I was April 14th and hubby April 26.

What I learnt today for POE.

I will have to get my gcms, this should remind me how long I stated there, amount I stated I will be having for my trip.

And even at that..

Am not carrying any food items.. Might waybill it when I get there.... If need be

Not declaring more than 2 weeks.

Carry cash of min 2k.. Max 3k.. Others fit dey acc.

Travel lite.

Buy return ticket.

All this should save person at the POE. Toronto is even out of it tho..

Update on my passport
I called VFS customer care line
2348150199900yesterday, they gave me my tracking number and told that my passport was ready for collection, I went to VFS today and collected my passport, their was error in my email address that's why I didn't get VFS mail notifications. People that came to collect passport today was 200+

I thought as much.. If you collected yours.. Then mine too should be ready for collection.. We submitted same day. Last update I received is since 6th... 3 days now.

I applied for a Canada work permit in January and added my wife and kids to the application, so we all applied together.

Thankfully it was approved and we received ppr early May. We’ve since received our stamped passports from VFS.

The thing is that the PPR wasn’t sent for my baby. They said his final decision is still being processed. I initially thought it would come days after ours, but still no show. I have a job already, my wife has gotten one too and promised the employer she’d be landing in July.

What can we do to expedite this process and has anyone been in similar shoes? I’ve sent several webforms to no avail.

Book appointment in Lagos and submit in Lagos.. Only submit using DHL for Abuja if you are in hurry.

Depends how hasty you want it.. Abuja is faster.

But if you are in Lagos.. Why not just submit in Lagos and wait for the 2 weeks max.

Hello Gurus, I stand to be corrected with my questions and stance. I read on the Canadian Immigration website that visitors can continue to apply for work permits inside Canada with temporary policy extended by 2 years. It has been on their website since February this year

And that takes me to my question, how's now that a crime to look for work in Canada as a visitor if the law doesn't forbid it ?

Also, is a conference visa different from a visitor's visa? To me there are the same and. If they're the same, can someone that came on conference visa also look for a valid job in Canada and he or she won't be flagging any law ?

Normally conference means you are not staying more than a week sef.. But many people have used the means to remain in canada.

Also you can remain in canada on a conference note.. Since you are being issued same visit visa.

Only at the port of entry is the conference defined and noted. But just be careful how you handle that part.

You can work with the visit visa only when a company hire you and agree to give you the lmia with your offer letter.

With this doc from your employer, you can switch from visit visa to work visa.

You can as well get jobs without a work permit, but it will only delay you getting the ones that can give you work permit.

So it's better to hustle for jobs that are willing to offer you lmia, so you can get a work permit.

That passport can never be renewed, you can only do that only if you claim 'loss passport'.

Meanwhile you still got 2 yrs to expiry on that passport, why can you send that in and get your 2yrs visa, isn't that enough?

Attimes it's better to get that 5years or 10years.. And forget about applying again. Imo sha!

Start your application.. Provide all the documents you can get and wait your decision

Most importantly, more about your job and acc statement. Then with your letter of invite.

I was told to send my passport but unfortunately my passport will be expire 2025 and it was stated that the amount of years I will be given depends on the numbers of years left on my passport. Please my question is can I apply for a passport renewal and send the new passport to IRCC and also which IRCC office can I send my passport to?

Yes you can do a new passport.. It's called waiver.. They will wave the years and issue you a new one.. Hubby just did his yesterday ago and will be collecting his passport next week Wednesday.
