Politics / ‘Mama Boko Haram’ Reveals Her Ordeal With Meeting Boko Haram Insurgents by JumiR: 1:25am On Jan 14, 2018
Hajiya Aisha Wakil popularly known as Mama Boko Haram hails from Enugu State. Now a Muslim and married to a Northerner with three children, she is known to be close to some commanders and members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect. In a recent interview with PUNCH, she recounted her ordeal with the Department of State Services(DSS) and meeting with Boko Haram insurgents. According to her, “They(DSS) said I knew where Shekau was and that they wanted to get the Chibok girls out and resolve the whole issue and that I was not releasing the information at my disposal.

“I was not arrested; I went on my own to meet them. They heard me, I told them that I was not hiding and that I wasn’t hoarding information in my quest for peace. I also told them that even when I went to the bush to meet with those guys and someone asked me about the trip, I always revealed the details of our interaction. But if you ask me where they were, I will not tell you that; I will tell you I do not know. Actually, I do not know because they usually take me there in a blindfold inside a car with strict instructions that I should bow down my head throughout the trip.

“They would deliberately drive round for hours until they are sure that I have become drowsy and possibly slept off. How do you expect me to know where they had taken me? It is also the same process when they are bringing me back. As a matter of fact, what is the purpose of telling the DSS where they are? Can’t they go and look for them? Sometimes, when I go to them in the bush, I spend about three days, and at times, a week. It is a pathetic situation. You see them sometimes shedding tears, anxious to be reunited with the society.

“They usually confess that they are tired of the life they are living. Anybody who knows my history will know that the boys, when things were still good, were staying in my house. In those days, if you came to my house, the gate was always opened to everybody. I never discriminated against anyone. We were living together, and even whenever I was going somewhere around in Shehuri North then, they would carry my handbag and call me mummy and asked what I had for them.

“They would tell me what they wanted to eat and I would give them money to go to the market. We would prepare the food and eat. They were like kids to me. Some of them, I did their circumcision when they were boys of just seven years old. So they grew up seeing me as a mother.”

On whether she sees an end to the Boko Haram war, she said,” I believe in God and I pray a lot. I believe in prayers. If we pray, these kids are not more powerful than God. I do encourage people to also pray about it. There is one adage in Igbo that says if you drag a stick and the stick drags you, you leave the stick and run for your life. They (Federal Government) keep telling me that they have dragged the stick (Boko Haram insurgents) and that the stick has dragged them and it is now for them to leave the stick.

“But I keep telling them that this is not a stick but human beings and we have to continue to drag them. These are Nigerians, our children, our brothers and sons. We cannot just leave them like that, because leaving them like that would create more problems. I believe it (the insurgency) will end; they (the insurgents) wanted it to end. Anytime I talk to them, they always ask me when the war would end and would also seek to know how it would end.”

Politics / ‘How I Met&Fell In Love With My Husband’–Niger State 1st Lady, Amina Sani Bello by JumiR: 10:23am On Jan 13, 2018
The First Lady of Niger State, Amina Sani Bello, is the daughter of former military president, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar{rtd.} and retired chief judge of Niger state, Justice Fati Abubakar. A medical doctor, Amina Sani Bello was born in Benin in 1973. She attended Federal Government Girls College{FGGC} Bakori for her secondary education and the Ahmadu Bello University{ABU} for her medical degree. She has a master’s in Public Health from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.

In a recent interview on how she met her husband Gov. Abubakar Sani Bello, the First Lady said, “I met my husband through mutual friends in my second year at the university. At that time, marriage was far away from my mind because I was concentrating hard in medical school. But not long after we met, he made his intentions clear and was persistent enough to get me thinking . I accepted him because I found him to be responsible, kind and funny, but most of all, I liked his liberal way of thinking and dealing with people. His generosity, thoughtfulness, religion and honesty have always been his best qualities. With these qualities, he is the best person anyone can ever wish for.”

On qualities she took from her parents, the First Lady said, “I have a bit of both parents, but I think I’m becoming more like my mother every day. My father played an important role in our lives. They both made sure we were on the right path; hence we turned out to be who we are today.”Amina Sani Bello and her sisters co-run Noor Education Foundation, a non-government organization which provides less-privileged children with funds for their education.

Politics / 'Bread Distributed By APC In Akure Is Poisonous' - Eyitayo Jegede Alleges by JumiR: 1:42am On Nov 16, 2016
The factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has told Akure residents to reject the loaves of bread allegedly being distributed by some agents of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN). Jegede, who spoke in Akure through the Director of the Eyitayo Jegede Campaign Organisation, Mr. Kayode Fasua, said the “poisoned bread” had allegedly landed many of its consumers in hospitals.

According to him, “Though there is nothing bad in distributing bread more so that under the APC national administration, life has become unbearable for the common people, our major concern now is that the loaves of bread being distributed are killer loaves; they are contaminated. Microbiologists have moved in and found that the loaves of bread are poisonous.

"It was found that they contain potassium bromide, which the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control had long alerted Nigerians to avoid. Apart from the fact that this APC bread can cause cancer, it has also resulted in many cases of serious stomach rumbling, which may have by now resulted in some deaths.” Meanwhile the Director of Media and Publicity of Akeredolu Campaign Organisation, Mr. Steve Otaloro, has denied the allegation saying the APC candidate Rotimi Akeredolu is not aware of any bread distribution.

Politics / Gov. El-rufai Bombs Atiku Abubakar: 'You're Haunted By Your Corruption Demons' by JumiR: 4:25pm On Nov 15, 2016
This statement is issued in response to the latest falsehoods to emerge from Alhaji Atiku Abubukar. He has a record of spewing outright lies and innuendo against my person. As we struggle to build a law-abiding society and secure progressive outcomes for our people, we cannot allow the triumph on these shores of those who will have us move to a post-factual world. Not even from a man as practiced as Alhaji Atiku is in the dark arts of damaging other people through a campaign of lies from him and his media machine. Therefore, I am constrained to provide a response to the fake news and irresponsible revision of recent history by Alhaji Atiku.

