I applied for Visit visa to Canada in March 2000 from Lagos; then Covid came and my passport was returned after some months with the promise that the application is on queue for processing. I never believed anything will be done until I got a passport request two days ago. I am not in Nigeria now but in the UK on student visa. How do I get my passport to the Visa application centre in Lagos or to the Canadian embassy?
Please, I need your input/ suggestions.

Send to the vfs in UK.. Search the location ND submit it there. You can as well use DHL

Confused on what to do.

I raised a webform for hubby and his tracker was updated with the new passport and visa extended.

Raise a webform, send emails and also attach a copy of the written email in the envelop while submitting his passport.

I did all these and his passport details was updated on the portal with visa extended to 7years instead of 8months.

Chat them again.. We chatted them same day and till now, they have not sent your tracking? .. I got tracking that same day and Am getting notifications for hubby daily aswell.... Chat them again. That mail no be am.

Hello, we applied for a visitor visa, and when they approved it and asked for passport for stamping, the passport validity is remaining just under 6 months. Is it possible to renew the passport and send it in to VFS for stamping, so that the visa time is not reduced because the old passport is about to expire? We can even just attach the old passport to the back of the new one.

If you have where to get it done in 2 weeks max, go renew it and submit before the 30 days elapses

I just chatted vfs about the submission of my passport that I didn’t receive any email from them and d agent said I should wait for their notification without asking for my details. Pls do I need to continue sending mails to them

I just did same.. They asked for my hubby's last name, confirmed his dob and email. And said I will get notification before the end of today.

That was it.. Maybe they got all yours right, or you can try open another chat to be on safe side.

I got this message from IRCC just now… Your application indicates that you have a debt to the Crown. Please contact IRCC.FINDebtstotheCrown-DettesalaCouronneFIN.IRCC@cic.gc.ca for payment prior to submitting a new application…. It’s for conference and I paid for conference

Means your visa fee was not received.. Either bounced back or fake card was used.. But they didn't get your visa fee..

You paid for conference, that's different from visa fee.. See to it before your application get refused.

Also note that you’ll have to pay vfs to deliver your passport to your desired location if you can’t pickup yourself in Abuja.

And nothing since then

Till I got my passport with visa back.. I have not been able to use the tracker.

I submitted it myself in Lagos and picked up myself.

Hubby sent to Abuja via DHL.. And he's yet to even get tracking.. 3 working days passed now.
Will send them mail tomorrow Monday.

If you submitted in person, you do not need to pay to pick up, and yes, you can go and pick up in person.

My friends that went in last month got LMIA jobs in a farm
According to them
The trick is to go to villages not towns
Villages have pre- approved LMIA because everyone wants to be in the city.
They flagpole and got closed work permit
I no get power to explain
When I get my visa stamped, Na to move to Rural area.
Another thing, learn 5 weeks truck driving in naija, do an internship in any company for 2 months even if its unpaid, and also try and get truck license in Naija.
Enter canada , truck driving full everywere with LMIA jobs
Even on canada job bank, all truck driver vacancies are lmia approved because it's under the shortage skill occupation. With your liecense just enter Brampton, enough LMIA for truck driving with the Indians and also you can learn and get licensed in canada on visitor visa but it will cost you almost 10k cad, so learn in nigeria and use your liecense to apply for their liecense and do the test, if you pass, glory to God.

Things are only difficult for those without information and preparation before travelling.
Get a skill on the shortage list, you are good to go.

But it is not easy or a day job, just go prepared and have contingency plans to fall back to sha.

Same thing happened to me. They did not acknowledge receipt for 3 days until i sent them a mail using the contact us. The next evening, i received about 4 emails at the same time. i ven received the receipt for the courier payment

Same as mine, I stopped receiving email after I got this exact mail and I later went to Lagos vfs where I did my biometrics.. And I got my passport.. I did not get collection mail.. I just went there, about 4 days after I hit this you kinda email.

Also do we need to include visa pages or just the data pages of parent.

I didn't get collection mail for 7 days.. Went there, 3 people I met there got mails and there passport is not ready. But I did not get email update for days.. My passport was waiting.

While waiting for collection mail... Since your portal is showing visa details.. Go and collect your passport.

I will advice you go there with your submission slip for collection.

No need ask questions sef.. It's when you get to that tiny hall for collection and they tell you it's not available.. Then you ask them how.. 5months is way overdue.. They should explain what is happening since over 5 months.


Also is your portal showing your visa details?

OK, I kept on tracking and the last email I got was on 5th June while tracker stopped on 8th.

I went there with positive mind.. Since uju submitted same day with me and got her passport on Friday.

I went there.. The crowd choke.. Can't even relate the experience there.

But I said.. Since am here, I will wait to see the end.

Fast-forward.. We later got into the building and then into the small hall at 2:59pm.

After about 45min.. They called my name.. Whereas I learnt some even received collection email and there passport is not there.

I suffer today sha.. But it was all worth it.

I for cry if they had said.. Come back next week.

My slippers even cut join.. During the rush.

I got 3 emails on 7th of June, 1st it’s ready for collection at Abuja, 2nd it will be dispatched to where I applied and the 3rd that it has been dispatched (see attached). But the last email instead of it has been dispatched to Lagos, it still stated Abuja.

I’m yet to receive it from the courier service that I opted for so I’m not even sure of where it is.

Did anyone experience this please?
