Phones / Re: Five Reasons Why You Should Stop Using All Internet Cheats ASAP. by judoskybj(m): 1:24pm On Mar 08, 2016
EBUBS:
Due to the high cost of data/internet in Nigeria, Nigerians are getting so used to the habit of looking for short-cut/awoof, mostly among the students. Inasmuch as using these cheats has advantages, their disadvantages counts more.
1. ITS STEALING: Stealing is defined as the illegal act of taking another person's property without that person's freely-given consent. the truth can be bitter you know but it must be told(lol). That someone is a thief is not only when he carries a gun, illegal means of acquiring services from providers is also stealing.
2. KILLS TIME: since its free you would want to use it really well, at least before the network blocks the cheat (nawao). You've done allot, only to realize that you've not even used up to a gig, (omoh). you then start looking for unimportant and irrelevant things to do online to make sure you use it to the fullest, meanwhile there are important tasks ahead of you. This will eventually lead to more and more procrastination.
3. SLEEPLESS NIGHTS: As per unlimited things you didn't pay for na, you then try to download all the (irrelevant) games and movies you need so badly, but the network disconnects at times so you need to stay awake to make sure you connect back. you then check the time only to realize its 4am (lol) and you either work or lectures to attend to by 7am. (Na only serious coffee go save you). The funniest part is that you'll repeat same things the next day since the internet is faster at night.
4. PORN ADDICTION: You told yourself that you never visit that porn site anymore, but then remebered that you have a veery fast and free internet at you reach. You then tell yourself just one clip, from one you end up spending hours watching porn (how you go take stop). addiction continues since the na awoof internet.
5. A SIN: Exodus 20:15 says ;"You shall not steal". If you think its not a sin when you use cheats tell me how.
The truth is so bitter.....

mr OP, am sorry your feelings are hurt smiley

You're right that they shouldn't shout at you.Unfortunately, this is Africa where parents believe they have total control over children under them.
Try and talk respectfully with them each time and reassure them that they have nothing to worry about.
You have endured it all these while and you will soon be free of them.
Just be patient.

God bless you for that response.

wow 26 is a big age. I think you should talk to your parents respectfully how their excessive control makes you feel and make them see more clearly, why they shouldnt be scared. But have at the beck of ur mind that so long as you are still under them, they still have a bit of say over you.

Thanks for your reply.
I agree with you, just think they still see me the way they saw me when I was younger.

okay, your parents may just be apprehensive.I'll say you just endure it till you graduate and get your independence.
Do you go to school from home?
I go to school from home,am a part time student.
At the age of 26,I don't deserve to be shouted at all the time.
The best my parents should do for me is to advise and guide me.

Are you the only son or only child ? Cus I am experiencing some of the things you list here not all. I don't think they are over controlling I call it over protective it is a situation when your parents will like to know your movements, friends you keep and they do it in a way that looks like over controlling. I have to keep reassuring my mum that I have spent three years living alone in school without any trouble why now will I join any stupid cult group. The solution is to make money and rent your own house you will see how the controlling will end.
My thoughts exactly,at 26 one should have a little bit of freedom.

No smoke without fire!

Be cool. They mean well for you,but obviously not going about it ideally!

@ 26, you should be totally responsible for your life! Abi are u irresponsible

Perhaps (he believes) you've picked up (or picking up) an old (unhealthy) habit of his (ur father).
You should have a heart to heart talk with your dad!

Tanks for your reply.
Am a quiet guy,my dad has this pride about him as he feels he is never wrong.

If you had not given your parents any reason to be suspicious, they wouldn't think you might be involved in something bad.It might not be you but the friends you keep.

Since you say you are in your final year, why don't you endure whatever it is and be of the best behaviour till you graduate.Once you go for NYSC,you can enjoy your freedom.

Tanks for the reply,I hardly keep friends.am always in my room when am at home either reading or playing video games.
Family / Are My Parents Too Controlling? by judoskybj(m): 4:42pm On Oct 06, 2014
Hello everyone!
Am 26 years of age, final year student....am sort off fed up with my parents trying to control me.
Anytime I go out to see a friend, they think am keeping cultists as friends.have spent 14 years in benin and have never been involved in any fight, police have never come looking for me....have never had anything to do with violence.
I prefer going to school every sunday night or twice a week to read with my friends, despite my good performance in my academics, they still think I don't go to school for night reading.
Whenever I try to keep fit by working out with my dumb bells,my dad keeps telling me he is going to throw it away cos lifting weights are for fighters.
Am tired of all this,at the age of 26 I should be able to take some decisions on my own.
Need advice please?
Education / Re: 6 Reasons Not To Attend A Public University by judoskybj(m): 2:56pm On Sep 10, 2014
joseph1832: I tell you sir, you can't compare UNIBEN, UNILAG, ABU or UNIJOS to any of these private schools, each of this federal universities produce brains. A first class graduate of UI is not in the same league with a first class graduate from REDEEMERS university. "Shoe get size, okrika get quality".

Smh at your level of mentality.
What makes a private and a public graduate differernt?
Its not your school that determines what you are,its what you have inside of you!

Why do we always engage in silly arguements
At the end ,wether you attend public or private you still have to study hard.
Private uni won't give you automatic degree, one have to earn it.
I attended auchi poly before taking a part time program in biu,its not been easy.
Hardwork is the main thing cos at the end Bsc is Bsc wether is uniben or igbinedion.
Religion / Re: Christian Dating In A Godly Relationship by judoskybj(m): 3:40pm On Sep 08, 2014
Silly post..
1,Without some form of relationship, how do we know if she/he will be okay for marriage?
2,How do we work on our selves..mentally,emotionally and physically?
3,You think God will just throw someone at you as your spouse?
4,Born again christians can have a relationship provided their aims are in the same direction