I never had anything to do with the incorporation of Transcorp. Those that established that company and fronted it like Festus Odimegwu, Tony Elumelu, Otunba Lawal Solarin and Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke are still around and alive. As such I could not have and did not offer Alhaji Atiku any shares in Transcorp. I declined the shares that were offered to me. Having done that, how could I have offered anyone shares?
In fact, I advised President Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Atiku and then finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala not to accept the shares that were then being offered by the promoters of Transcorp. My counsel to them was based on the grounds that they would face conflicts of interest when Transcorp bids for privatization assets. At the time Alhaji Atiku and Ngozi were chair and vice-chair of the National council on Privatization, and were particularly directly involved in approving the sales of state-owned enterprises and assets. It is too late in the day to try to pretend that the fiasco concerning the attempt by then Senators Ibrahim Mantu and Jonathan Zwingina to extort money from me for Senate clearance never happened. All Alhaji Atiku has just done is confirm that he paid the Senators, as I revealed in Page 139 of my book.

When I published The Accidental Public Servant in 2013, Alhaji Atiku unleashed his media team in a campaign of vilification. Despite the viciousness of the attacks, they did not contest or explain away his shenanigans that were detailed in the book, from the Ericsson manoeuvre, to the Abuja water treatment plant contract and his obsession with marabouts and their assurances of the political big prize. He might also consider a full reckoning for what he and his acolytes did with public funds in the PTDF imbroglio, rather than indulging the usual bold face of the Nigerian big-man.As a federal public servant, my oath of allegiance appropriately stood with the Federal Republic of Nigeria, not the big men whose conduct I was privileged to witness at close quarters. People like Alhaji Atiku think that loyalty to them should be the goal of a public officer, and that it should trump the oath of allegiance to the country.

Alhaji Atiku is already running for 2019, and he thinks that he can make people like us collateral damage in his attempt to rejuvenate his image. This obsession for power inclined him to support the rebellion against the party that manifested in the National Assembly, and is continuing with obvious disrespect for the incumbent president. Everyone knows that I support and will continue to work for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari as he leads our country through tough times.Like everyone else, Alhaji Atiku is entitled to rehabilitation. But that often requires coming clean with the people. Can Alhaji Atiku explain the findings in the report of the United States Senate Permanent Sub-Committee on Investigations which detailed a pattern of wire transfers of more than USD 40m from offshore companies like Siemens into bank accounts controlled by him and one of his wives. The report detailing the US Senate findings is online, as one of four case histories of foreign corruption in the USA. Alhaji Atiku should tell a better tale of why he is avoiding the United States of America.Someone as obsessed with Nigeria’s presidency as he is, should clear up such matters conclusively. We wait to see how well he does with that.

Signed
Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai

Politics / 'Men Should Be In The Kitchen & Women In Other Room' - Babangida Aliyu by JumiR: 2:08am On Nov 15, 2016
Former governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has said though it is widely held that the place of the woman is in the kitchen, “men also belong there.”

Recall President Muhammadu Buhari had in Germany, while speaking to reporters said that women belonged to the kitchen and the inner room in reply to his wife’s protest that some unknown politicians had hijacked her husband's administration. Babangida Aliyu spoke in Minna, Niger State capital, at the annual lecture series organised by Newgate College of Technology.

According to Babangida Aliyu,“Looking at the issue critically, and in Islamic terms, it is actually the man that should be in the kitchen as provided for in the Holy Quran.

The woman should only be in the ‘inner room,’ while the men should provide all the needs of the woman, including making purchases from the market for the use of the family. Islam does not permit women to go out indiscriminately, as they are supposed to be in the house taking care of the children.”

Politics / 'I Don't Notice Abuja Girls&Don't Have Their Time'-Oyo/South Senator,Soji Akanbi by JumiR: 3:01am On Nov 14, 2016
Senator Soji Akanbi is the lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District of Oyo State in the Senate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC). The 54-year-old senator, who is married to Mrs. Folake Akanbi, played big in the oil and gas sector before venturing into politics and founded an initiative Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation(RAAF) to support the underprivileged. In a recent interview with PUNCH where Akanbi spoke on his activities outside the red chamber, he revealed that he is not a womaniser. When asked how he copes with female admirers who are all over the National Assembly, Senator Soji Akanbi said, "I don’t even notice them. I don’t have time for them. I am too pre-occupied with the national assignment which I have been elected to do. So, I don’t see those girls, I don’t notice them at all."

Responding to the question that many male lawmakers in Abuja, because of their money and influence, are socialites who love women, the Oyo South senator added that, "It is a no for me. My personal experience is that after getting home, I say my prayers and I don’t go out anymore. I have one of my aides who stays with me. After eating, we will move into the library to spend one or two hours everyday to prepare for the next day. Whoever is doing that (socialising), I wonder where they have the time to do such. Most of the time, I get home between 7pm and 8pm. After eating, we move into the library till around 10pm or 11pm; we look through our notes to prepare for the next day."

Celebrities / Chidinma Okeke Speaks: 'Beauty Pageant Organizers Insisted I Do The Sex Video' by JumiR: 12:55am On Nov 12, 2016
Since the story of the sex video involving former Miss Anambra, Chidinma Okeke, broke a few weeks ago, several groups and individuals have come forward with different versions of what transpired between the embattled 20-year-old beauty queen and the organisers of the pageant.

The former beauty queen was seen in a shocking x-rated video with a lesbian partner. Surprisingly, the video was released on October 11, 2016, a few days before the expiration of her tenure originally billed for October 28, 2016.

Every day across the state since the video hit the streets, different versions of what led to the scandal are churned out by the actors, leaving the people confused and unsure of what to believe.

Since the scandal broke, Miss Chidinma Okeke, who won the Miss Anambra beauty pageant, organised by the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), has remained incommunicado, choosing to go into hiding over alleged threats to her life. She has also remained silent, leaving her lawyer to do most of the talking.

While the father, Sir Jeremiah Okeke, had claimed in recent reports that his daughter had been handed over to a relation for safety, some others claimed that the ex-beauty queen had relocated abroad.

But after weeks of keeping quiet, Miss Okeke has finally broken her silence. In an exclusive interview with The Nation, she debunked claims that she threatened to commit suicide, adding that there was never a time such thought came to her mind.

She also said her life might no longer be in danger, adding that her traducers were no longer threatening her life, and maintaining that those who were after her life had stopped contacting her.

She also said the faces behind her agonizing period in Anambra would be revealed soon, adding that with God, all things are possible.

Narrating her own side of the story, she said:

“Early last year, the ABS advertised for the Miss Anambra beauty pageant. I heard of it and went to make enquiry.

