Good evening my profs in the House.
Please, a client have a following setup.
1. 5pcs of felicity 10kva Hybrid inverter connected in 3phase. 20kva, 20kva & 10kva
2. 5pcs of old version of 15kwh Felicity Lithium batteries.
3. 80pcs of 300w

Now, the inverter is not charging well even with the constant NEPA light that is connected with the inverter once there is an outage the inverter won't last long and the batteries will run down. While the 10kva inverter being the 3p is on constantly displaying error 14 in front of the screen and the grid icon flashes continuesly without mercy.

My question is, what may be the problem and the possible solution.
Note, the set-up is not up to 5 months. Thanks in anticipation

What does error 14 refer to in felicity's documentation?

quite understandable. i need your ideas on this... Assuming i have a hybrid inverter whose maximum mppt input it 4kw and i oversize my panels to 7 kilowatt incase of cloudy days.. Does it mean that my hybrid inverter will clip the power to 4kw only during sunny days?

It may not make sense putting such amount of excess in one place, you may stress the device. You can put the excess on a charge controller or you double the inverter if you have the means.

Off I went to the Market today to see if we would be able to arrange an inverter for the house.
I only told my husband, whatever we settle for must be able to carry our freezer.
My husband is an electrical engineer so he designed the power requirements of the house so we have an idea of what we were searching for.
Budget 1.3m tops.
We settled for a store we saw on Jiji with reasonable price, called to find out if the store was open since it's sallah and located the store.
We were able to get the following.
4kva/48v microtec inverter ₦290,000
4 nos 220ah/12v lotion battery @₦160,000 each making ₦640,000
6 250w Canadian fairly used panels @₦58,000 each making ₦348,000
1 60S mppt charge controller Felicity ₦115,000
Battery rack ₦20,000
20m 6mm DC cable 40,000
Total spent ₦1,453,000.
Transport 14,000 to my house .
Tomorrow the installer will be around to start installation.
We negotiated 50,000 workmanship.
He will come with panel sittings and screws
.I intend to use the inverter on 15 energy saving bulbs.
1 50" tv.
Phone charging.
4 ports.
My 200l freezer inverter freezer/ medium fridge.
The panels aren't sufficient to charge the batteries, except you'll be majorly charging the batteries with the grid, those batteries may fail sooner.

Almost 2m. I believe the price would have gone up as a result of fuel price increase.
U should be more particular about location.
That's correct.
A similar setup we recently installed cost a little above 3m, powers three freezers and other home appliances.

Also between tubular battery and felicity gel battery which is better? Or even a better recommendation.

Simple answer - Yes

Homaya Pro M1000 versus Powmr MPPT-60A Charge Controller Solar Review (Specs Only)

Updated to include Powmr MPPT-60A maximum PV withstanding Voltage

Maximum PV withstanding voltage for Powmr is 160 volts but the company itself warns not to run it at that rate for long because it will break the controller.

So I would say that figure is not to be relied upon

At 160 volts maximum PV withstanding voltage, Powmr has better capacity

So you gotta decide the 100 volts PV hard limit of Homaya or the 160 volts PV unreliable hard limit which do you prefer to bank on?

The Powmr beats the Homaya but I understand you're just marketing.

hello house.. Few articles i have come across suggests that solar panels should face south for optimal energy production. I decided to check on my panel direction using a digital compass on my phone this is what i get.. Does it mean my panels are facing the north? I have been getting poor outputs from a 1.2kw setup.. Althought i was not the one who mounted it.

Today i went to aanother location where the roof position was pointing in a south east direction with panels on it.. i also want to know if this is a good direction also..

I will appreciate all comments from everyone... thanks

Stand with your left hand on the side where the sun rises from, then your right side where the sun sets, your back would be the northern direction while were you're facing is the southern part, this should give you an idea.

1.Did snap the nameplate, the carton is VIP solar

2. I don’t know how it was connected

3. the installer said it should face where the sun rise

4. Cost per KW

Answer this yourself, if the panels face where the sun rises from, what happens when the sun reaches the zenith, what happens when the sun crosses to the western side?

