NYSC Mobilisation: NANS Wins Battle, Qualified Graduands To Be Mobilised

AFTER several battles fought on the recent decision made by National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), to slash the number of graduands to be mobilised for the scheme by over 70 per cent, the leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by Comrade Aruna Kadiri, has successfully put a smile in the faces of Nigerian students due for the mobilisation process.

This agreement was reached when NANS President, with his team, paid a visit to the office of the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure, in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to Kadiri, who addressed a Press conference in Abuja, after the visitation, “We all came out smiling after the meeting we held with the Director-General of the NYSC. This is because the DG has categorically stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered that all qualified graduands should be mobilised and none should be left out.”

He added that, “for this reason, I assure Nigerian students that all tertiary institutions will also make sure that all their students would go for the service. Every qualified graduand would be captured and mobilised.”

In a related development, Kadiri urged the National Assembly, Federal Government and the Director-General of the NYSC to put a stop to the downward slash of NYSC budgetary allocation.

Kadiri admitted that, “what is happening now is as a result of slash in the budgetary allocation, which must not persist. As the year goes by, there will be more students, both local and international, that would be mobilised for the programme. So, if there is a slash in the budget of NYSC and they want to give us quota, definitely there would not be financial resources to mobilise all the students due for mobilisation.”

He added that the downward slash could result to a disaster not only to Nigerian students but also to Nigerian economy, beacause if graduands are accumulated, it will get to a point whereby many students will not go for the programme, even after five years of graduation.

UNIPORT /NYSC/FG CANNOT DO THIS TO US!
it's being since October 2015 we graduated. this month marks it one year.. anything beyond this year will be two years wait. The next batch will probably be June 2017 and if the reason they gave for DEMOBILIZING GRADUATES this 2016 is anything to go by it means our chances of even getting mobilize by 2017 is very slim. This is because our economy is not showing any sign of economic recovery. Recession is digging deeper by the day.

funny thing is majority members of the public and parents are not yet even aware what is happening to their Wards. Uniport and our various institutions have failed us by not canvassing for our interests..NANS have failed us, even ASUU have failed us too.

Inspite of all this,my colleagues I want to plead with you all that we cannot give up the fight, we cannot let this slip by. The minimum age limit now required by companies and variious corporations is 21-24years.You and I know you cannot spend 4-6years in the university, another 3years waiting for NYSC and still be in that age bracket Hence we have to lend our collective voices together and fight for what is just. Irrespective of our schools and state of residences we have to come out in our mass in Peaceful March to the NYSC Secretariat of your state.

ALUTA cannot die. !!am travelling back to my school on Thursday.. I don't care if I'm the only person marching.
Where is your school?
Nairaland GeneralWoman In Port Harcourt Discovers She’s Been Married To A Dead Man For 6 Years! by juliuscarter(op): 10:22pm On Oct 08, 2016
A woman reportedly “ran mad” on Friday, after discovering the father of her twokids and husband for 6 years had died since 2002. It was pandemonium and endless drama in old port Harcourt town waterside as a woman identified as Grace Amadi by her neighbors ran mad on Friday afternoon after making a shocking discovery that her husband of 6 years and father to her 2 children had died since 2002, LeadersNg reports. A source told LeadersNg that Mrs Grace and her husband whose name was given as Tony had been married since 2010 and have been living peacefully with their 2 daughters who were both conceived in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Mr Tony had left for his job normally this morning and today was supposed to be a normal day in their lives until she received a visitor in the late hours of the morning who claimed he was a distant relative of Tony. The visitor’s exact conversation with Grace could not be extracted from either of them as the visitor left shortly before Mrs Grace began to scream in disbelief and rage, several times throwing herself on the floor to induce injuries. A source at the scene says neighbors gathered round and saw old pictures of Tony lying on the floor, apparently left behind by the visitor for Mrs Grace. The source was also shocked at the pictures left behind, one was wedding ceremony pictures of Tony and another woman dated May 2000, another was a car accident wreckage which had allegedly killed Tony, another was Tony’s remains lying in an open casket apparently depicting his funeral dated July 2002, the last one was a picture of a grave headstone carrying the full name and the dates of birth and death. The mystery remains, how is someone who had died in 2002 alive and well and even remarried with children? Attempts were made to reach Mr Tony by phone but they all proved abortive as his number was not reachable. A delegation of neighbors were sent to his office to retrieve Mr Tony but the delegation returned empty handed and revealed that Mr Tony never arrived at the office that morning as he drove out for work from his house. Mrs Grace had since be taken to a local prayer house for spiritual treatment against the advice of a psychiatric home while her children are being looked after by her neighbors as they look on confused. Maybe one day they will be old enough to be told that their father had died before they were born.

We all have our choice and opinion.. U prefer M.I but I prefer Olamide. Baddo is a versatile artist sometimes h may decide to sing a commecial song, M.I does that too. Go and listen to motivation, Fucki*g with the devil, going to heaven. you will hear some messages

I said that because for a long time now Ice Prince has been churning out songs that I cant really figure out words that can be used to qualify them.....talking about Phyno, he s just a king on his own Lane but can never be in the same lane with guys like Cassper, AKA M.I etc....Even Zoro the Ogene crooner will murder phyno in both Igbo and English rap....jukwaa ese
Guy u are just a hater...Phyno is far better than all these guys u mentioned. We are talking about good music and consistent artist here. Cassper, AKA M.I which of there latest song dey burst ur brain now. talk true

For the fact that no international artist regnizes him means that he s too local despite his videos being played on mtv everyday, no outside shows except the ones the Yorubas in UK arrange for him...unlike Davido and wizkid who have gone to many African countries to perform...this means that he s not that good as you put him Op....I used to like his songs but nowadays I hardly listen to his songs cuz I'm tired of his noise.....and I'm sure many are tired of him too.....you even have the effrontery to call him "a rapper"....if Olamide is a rapper then he s a disgrace to Nigerian rap music industry, Cassper Nyovest is a definition of a rapper, talk about AKA, K.O, SARK, YCEE, M.I and his brother.....Lemme not add ice Prince cuz he s becoming a joke

Please I'm not hating on Olamide o, but trying to hype him like you just did is totally uncalled for....we are into music and we know good music when we hear one
U used to like his song but u don't like it anymore. Does that means he is not as good as before?
Secondly, Olamide sings and RAP, everyone knows this and if truly u are into music then u should know that Olamide always rap when he want to though he mostly sings lately but that does not mean he is not a rapper. YC and co u mentioned are giving him his respect as a rapper. Incase u want to reconfirm baddo's rap listen to Zero joy, Voice of d street, eyan mayweather

badoo will soon fade out believe me, the problem I have with him is his beats, they sound like something mixed with an android phone, davido and wizkid spend cash to get a quality producer just like rickross beats more matured on the ears......badoo should step up his game, I could pick over 15 of his songs that can't match "ojuelegba" and "skelewu"
What is dis one sayinghuhIs Olamide now a producer?
Shizzi,Young John, Pheels and mastercraft produced most of Olamide' song same as Davido too. This are great producers in Nigeria