“My roommate was also interested, but one of the organisers told me to apply. I told them I was not interested but the man insisted that I might win the competition. He also promised to give me the form for free if I indicated interest, and he did when I agreed to contest.

“But one Jane told me that before a winner would be declared, there were certain things to be done, including the (sex) video. I consented after some persuasion from the organisers. I later went for the contest at the Marble Arch Hotels in Awka, and I was declared winner with a Kia Rio vehicle as star prize.

“When I went for my car after the contest, the organisers brought out a contract form for me to sign, but I told them I wanted to contact my lawyer to see it. I was not given the opportunity to do so.

“What they kept telling me was that if I insisted on not signing the contract or wanted to contact my lawyer, they would release the video.

“At that point, I became uncomfortable and signed the contract to avoid such embarrassment, and the car was released to me from where it was packed within the premises of ABS.

“From that moment, I became a slave to them. On October 11, 2016, they called me to come and make presentations inside the office of one the organisers. After that, the man excused some people in that room and showed me the video again.

“They told me to drop my car and removed my crown from me. I told them I would take the car as stipulated in the contract. They insisted I should pack it in the premises of (ABS).

“I told my uncle in Abuja about the situation. My uncle called them and asked them to release my car to me. Instead, they forwarded the video to him as part of the blackmail. That was what happened,” Chidinma said, crying.

She also said the scandal had weighed her down. Amidst sobs, she denied being a lesbian, saying she had never been involved in the act.

For her parents, Sir Jeremiah and his wife, Lady Nora Okeke, the incident remains a shock.

According to Sir Okeke, the management and organisers of the pageant capitalised on his daughter’s “age and naivety to deny her whatever monetary gains she made while serving as Miss Anambra.”

He added: “How can a beauty queen borrow money to pay her driver, even when she is supposed to be receiving a monthly salary?

“I cannot say all that I heard or saw. Why was she not paid her winning prize of one million naira fully? Rather, they paid her on installmental basis. And up until today, the money has not been completely paid.

“They have rubbished her and rubbed the family’s name in the mud. But we have united as a family, praying seriously for my daughter and for the people behind this wicked act to be exposed.

“My family at first agreed not to tell me about the whole thing, because I am hypertensive. But they decided otherwise when things got out of hand. I told them this issue will not kill me because I have had worse experiences while in business years back.

“My God, as always, will answer me and expose the truth in no distant time. I won’t say much because the damage has already been done.

“Chidinma is a small girl who does not know anything, hence, she fell into a trap that was too heavy for her to shoulder. But I thank God she is recovering.”

All through the interview, Chidinma’s mother, who was advised by the husband to remain silent, continued to hiss, and motioning her hands towards the heavens in supplication to God.

Two of the chiefs in Ogboji community in Orumba South Local Government Area, where Chidinma hails from, Chief Obi Okoli (Idejimba) and Chief Julius Nwankwo (Nwabulu-Omee), told The Nation that the incident had left them in shock.

Okoli, who described Chidinma as a nice and well-trained girl from a Christian home, saw the entire thing as a set up, but argued that such issues would only happen if somebody presents oneself.

According to him, “she is a well brought up girl from a good family background and Christian home. There could be more to this than meets the eyes.”

Asked if the community was not going to say anything on the sex scandal involving their daughter, Okoli laughed and said: “There are ways of handling such issues, and I don’t think the community will be involved.”

Also speaking, Chief Julius Nwankwo, described the situation as a pity, adding that today’s children behave as they like.

However, he said that the people of Ogboji community were seeing it as blackmail, adding that none of them was happy with what happened to their daughter.

He said: “As an Ogboji man, I am pained that such a thing happened to one of our own, and that is why we want the authorities concerned to look into the saga appropriately, with a view to arresting those involved.

“When our daughter won the award, we were happy. For anybody or group of persons to rubbish her and our community is what we will not condone.”

Nwankwo said they heard some people had been apprehended over the sex scandal, adding that the authorities should look well in making sure that wrong people were not punished.

The Managing Director of ABS, the organisers, Uche Nworah did not comment on the queen’s allegations when we contacted him. He instead referred us to the organisation’s earlier statement.

In the earlier statement, the organisers had dissociated themselves from the scandal. Part of the statement read: “The attention of the management of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, organisers of the Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant, has been drawn to a video with lurid contents purportedly showing former Miss Anambra, Miss Chidinma Okeke (Miss Anambra 2015).

“The said Miss Chidinma Okeke, who is allegedly linked to the lurid content in circulation, has served out her term as Miss Anambra 2015 and handed over the crown in line with the terms and conditions of The Miss Anambra pageant.

“We condemn in clear terms any amoral behaviour/conduct as suggested by the alleged lurid content in circulation and do not condone such.

“It is on record that The Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant has been a platform to empower Anambra women and celebrate our rich culture and heritage. Winners of the pageant are bound to contracts to be of good conduct and moral behaviour and to uphold/maintain the honour in their position as queen.

“Winners of the pageant also contract to refrain from any personal relationship that could appear to hinder their ability to perform the duties of their office as queen and role model, and we do not expect any less.

“We, therefore, wish to dissociate The Miss Anambra pageant from any discussions on the said allegations.

“We feel sufficiently perturbed by the mere reference already made to the pageant and hereby state that we are in no way connected to the controversy.

“We apologise to the government and good people of Anambra State, our sponsors, supporters, friends and all those associated with the Miss Anambra project for the embarrassment the mere reference to the pageant in the controversy may have caused whilst reassuring of the good intentions of the Miss Anambra pageant franchise.”

Ms. Yakolo Indimi is the estranged wife of the son of former President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Mohammed Badamasi Babangida. She is the daughter of Borno billionaire Alhaji Mohammed Indimi. Following the marital crisis rocking her marriage to the Babangida scion, she has petitioned President Mohammadu Buhari over an attempted forceful abduction of two of her children from their school in Abuja. Yakolo Indimi and Mohammed Babangida divorced in 2015.

The petition dated 9th November 2016 and signed by the former Attorney General , Nasarawa State, Mr. Innocent Lagi was sent to the President , the National Assembly, Inspector General of Police ( IGP), Director DSS, the Sultan of Sokoto, Supreme Council of Sharia in Nigeria, National Human Rights Commission and the President, Nigerian Bar Association. According to the petitioner, "On the 9th of November 2016 at about 3 pm our client believes that Mohammed Badamasi Babangida attempted as he had done previously to forcefully abduct our client’s children using the offers of the Nigerian Police force from their school at Katampe Abuja.

