So according to your school of taught with lithium sun go balance.
The reality is that he'll hardly check the sun's output before he powers the pumping machine any afternoon he wants to use it and sometimes he may not even be the one to switch it on, or he may even use a timer for it. The implication is that nobody can guarantee what the sun's output would be at the time the machine is being used or even the battery's state of charge, this means that at some point, the battery may have to supply all the power required by the pumping machine and there's no gainsaying that lithium would be more suited in such scenario than lead acid except he has some other automation in place to check the battery's state of charge and solar output which then allows the pump or not.

By direct user experiences, which is more efficient, Canadain Solar or Jinko or JASolar?

I haven't used any of these and I need to make a purchase asap.

Responses please.....
Jinko and JASolar, the halfcuts

No it didn't.

That's what made me test the wires

Disconnect all connections on the control.

Connect only the AC wires, then read the DC voltage if there's any in the red and black that is supposed to go to the fan.

Thank you.

I figured it out after a while

Problem now is that 2 work.fine and the 3rd one it seems when I connect it to the positive AC power I get power in all the connection wires in the wall control.

If I apply a tester all the wires on the wall control light up

Is it that the wall control is bad?

I'm almost certain my AC wire connection is correct. Just positive and negative

Is it that the wall control is bad?

After the connection did it work at all ?

My daytime inverter, the one with a low capacity battery but with solar panel is not able to take that start up current. It looks like it is the battery that it takes the startup current from and not from the panel. So, it seems only 2 options are available to me... find a way to reduce that start up current with a soft starter or replace batteries.
Ok... I don't know if you can soft start.

Please guys I will like to know or be enlightens why people the dislike of hydrib inverters (with solar charger controller and battery) don't know why most folks prefer to get individual pieces rather than going to all in one

Could it be there are not durable or what

For me I felt there are cheaper and take little space

That just my beginner option what do local man knows
Separate inverter, charge controllers have their advantage over the all in one especially when there's a malfunction. If the all in one has a fault and is decommissioned for repairs, your batteries are alone till the repair is completed unlike if either the charge controller or the inverter in the standalone setup is faulty, there's still a charging source available.

Current load is 1.5HP AC - the power saving type, 240W Gaming Laptop, 100W 50" TV, over 20 15-30W light bulbs, water heater.
Additional TVs may be added in the near future, at least 2 DC standing fans, and possibility to add, 1 or 2 more ACs. Electricity is fine for now but certainly not sufficient hence the few batteries and poor but cheaper battery choice

If you have the money, I'm not sure these loads are actually for lead acid batteries, that's not saying lead acid won't work but you'll need lots of space and babysitting for DOD, balancing etc.

My oga, please ignore the cost cutting

As much as I wan cut cost, I also need durability even if it will cost more….. durability always pays in the long run

Which charge controller do you advice I get
If you're really talking about durability, you may have to double the amount on the quote or increase the budget while taking off some load from the list for now, especially those machine - machine loads.

Hello house. So I got interested in getting a high wattage solar inverter due to my future needs/load - a 10kva 48V one. I don't want to buy anything less due to the natural tendency to keep upgrading. Current budget will be able to make that possible along with a maximum of 4 350W panels and 4 12V 250Ah deep cycle gel batteries (already got the panels, batteries and inverter) along with a 100A MPPT charge controller. Couldn't afford the lithium ones for now.

Problem is I don't know the voltage of the panels so I'm confused on what arrangement to go with for a start. Series or parallel? Especially knowing I'll be adding to those panels with time. From what I've read so far on the thread, I deduced the batteries should be connected in series to get that 48V.

PS: I'm not DIYing, but hiring some engineers who have just a little bit of experience in solar installations. Hence the questions.

With your batteries, you should be talking about minimum of eight panels, and you already said maximum of four?
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Juror: 3:25pm On Nov 30, 2022
emmy9500:

The load are basic house hold appliances

One medium freezer
Pumping machine
Fans
TV
Lighting
Washing machine
Laptops/phones ….

did the installer tell you that the setup would power these or you're the one assuming?
Because your batteries are already dead, even before installation.

220ah afripower battery 170,000x2=340,000

60ah charge controller 30,000

200w 24v panel mono 60,000x4=240,000

20m 6mm panel cable 1400x20=28,000

CCt beaker 6000

Change overswitch 5000

Load cable 900x10=9000

Big PVC trunk =3500

3x3 socket and pattrex =2000

Panel installation kits=5000

Installation 20,000

Total 868,000

Would love your inputs

The panels are insufficient
I doubt the charge controller is suitable, especially for the type of batteries quoted.

Help Needed

I have an Axpert (Easun 3kv Hybrid inverter).

It normally goes off in the evening when the sun is out but till now today (almost 9pm) its still showing solar charging and the fan is on.

Has anyone experienced this?
Is there anyway to reset this type of inverter?
Would it be OK to turn off the battery breaker so it goes off and maybe starts normally in the morning (I know they usually say everything must be disconnected before battery)?

If you have a PV breaker, you could trip it first then the battery, otherwise you could've done it at night when there wasn't any solar input.
And if you don't have a PV breaker you should introduce one.