Finally installed my solar system, thanks to all the information in this group

I have a question, I have 3 panel rated 380W but my charge controller only read 340-400W the installer said it would have been higher if I used 200W panel, I am planning to add another 380W solar…. I just want to ask if the reading from the charge controller is normal

Why hasn't anyone made a comment about the inverter and battery combination or does that inverter have editable setting or charging profile suitable for lithium?

Guys abeg, I need your help and clear advise - preferably from those in the know.

I urgently need to set up 10Kva solar system and I need your advice abeg.

My needs are simple: power 2 inverter AC at least for 24 hours. Lights and TV, occasional water pump use.

I have narrowed things down to using LiFePo4 batteries due to have a longer use life, but picking a reputable brand seem to be a minefield. I'm leaning towards Felicity but I am not even sure anymore due to all I have read about them etc. Please advice.

I have been using my 5kva hybrid inverter to cook, iron, pump since 2021. No issues. 5kva have enough headroom to power those loads talk more of an higher capacity inverter. Don't on all the loads at once. Whatever you do, do it at your own discretion....your inverter can power those loads easily.

Good morning everyone

Abeg why is it that inverter installers always tell you not to use pressing irons? They never offer any meaningful explanation.

My inverter is a 5.5KVA with 4 batteries (12v 220AH)

Note: I've used a pressing iron and air fryer on the inverter without any issues but I sometimes wonder if I'm low key damaging the inverter.

Thanks
Damaging your batteries not your inverter, except you're using it during high yield solar period of the day.

I knew you would bring it on here. I explained to you that the park no longer stays over there because of the road they are constructing at iyanoba, so they had to move to iyana paja ( according to my aboki that took the battery there), gave you price for the delivery which you said you can’t afford. Will I be the one to pay delivery fee for you all the time? How many times have you sent Growatt inverter to me from Abeokuta to fix it for you, which you and I know that their office is in Lekki. How much does dispatch charges to Lekki? It’s 12k. But I do collect 8k to and fro from you and add the balance cos you bought the inverters from me. Did I tell you all that? NO. The last inverter you sent to me for repair, you told me to help you wrap it and send back to Abeokuta for you, that you’ll send me money for carton, which I didn’t see carton to wrap it and I bought wrapping nylon of 4k and wrapped it so it doesn’t get scratched, You wanted to send me the money but I told you to forget about it. So many things I’ve done for you as a customer, but I don’t tell you. But because of what happened this morning, you ran here to type, just to spoil my name. Chief, dey check well o

You're simply just diverting from the main issue by bringing up history which you also profited from.

This particular case is simple. He required that you deliver the battery by a timeframe which you didn't meetup with (either your fault or not), yet you want him to suffer on two counts, his integrity because he couldn't deliver to the hospital which was a life threatening situation, you want him to lose funds after he has found an alternative.
You could've simply returned the battery back to the main seller you sourced it from or even try to pacify your customer and reach an agreement which wouldn't allow the matter come here but it looks like you don't always really seem to care about your end users, they must always take the fall, especially when money has changed hands.

Hello Juror,

See my present situation and initial plan.
At home right now I have 24# 350w solar panels all optimally placed on my car stand with right orientation during the house construction. 16# service the Nissan Leaf batteries while 8# service the BYD. On a good day they all float at just after midday.

What I'm thinking now is moving the 16 panels to instead service this EVE bank while the 8 goes for the Nissan Leaf. I have some 8 250w panels on the gen shed that I can incorporate into the BYD cells.

Now, since I really didn't consider how big these guys would turn out to be what do you think about this plan. Also, EVE masters in the house could please help chip in. Will these 16# be enough or I should just plan a whole new increased amount to still get same float around midday? I intend on connecting them through the Growatt inverter being advertised by @justcallmenuel with 100A solar charging when I have the funds to obtain it.

Contributions will be appreciated.

I think what you've planned to do is fine, though you really have to be sure that the 16 panels can float those EVE cells by midday though I'm a bit skeptical. It would help if we know the capacities of the trio, so we can make some assumptions based on how the Nissan leaf and BYD fairer earlier with the 16/8 setup.