"The policemen involved are Sunday Ubua who provided his phone no. as 08033129778 and Musa Maji with Police identification No. 158593. When our correspondent visited the School yesterday, an eye witness who does not want his name in print confirmed the incident".The petitioner further said after 'His divorce to our client in December of 2015, he lured her to visit his father in Minna with the kids. After the visit he unlawfully detained our client in his house and would not let her go. And when he eventually let her go he would not let her go with her infant children; Maryam Mohammed Babangida ten (10) years old, Fatima Mohammed Babangida nine (9) years old, Ibrahim Mohammed Babangida seven (7) years old and Mohammed Mohammed Babangida five (5) years old.

"Our client had reached out severally through relatives and emails to Mr Babangida to reconsider his actions and let her have the children back to no avail. Mr Babangida eventually returned the four kids to our client in June 2016. After this incident our client filed a suit which is still pending at an Abuja Area Court for the custody of the four children as provided under Islamic law. Mr Babangida also filed a suit at an Upper Sharia Court in Minna seeking the custody of the kids. Politics / Dino Melaye: 'Nigeria's Recession Will Not End Even If I Sell My Cars" by JumiR: 1:19am On Nov 06, 2016
The Chairman, Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Dino Melaye, is known to be a collector of vintage cars which are expensive. 42-year-old Melaye, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District in the Senate, has in his garage a fleet of customized vintage and luxury cars worth hundreds of millions. In September 2016, he arrived at a Senate function at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, in a Mercedes Benz 190 (1958 Model) with customized number plate “KOGI DINO 10”. A few weeks ago, he made news again when he was spotted in a Rolls Royce worth N180million. Recently, Senator Dino Melaye spoke to PUNCH on various issues and one of the questions was on his acquisition of expensive vintage cars as the recession bites hard in Nigeria.

Responding to how he acquired his stupendous wealth, Melaye said, "I don’t know about stupendous wealth. I don’t know about being wealthy, but I will say I am a comfortable Nigerian and I have never got any contract from the government contract in my life. I have also never taken any political appointment in my life or a position where I have control over government funds. I have never had government imprest and I challenge anyone who has any criminal allegation against me to actually come out and present it.

"With the vigour with which I fought the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, if I had any skeleton in my cupboard, by now it would have been exposed. For a man who buys very expensive cars with his name labelled on the number plate, it is enough to tell you that he is clean. I am a very transparent Nigerian, a very open and honest Nigerian. I have never stolen from government and I can say it without fear. I challenge anyone to prove me otherwise. But at the same time, God is the ultimate giver of legitimate wealth and anyone who really wants to tap into the anointing of getting resources from God should please consult me."

On his love of cars, Melaye added that, "I love automobiles and everybody can be passionate about a particular thing. Some can be passionate about homosexuality. They can spend any amount of money to sleep with a man. Some are passionate about occultism. They can buy blood at any amount of money. Some are passionate about diamonds; you can ask Diezani (Alison-Madueke). My passion is automobiles and there is no crime in that and I am very proud of it. Once the automobiles are not products of crime and they are not got from any ill-gotten wealth, then a man should be proud about what he is passionate about. I love automobiles and I am waiting for the next collection."

The journalist further asked why Melaye is acquiring more cars "when many Nigerians, even those from your constituency and senatorial district cannot feed and there is poverty everywhere", the Kogi senator said, "My cars cannot underwrite the recession problems of this country. Even if you sell my cars now, it will not make Nigeria to come out of recession." On his marital status, he disclosed that, "I am single. I have three children. But I am not married. I won’t remain single forever. Very soon I will invite you (to my wedding) and I assure you (that the person I will marry) will be a Made-in-Nigeria woman. I have always been married to one woman and all my children are from one woman. I have only been married once. Whatever marriage I am going into now will be my second marriage. If you are anxious to know, I will invite you.I don’t have a wife."

Politics / ‘Nobody Asked President Buhari For Oil Blocs Or Contracts’ – Obong Victor Attah by JumiR: 12:58am On Nov 06, 2016
Former two-time governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Bassey Attah, has dismissed reports that leaders of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) during the meeting with President Buhari reportedly asked for oil blocs. Speaking to VANGUARD in an interview, Attah who is a co-chairman of the Central Working Committee of PANDEF, said: “I must regrettably say that there is a lot of irresponsible journalism out there. And having said that, I want to immediately follow with an appeal that if the problem in the Niger Delta persists, it is going to affect all of us including the journalists that are in this country. So, if they see a genuine effort to try and calm the situation down, they should support it rather than trying to find a way of discrediting it at once. Nobody went there to ask for any oil bloc. Nobody went there to ask for any contract. At the moment, there are in fact contracts awarded for surveillance to individuals and it has not helped the situation.

“What we suggested in our paper was that they should rejig these and find a way of awarding these contracts to the communities as it were, because it is a lot easier if it is the community that picks the responsibility for the pipelines that are passing through their areas rather than an individual. So, let the community feel a sense of participation. Right from the beginning, we tried to indicate that a sense of alienation is really the major cause of the problem in the Niger Delta. It does not matter how good the food is, if somebody ties your hands behind your back and says open your mouth and spoonfeeds you with the best meal in the world, you are not going to enjoy it. So, it does not matter how much you said you are giving back to the peope, if the people do not feel a sense of participation, of involvement, the alienation continues, then that is where we are having real issues.

“So, we asked for a review of this and people want to interpret it to mean that the Niger Deltans went there to ask for contracts. On the oil blocs, I can quote the Minister for Solid Minerals copiously where he said, “so because I sit in Abuja and give you a licence, you think you can go there and drive people off their land and start exploiting solid minerals? You are wrong. You have to involve the people of the place and you have to carry them along.” It has not happened in the case of oil, and that is what we are complaining about and this is why the people feel that they are just being forced and their products taken away and nobody is involving them. Go and read the ownership composition of Itakpe Iron Ore Company. The community is written into it so that everybody feels a sense of ownership so that nobody wilfully destroys what belongs to them. The Niger Delta today does not have a sense of anything belonging to them other than the position they are left with. So, we want to see how we can correct all of these.