Please house, can you review solar floodlights and streetlights? I have had and still having horrible experiences with them. I bought over 25 of keye streetlights and floodlights last year, they didn't survive 6months of good brightness before they all went bad, I returned just 3 to their office last week to rectify based on warranty, they replaced the battery in 2 of them, I charged for 48hours then use one night it worked fine, then next night 5w led bulb is brighter than it as I write, though I learnt my lessons late, it appears that nothing I ever bought from Keye ends up good. Also, this SMS Black 300w floodlight with 2 panels, when I check outside my house at 2am, they are all gone and they are barely one year as well. I'm about to give up and want to revert to conventional lighting from my house AC power but it would be wise to know of other people's experience here too. Thank you

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I am also hoping someone would share their experience with a reliable brand.

I will also buy Vision Light control monitor for it. Is it same thing with the control unit you are talking about?

Can you help to answer if dedicated 12v LFP charger is needed for TBB 1.6KVA 24V Inverter?

Also if dedicated 12v LFP charger is needed for TBB 1.2KVA Inverter?

You may need a dedicated charger;
- if the charger's parameters are adjustable and you want to have better control
-if it has more amps to charge the battery faster.

Basically, if I buy a Qasa DC ceiling fan,. I can swap out my current AC fan with it?

No stories, no hassle, nothing to buy in addition?
If you get the latest type, no need for adapters, if the previous one, you'll need 12V 3A adapter.
How would you know? Check the wall control inside the carton, if it's heavy and has some serious circuit inside it apart from the circular rheostat knob, it's the latest one.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Juror: 3:46pm On Nov 21, 2022
Let me mention that the Qasa AC/DC standing fan consumes less too, of course it works only via the DC supply but the AC/DC wall fan consumes a lot when you power it via the AC port.

Do you mind stating the amount for fully coupled 135ah @24v & 12v respectively?

If one is going for 24v route, does one need battery balancer and dedicated 24v LFP charger?

TBB 1.6KVA-24V has 25A charger, is this sufficient to charge the above battery capacity?

TBB 1.2KVA-12V has 40A charger, if one decide to go 12v route, is dedicated LFP still needed?

Please answer above questions respectively.

If you're buying tbb and for lithium, are you buying with the control unit?
you'll need it if you have to frequently adjust it's settings.

Please experts in the house I need help, my budget is max #300k and I need something that can power my house because PHCN is getting crazy,

A friend advised me to go for this beebeejump because that's what he is using too and another friend advised I go for the Qasa solar generator

Now I'm confused about what's best ,

My house

One TV
One Fan
Home Theater
Decoder
2 laptop
Phones
4 bulbs,

There is AC and Fridge but I can use those ones on PHCN when they give light

Please what do u think is the best option for me ??

Thanks in advance

I doubt you can do 300k with what you've listed, maybe you should go with the type of your friend's beebee jump and use it same way he's using his.

Could u share the link of these fans,
Whats their real life wattage?
I don't have a link, I usually just search for vendors and marketers when I need them, I think I've installed over 14 units for different users.
The minimum level using the remote (the wall unit tends to act up after sometime) is around 4Watts and it increases by almost 4Watts for every next level, personally even the third - fourth level is too much for me but the max it can go is 36W. I've installed some using 12V 2A adapters and they work within the range. 3A adapters are usually tough to find and I'd have to import a lot for use, but the good thing is that with the recent versions, Qasa now includes an inbuilt AC to DC supply with the wall unit and also a DC -DC converter, and it has multiple power inputs, you can input even a DC/solar panel directly or just connect AC supply.

I know that if I add properly sized panels later I may be able to use a fridge during daytime etc, but I just need to get something going with grid+gen charging for now.

I don't want to buy/waste money wey I no get please.

Those 3 ceiling fans consuming 180w shouldn't be in your system at all, replace them with Qasa DC/AC ceiling fans. It's a no brainer.

Please, is it possible for one pv string and one battery bank to run two inverters via changeover switch?
A case of total off grid where inverter A (say 5kw 48v hybrid) could be powered in the day and switch to inverter B (say 3.5kva 48v with standalone Mppt CC) in the night via changeover switch.
POINTER: One pv string and one battery bank (Lfp) tide to the two inverters.

Yes, it's possible.

I guess you're trying to use a low consumption inverter at night.

I will recommend you get a 24v 3.5kva SRNE Hybrid inverter with a built-in MPPT (150v). A 3.5kva should be able to handle all your current & future loads (deep freezer) and with a built-in MPPT saves you the cost of buying a separate charge controller. SRNE is also a good brand with an authorized dealer in Lagos for your warranty issues. But dollar prices are going up so you may need to adjust your budget a little. Contact Mr Ugo below for a quote. For solar panels, i recommend you get Yingli solar panels from their dealer in Lagos. A 380W or 450W panel should be okay for your setup (8 pieces). Yingli solar panels are budget friendly and far more reliable than those nameless chinese panels that are flooding the market.

It's actually 80w from my measurement and I've maximum confident in it ( small but has mighty power).
The wattage of transformer based inverter generally is high. Once your battery bank is properly sized, you have less time to bother about things like this.
I was majorly concerned about adjustable charging features, lvd, lfd compatibility and it has all these.

80Watts ?! On felicity too?
Which specification is that, the 5kVA ?

Yes, I understand the needs you've stated and they're valid, as long as the battery bank can cater for it, no problem. I personally always try to reduce consumption / loss from every means possible if possible.
