, our loved ones dying from the hands of reckless drivers. We should be calling for more safe way of transportation. ----shipping via train is more environmentally friendly; carrying capacity of a railway is not limited. It's capacity is elastic which can easily be increased by adding more wagon. ----it is suitable for carrying bulky and heavy loads. We can't afford to deprive of our children this benefits because of bad politics. Our children in future will see this people enjoying what meant for all of us and they will definitely ask us questions. Politics of hatred is the worst politics anybody can play. It chases investors away. It goes along to makes you enemy of the government at the central. Look at Southwest alone, look at the number of investment they are receiving from both foreign and local investors. From dangote refinery, eko Atlantic.....etc. Since dangote started his business, he never thought of investing big in southeast because of obvious reasons. How can he invest when at the slightest provocation, you went on burning dangote trucks and his little investment in the southeast. Even our very own people are investing outside our region citing witch-hunt from their people. What I understand from Nigeria at this present time is that every tribe is finding solution for their problems. Look at the Northern part of the country, from abolition of almajiri to building of modern first class Ruga settlements in Kano and other northern parts. Their problem now is insecurities and poverty. Ask an average Igbo man the problem of his region, he will tell you that northerners are the only problem they have. As things are going, one day they will give us this Biafra some people wanted so badly when they achieve their aim. Look at how they are connecting regions with railways and look at the map. You can see they are purposely sidelining southeast out of Nigeria. *Delta-Abeokuta-Itekpe (completed) *Abuja-kaduna (completed) *Abuja light rail (completed) *Lagos-kaduna (completed) *Lagos-ibadan (about to be completed) *Abuja-kano (money approved) *Lagos-calaber (money approved) *Ibadan-kano (money approved). They have already connected others region and for those that think south-shouth will be part of Biafra, I hope you can see the plan now. If we do not play the right politics now, envy for other tribe will only massively increase. Yes, it is just so natural especially when you see your mate or competitors leaving you behind. This happens to every individual irrespective of who you are or whom you intend to be. That you can control it doesn't mean it does not happen to you. And this envy and hatred has the potential to transmit to generations. Look at our road, health care system, UNIVERSITIES, markets and tell me you are not feeling anything. Tell me you happy at this present condition. Never try to divert the blame because it can only make it worst. The blame is on ourselves. No region can do without the government at the central.

Nigerians are very ignorant and drives joy in attacking their own government and praise other government for doing the same. When France implementated the same policy, Nigerians are the first to praise them for that. |
Gerrard59:We are not talking how rich India is, we all that they have one of the most poorest citizens. Many of their women are into prostitutio, not even a good environment but in the bushes. Stop talking rubbish |
komekn:I agreed without reservation and I give you 5 star for this your post. I must say, you really impressed me with your broader knowledge on international affairs. Not that Nigeria is just looking like zombie. They have been trying to shrugge off the devilish effect of the USA government, but me and you know that is almost impossible. For now, USA indirectly controls the social media in this country, so they control the narrative as well. They have many spies and agents in this part of the world both in form of human rights groups, NGO, top political brats, and others, such that in any act of disobedience from any president, what they need to do is just to press the button. |
Litmus:I didn't know someone is also thinking in this direction. Nice one |
SamuelAnyawu:I would like to read the book |

BabaOwen:Change your mindset to positivity. I didn't condemn you for posting bad news but let it be balanced between good and bad news. People feared that anytime you post here, it is all about bad news. Sometimes try and contribute something positive to the thread. This is a millitary discussion thread and not a news site. |
But why is UNN in such a mess |
nemesis8u:I think the bolded is what you should have said instead of awarding the price to a political party. USA is USA irrespective of political party involved. They have long selfish strategic regional plan for their country. Whatever the plan is, they follow it whether good or bad. |
If i ever leave the Northeast alive i am going to definitely write my own part of this Insurgency story.