“As a governor under Obasanjo, we formed a company called BEDROCK Oil – Bayelsa, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom – and applied for an oil bloc. These are all oil-producing states asking for one oil bloc and we were denied. Does that give the people a feeling that they have any form of participation in this oil? And it has continued like that. So, we are saying, please, review this matter and see how the people can come into the ownership position of this oil which is naturally found in their land so that they would be the ones determined to protect it; determined to make sure that nobody steals it. People want to change that, and then they now said we went to ask for oil blocs. I think that is divisive.”

Politics / EFCC Grills Muiz Banire, As Iyiola Omisore Returns N350million by JumiR: 1:04am On Nov 05, 2016
The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Mr. Muiz Banire, SAN was yesterday quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) for about seven hours at its Lagos Zonal Office over an alleged payment of N500,000 into the account of a judge{Justice Terseer Agbadu-Fishim of the National Industrial Court}. Banire was later released on administrative bail after the agency seized his international passport. Going by reports, Banire was summoned to the Lagos office of the EFCC on Thursday and he obliged by turning up for questioning after which he was asked to return on Friday(yesterday).

Meanwhile, Banire in a text message to PUNCH before he was invited by the EFCC, maintained that the money was not a bribe but he was merely helping the judge who was broke at the time. Banire in the text said, “Thank you for clarification sought. I have no official relationship with the said judge. I have never appeared before him in any matter and in fact, in my entire professional career, I have only recently a month ago appeared at the industrial court before a separate judge. He was an old friend in the 90s, who only called me up some years back to seek financial assistance due to his mother’s death. Beyond that, I have not seen him in the last 17 years.”

In another development, former Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Musiliu Obanikoro was yesterday granted bail by the anti-graft agency after refunding the sum of N100 million out of the sum of N4.7 billion he allegedly embezzled. Obanikoro is being accused of paying over N3.88 billion out of the N4.7 billion traced to companies linked to him to Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose and former Osun Sate Deputy governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore. VANGUARD reports that Omisore refunded N50 million to EFCC yesterday following the initial return of N300 million before making this latest payment.

Politics / 'CBN Governor, Minister Of Finance Should Resign If...'-House Of Representatives by JumiR: 3:29pm On Nov 04, 2016
The House of Representatives ad-hoc committee set up to investigate the N700 billion bail-out funds given to some state governments by the federal government yesterday called on Nigerians to demand for the resignation of the minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, for mismanaging the country’s economy. The chairman of the ad-hoc committee,Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim (APC, Adamawa) made the call yesterday following failure of the duo to personally appear at the committee’s session. The committee also called for the resignation of the Director General of the Debt Management Office (DMO), Abraham Nwankwo.

Adeosun did not send any representative, but Emefiele delegated an executive director in the apex bank, Umar Abubakar, to represent him, while the DG of DMO was represented by Oladele Afolabi. But the lawmakers rejected the representatives. Hon Ibrahim said, “The attitudes of these top government officials show who is mismanaging the economy of the country. Nigerians should rise up and call for their resignation immediately. If it is to bring virement, they would rush down, but now that they are to come and explain to Nigerians how the bail-out fund running into over N700bn was disbursed, they are sending representatives; they are only interested in borrowing. This has to stop.” The committee has directed the three officials to physically appear before it and provide all relevant documents on the bailout funds.

Politics / EFCC Witness Fingers Goodluck Jonathan In N400million Disbursement by JumiR: 6:35pm On Nov 03, 2016
Mr Richard Ihediwa, a witness in the ongoing trial of former National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisah Metuh, said on Thursday that the N400 million Metuh got was disbursed as directed. Ihediwa, led in evidence by Mr Emeka Etiaba (SAN), counsel to Metuh, told the Abuja High Court that former President Goodluck Jonathan gave the directive on how the amount was to be spent. He said that N21 million was paid to Chief Tony Anenih, former PDP Chairman, for a property acquired for use by the party as its media intervention centre.

He added that although the property, located in Asokoro area of Abuja, did not belong to Anenih, he assisted the PDP media team headed by the accused, in securing it. “The amount covered the cost of hiring the structure, utility vehicles as well as security gadgets at the centre,’’ he said. The witness also told the court that various sums were paid to some groups coordinated by some government functionaries, including late Oronto Douglas and Mallam Abbah Dabo.

He said he was not very certain about the amount released to late Douglas, but added that N25 million was released to Dabo as mobilization for advocacy groups, in line with the directive. Ihediwa said the former president also approved different amounts for some other groups and Metuh disbursed the funds to them accordingly. He said because of the tension and high level of insecurity across the six geo-political regions of the country then, there was the need for government to mobilise various advocacy groups to stabilise the system. Meanwhile, Justice Okon Abang has reserved ruling for Nov. 15 on applications filed by the defence counsel.

Politics / Abdullahi Dikko Returns N1billion To FG by JumiR: 12:41am On Nov 03, 2016
Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko, a former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS), is said to have returned N1,040,000, 000 to the Federal Government. Dikko served as the head of customs between August 2009 and August 2015. He has been on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) radar since the anti-graft agency established that about N40billion was diverted from the coffers of the NCS under his watch. The funds were allegedly drawn from proceeds of the seven per cent cost of collection and one per cent comprehensive import supervision scheme. He was then arrested by the EFCC in June 2016 and later released due to his poor health. The EFCC later seized a mansion{valued at N2billion} belonging to him located at 1 Audu Ogbeh Street, Jabi, Abuja. He is also believed to own properties in Dubai and in Katsina, his home state.

A source within the EFCC has however told PUNCH that Dikko has been returning money to the federal government.According to the source, “So far, Dikko has returned over N1bn. He returned N1bn and then N4m. He is still expected to return more money. The EFCC Act Section 71 (b) gives us the power to commence investigations into the property of any person if it appears to the EFCC that the person’s lifestyle and extent of properties are not justified by law. Section 28 says concerning those arrested under the Act, the commission will immediately trace and attach all the assets and seizures of such a person which have been acquired. Section 29 permits the assets of a person arrested under Section 28 to be seized by the state. Dikko was a customs officer and served for about 30 years. He has to explain where he got the money to buy a mansion of N2bn.”

Politics / Obasanjo Kicks Against $29.9billion FG Loan,Says "Third Force May Emerge In 2019 by JumiR: 3:08pm On Nov 02, 2016
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has kicked against the Federal Government's plan to obtain a $29.96 billion foreign loan. Recall as president, Obasanjo successfully negotiated with Western nations to write off $12.5 billion foreign debt to the Paris Club, a body of European creditors during his tenure. Obasanjo was said to have contacted Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun shortly after the media reported the loan bid, which the Federal Government explained would be used to finance critical infrastructure deficiency from 2016 to 2018. Obasanjo spoke last Friday on the proposed foreign loan when he received members of a political association, The National Patriots’ Movement of Nigeria (NPMN), led by the national coordinator, Chief Dosu Oladipo, at his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The former president not only opposed the loan bid, but also threatened to draw a battle line with the Federal Government should it go ahead to obtain the loan which he said could have far-reaching negative effects on the nation. At the meeting, which lasted for about five hours, were more than 70 eminent politicians drawn from all the states in the South-West. Speaking to the members who had come to inform him of the aim of the group and seek his advice, Obasanjo used the occasion of the visit to bare his mind on the debate of the possible emergence of a third force, as the march towards 2019 general election progressed.

According to Obasanjo, the state of the PDP Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), coupled with the internal contradictions in the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) was a pointer to a ‘third force’ emerging in the nearest future. He restated his position that while the PDP was already in the hands of undertakers preparatory to burial, the APC was at an intensive unit because its internal organs were seriously haemorraged. He expressed delight at the calibre and integrity of the members of NPMN, which comprised former ministers, governors, members of the National Assembly, envoys, and other categories of professionals.

Islam for Muslims / Khalid Abubakar Aliyu Steps Down As Imam Of Sultan Bello Mosque by JumiR: 12:40am On Nov 02, 2016
The Secretary-General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam ( JNI), Sheikh (Dr.) Imam Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, has stepped down as the imam of the Sultan Bello mosque. Recall last week Friday, suspected hoodlums attacked Aliyu's residence shortly after a dispute over who should be the imam disrupted Juma’at prayers at the mosque. Speaking on the incident last week, Dr. Aliyu said: “My family was attacked on Friday by hoodlums I believe were sent by Dr. Ahmed Gumi. I am thankful to Allah that nothing happened to them and for the timely intervention of the police.

"I did not appoint myself as the interim imam; I was appointed by the authorities in-charge of that duty which are the Sultan of Sokoto and the Emir of Zazzau and I am only obeying their orders. The surprising thing is that my appointment as imam is like asking a General to come down to the rank of Captain to bring peace to a certain situation, it is not a privilege.” Dr. Aliyu in a statement on his resignation as Imam late last night, he said," After a deep thought on the Imamship of Sultan Bello Mosque imbroglio, for the sake of Allahu SWT, and for safeguarding the image of Islam, and for the sake of peace, security, love and brotherhood, I have today stepped down as the Imam of the Sultan Bello Mosque after so being appointed."

Politics / Pres. Buhari: "If Anybody Has Another Country To Go To, Let Him Go,We Will Stay" by JumiR: 7:59pm On Nov 01, 2016
President Muhamadu Buhari, on Tuesday at the State House in Abuja held a high-level meeting with leaders and other stakeholders to seek ways to end the militancy and the sabotage of oil infrastructure in the Niger Delta region. The President, who did not read from a prepared speech, pitched a vision of unity and progress for the country in which peace reigns. He said peace, security, investment and prosperity are linked together, adding that “if we give peace a chance, investors will come here to invest. Nobody will invest in an insecure environment”. In a speech dripping with nationalist fervor, President Buhari said the problems his administration found on the ground were many, as illustrated in collapse of oil prices, inability of 27 of the 36 states of the Federation to pay salaries, absence of savings to fall back and having to deal with an elite who didn’t seem to care. All these, he said, made his government to conclude that: “life as usual is no longer affordable.”

While welcoming the 16-point request presented for negotiation by the Niger Delta leaders, President Buhari said he was still expecting reports from officials he had instructed to review the implementation of the Amnesty program to determine where government fell short so that amends can be made. The President said the service chiefs were putting together their own assessment of the militancy situation, saying “when I have these reports, including this one (just presented), we will revisit the situation (in the region) to ensure that we succeed this time.” He however cautioned the leaders of the Delta that they had more to do than anyone else to bring peace to the region, given the influence they have on militant groups. He expressed the determination of his administration to stay focused on its key campaign promises of securing the country, fighting corruption and creating jobs through the improvement of the economy.

“We are determined to make life comfortable and affordable to all Nigerians. If anybody has a country to go to, let him go, we will stay here and salvage our country.” The President who delivered his report card on the war against corruption and the efforts to secure the country repeated his call to the Niger Delta leaders to join the administration in bringing peace to the troubled region.“Please Your Excellencies, Your Majesties, Distinguished ladies and gentlemen; we all have our individual constituencies. Let us try to pacify our constituencies. Let us first recover our country, secure the country and let us invite people who will invest. Let us create jobs for our people and let us be accountable to our people where we are sitting on treasuries, whether it is local government, state or the center. We should ensure that we rebuild this country. Nobody wants to fail. So, the only way out is, if people understand and believe that we are doing our best at all levels, then we will have some peace. But it they have reason to doubt our performance and sincerity, then we will have problem”.

In their own presentation, the leaders and Stakeholders of the Niger Delta Region led by Chief Edwin Clark, a former minister put across to the President 16 issues for dialogue, for which they demanded a composite government committee. The issues included, among others, the completion of major road projects in the region, the take-off of the maritime university, the full activation of ports in Niger Delta and other water ways, the relocation of international oil companies to the region. Others issues include the issuance of oil blocks to the states and other stakeholders as well as the strengthening of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC and the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. They also broached the issue of fiscal federalism.

The Niger Delta leaders reaffirmed their support for the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari and expressed total commitment to the unity, peace and stability of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir David Lawal accompanied the President to the meeting. The Ministers of Justice, Defence, Petroleum (State), Transportation, Niger Delta, Education (State), the Chief of Defence Staff, the National Security Adviser, the Director-General, DSS, the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, the representative of the Chief of Air Staff and the Inspector-General of Police were also in attendance.

Politics / 'Jonathan Testifying For Dasuki In Court Is Desirable'- Dasuki's Lawyer A. Raji by JumiR: 2:51am On Oct 31, 2016
There are indications that the legal team of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki(retd.) are counting on former President Goodluck Jonathan to appear as a witness for Dasuki who is on trial for alleged mismanagement of $2.1billion arms funds. In a recent interview at the Oxford Union in the United Kingdom, recall Jonathan faulted the charges against Dasuki, claiming that the ex-NSA could not have stolen about $2.2billion votes for arms. According to Jonathan, “We bought warships, we bought aircraft, we bought lots of weapons for the army."

This statement may have prompted Dasuki's counsel to call on Jonathan as a witness at the court. Speaking with THE NATION, Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN), the ex-NSA’s counsel, said: “It will be desirable for Jonathan to testify for the ex-NSA. It will throw greater light into grey areas. And it will serve the interest of justice. It will be fantastic for him to go to court to testify. Dasuki is an agent of a disclosed and known principal.

"But, frankly speaking, I pray for a political solution to the problem because of the characters involved. Both the accused and the government should embrace a political solution to the problem. I believe the President is very sincere. He wants to reorganise Nigeria and he deserves the support of all. With a political solution, Mr. President will be in good stead to overcome unnecessary distractions in order to succeed. I pray that everybody will key into his vision and the economic challenges facing the nation.”

Politics / Olusegun Obasanjo To Folorunsho Alakija: 'Madam, I Made You A Billionaire' by JumiR: 2:46am On Oct 30, 2016
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said on Saturday in Lagos that Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, Africa’s richest woman by Forbes reckoning, was among the 25 billionaires he made during his tenure as President. Obasanjo stated this at the 2016 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Forum. The former president was reacting to an allegation by Alakija at the event, that the Obasanjo administration frustrated her effort when she ventured into oil business.Alakija, who spoke before Obasanjo, alleged that his administration illegally took an oil block allocated to her company after her family had invested all its savings to strike oil in commercial quantity.

“This oil block is in 5000 feet depth of water and was extremely difficult to explore. It took 15 years from the time that we were awarded the licence in 1993 till 2008 when we struck the first oil When this event happened, 60 per cent out of our 60 per cent equity in the business, was forcefully taken from us by the government of the day without due process. We had to fight back by going to court to seek redress and it took another 12 years for justice to be served in our favour. “In all those years it was my trust in God, my perseverance and the support of my family that got me going,” she said. . She used her experiences to charge the 2000 budding entrepreneurs at the event to be dogged, determined and not to give up in the face of challenges.

When Obasanjo spoke, the former president seized the opportunity to reply to the allegation by Alakija. “There is a saying in my part of the world that when a proverb touches you and you failed to reply, then you are a coward,” he said. Obasanjo explained that the action of the government then was in line with the Mining Act, which regulates oil prospection and exploration. “For you to come here and say that, for no cause whatsoever, you were denied what was rightfully yours, is not fair. “I do not know you from Adam and there is no reason I would have denied you what rightfully belonged to you. “So, you have struggled, and you have struck oil. God bless your heart. My delight is to be able to create Nigerian billionaire and I always say it that my aim, when I was in government was to create 50 Nigerian billionaires.

“Unfortunately I failed. I created only 25 and Madam, you are one of them,” he said. Obasanjo hailed the vision of Mr Tony Elumelu for helping to build African young entrepreneurs with his resources. He also urged the government to create conducive environment for people to move businesses into the country. The former president urged government to relax its visa policy and company registration process to encourage investors. He said the government should create certification centres in the country for easy exportation of agro processed products.

The President of Sierra Leone, Bai Koroma noted that what transpired between Obasanjo and Alakija was part of the challenges and difficulties that leaders lived with in the discharge of their duties. With limited resources competing for unlimited demands and expectations from the people, leaders were seen to be larger than life, he said. Koroma also commended Elumelu for his project for African young entrepreneurs adding that his vision resonated with a new Africa development agenda.

Politics / Court Sacks Stella Ngwu And Dennis Nnmachi Agbo As Federal Lawmakers by JumiR: 4:15pm On Oct 18, 2016
An Abuja Federal High Court on Monday sacked two members of the House of Representatives from Enugu State for alleged wrongful emergence as flagbearers of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 general elections.

The affected lawmakers are Stella Ngwu from Igbo-Etiti and Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency, and Dennis Agbo from Igbo-Eze North and Udenu Federal Constituency.

Two other members of the party, Gabriel Okafor and Chijioke Ugwu, had approached the court after PDP conducted its primaries in December 2014, ahead of the 2015 general elections.

They argued in separate suits later merged by the court that Stella Ngwu and Denis Agbo’s emergence as flagbearers of the party was wrong, since they were not elected delegates to represent the party at the November 1 congress held in 2014.

The PDP and its National Working Committee were the 1st and 2nd defendants in the suits, while the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was the 3rd defendant. Ms. Ngwu and Mr. Agbo were the 4th defendants in the two separate suits.

They prayed the court to declare the election of the fourth defendants null and void.

The trial judge, Okon Abang, held that the emergence of Ms. Ngwu and Mr. Agbo was unlawful.

He ordered them to vacate their offices and return to the treasury of the National Assembly all monies they had collected by way of salaries and allowances since they resumed office in the House.

Mr. Abang said the PDP and its National Working Committee had no right nor authority to use any delegate list for the election of its candidate for Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani and Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituencies, respectively, other than the list of delegates that emerged at congresses held on November 1, 2014.

“It is hereby declared that the 4th defendant did not emerge as winner from the primary election conducted for the purpose of electing the House of Representatives’ candidate of the 1st defendant for Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency for 2015 general election since the primary election that purportedly produced her as winner was not conducted based on the list of delegates that emerged from ward congresses of the 1st defendant held on 1st November, 2014.

“It is hereby declared that the plaintiff, Dr. Gabriel .A. Okafor won PDP’s party primary election on 6th December,2014 for Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency election into the House of Representatives.”

“It is hereby declared that the 4th defendant did not emerge as a winner from the primary election conducted for the purpose of electing the House of Representatives’ candidate of the 1st defendant for Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency for 2015 general election since the primary election that purportedly produced her as winner was not conducted based on the list of delegates that emerged from ward congresses of the 1st defendant held on 1st November, 2014.”

The judge ruled that Mr. Okafor was the rightful winner of the Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency seat election, and Mr. Chijioke Ugwu won the Egbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency, Enugu State in 2015.

He ordered INEC to immediately issue certificates of return to Messrs. Okafor and Ugwu respectively. He also awarded the sum of N100, 000 as cost against the defendants in favour of the plaintiff.

The sacked lawmakers are expected to appeal the ruling and the House of Representatives may not enforce the judgement until appeals are exhausted.

CONTROVERSIAL ANTI-PDP RULINGS

Tuesday’s rulings occur one week after Mr. Abang declared controversial businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim as the rightful governorship candidate of the PDP for the forthcoming Ondo gubernatorial election. He ordered INEC to replace the name of Eyitayo Jegede with that of Mr. Ibrahim.

Last week’s ruling was based on an earlier ruling he gave in June where he barred the PDP from holding its national convention in Port Harcourt after he recognised a faction of the party led by Ali Modu Sheriff. The controversial rulings on the PDP leadership tussle were later investigated by the National Judicial Council, NJC. The judge later told his close friends that he had been cleared of any wrongdoing by the NJC.

Mr. Abang was also berated by the Court of Appeal for sacking the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and replacing him with Samson Ogar after he ruled that Mr. Ikpeazu had tax clearance problems in a pre-election matter. The Court of Appeal reversed that ruling.

Religion / Anita Oyakhilome’s Latest Article TODAY{17 OCTOBER} After Remarriage Report by JumiR: 5:22pm On Oct 17, 2016
Pastor Anita, the ex-wife of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has today 17th October 2016, posted an article she titled, “Every Busy Household”. Her website has however been very busy. She posted the article without signing off with her name. Below is the post she ended with the poem ‘Mr. Nobody’ which can be found in  The Golden Book of Poetry (1947). Pastor Anita’s words below:

“Every busy household, organisation or occasional friendly gathering have that invisible presence with movements, sound or untraceable presence which can unexpectedly change the dynamics of things, from one location to the other where your belongings appear or disappear at random or you might notice somebody’s foot prints on the floor or stains on the wall, you name it. When events like this happen it reminds me of a poem titled “Mr. Nobody”.

“It can resonate with a parent trying to be a home detective when asking the kids at home “Who ate all the apple pie?” The instant response from all the kids might be an outright “Not me” so WHO? Who actually ate the huge Apple pie reserved for tea tonight? Well its left for the parent to find out and that can take a lot of questioning and a little investigating to unfold this mysterious so-called ghost while staring at those sweet little eyes and lips covers with crumbs.

“Who scattered my unlocked room with lots of papers, smashed my lipstick and spilled my lotion on the carpet without cleaning it up? Though none of my housemates owned up to the mess I know somebody was definitely in my room. I call this unknown presence who does all these mischievous deeds – typically the act of a child but sometimes could be an adult too “The Anonymous Mr. Nobody”. Although the gender is uncertain but what is apparent is this fellow does not want to be named or seen on the act. However, these actions can be humorous or it could come as a surprise when caught on a CCTV camera. If you have a Mr. Nobody experience, please share. I would love to hear about it, as I seem to have lost my chocolates at home to Mr. Nobody.”

Religion / Anita Oyakhilome Remarries - Dawn-To-Dusk News by JumiR: 7:30am On Oct 16, 2016
There are strong indications that the ex-wife of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Anita, has remarried. Dawn-To-Dusk News had on the 3rd October 2016 published an article titled 'Anita Oyakhilome sparks marriage rumours'. The article reported that Pastor Anita introduced 'Schafer' to her maiden name as she authored her latest article 'A Simple Prayer' as Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer.

From all indications, Pastor Anita has remarried. Here is why we at Dawn-To-Dusk News can report this authoritatively. Pastor Anita runs an online Christian portal {www.pastoranita.org which is linked to her verified Facebook page} where she writes articles on different subjects. She APPROVES all comments that are published on her website {see the screenshot}.

The confirmation of her marriage was revealed in one of the approved comments on Wednesday, 12th October 2016 where the writer Frau Glauben{who attended the ceremony} said, "Congratulations Pastor Anita for your new name. We wish you all the best as you begin a new chapter in your life as you have moved on to the glory of God. Old things are passed away, behold all things have become new. It was such a beautiful ceremony. We are so excited for you and your family. We Rejoice with you, Pastor Anita Schafer. God bless you Ma."

Apart from Glauben, there were two other comments that confirmed that Pastor Anita has indeed moved on! Dawn-To-Dusk News gathered that Pastor Anita had a quiet wedding with a European man sometime in September 2016. Recall in February 2016, a decree absolute was pronounced in the High Court of Justice Principal Registry of the Family Division in the United Kingdom dissolving her marriage to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. Pastor Anita and Pastor Chris, who co-founded Christ Embassy, have between them two daughters.

Politics / Femi Fani-Kayode Speaks On Buhari's Kitchen Comment About Aisha by JumiR: 7:42pm On Oct 14, 2016
Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode last posted on Facebook on the 11th October 2016 when he commented on the France President's warning to Russia. Two days after this post, he returned to Facebook this evening of 14th October. Not talking on the Chibok girls that were released on Thursday, 13th October, he reacted to President Buhari's remark in Germany about his wife's BBC interview. On Buhari's remark that, "I don't know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room", Fani-Kayode took to his Facebook timeline to say,

"When our President can get up and tell the whole world all the way from distant Germany that his wife "belongs to the kitchen, the living room and the other room" simply because she dared to speak her mind to the BBC then you know that he is in the grip of something evil and that demons are speaking through him. It is all part of the spiritual dimension of living in the Villa that Abati was referring to in his latest essay. The President's mind has become twisted and he is now possessed by strange and powerful entities. He needs a lot of prayer."

Politics / "Buhari Was Joking About Aisha Belonging To His Kitchen Comment" - Garba Shehu by JumiR: 6:57pm On Oct 14, 2016
The spokesman to President Buhari, Mallam Garba Shehu, has said Nigeria's Number 1 man was joking with the statement on his wife's role in the "kitchen, living room, and the other room". In a series of tweets, Shehu said,"My friends, can't a leader get a sense humour anymore? Mr. President laughed before that statement was made.He was obviously throwing a banter.Politics sometimes should be spiced with humour. Those of us close to him knows there is never a dull moment with him.Mr. President respects the place of women in our society. He believes in the abilities of women. One of Nigeria's most sensitive office today is headed by a woman, Mrs. Adeosun. This is an evidence of the confidence he reposes on women."

Recall President Buhari had in a brief chat with reporters in Germany today responded to his wife's BBC interview that,“I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.” Buhari, who laughed off his initial statement, further told the reporters that he hopes his wife will remember that he ran for president three times before succeeding on the fourth attempt. In his words, “So I claim superior knowledge over her and the rest of the opposition, because in the end I have succeeded. It’s not easy to satisfy the whole Nigerian opposition parties or to participate in the government.”
