Saddamochieng00: We might not be that great at football but there's a huge fanbase for European football over here. All this thanks to cable and internet connections being widely available (which am sure are considered a luxury, preserve only for the high and mighty in Accra)
Funny enough, internet traffic out of Accra is almost 2 times that of Kenya... Which shows that, internet is a luxury in Kenya but not in Ghana...
Facts are stubborn
And guess what, you guys claim you have 53 million internet users.... i wonder why your leaders keep lying to you... It means that, even a day old baby in Kenya is using internet
Ghana has 15 or 17 million internet users and their internet traffic alone is almost twice that of Kenya 53 million users. This speaks volume
rvp20182: If Nigeria was to genuinely succeed many people would be very proud; myself included. In fact until I came to this forum; in 2014 and around when Nigeria was growing at 10 percent; and I had no idea how messed that it was; I was very proud of Nigeria; Until I stumbled on this forum on Nairobi City thread..and I was suprised by how NIgerians were suprised by how Nairobi looked developed. Obviously we have had years here to see just how hopeless the country really is.
I am personally very proud of africa countries making real progress like Rwanda, Botswana, and such. I use to think Ghana was in that list - but nah - it's a little Zambia - a cross breed of Zambia and Nigeria.
I believe most kenyans want nothing but a progressive Africa.
you are heartbroken that your country is like Zambia and Somalia and cant be as progressive and developed as Ghana
obaaderemi: Is it not hilarious how he stuck to his gun like an idioot child and keeps repeating the same nonsense: Standard vat rate around the world is 15%?
rvp20182: This is from your gov - maybe you will trust it more. Ghana VAT is 15 percent. They are levies charge on some goods for NHIL/GETFund just like in Kenya we have many levies too - like road levy, railway development levy, electricity dev lev, rural electrification levy, etc - that are earmarked or ringfenced for a specific purpose - unlike taxes which are dumped into one treasury basket. https://gra.gov.gh/domestic-tax/tax-types/vat-standard/ Value Added Tax (VAT) is a tax applied on the value added to goods and services at each stage in the production and distribution chain. It forms part of the final price the consumer pays for goods or services. In some countries it is called ‘Goods and Services Tax’ or GST. Click HERE to File and Pay for your VAT Standard Rate.
The 2018 Mid-Year budget amended the VAT rate from 15% to 12.5% and delinked the National Health Insurance Levy (NHIL) and Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) from VAT by removing their input tax deductibility. These changes have implications on the computation of tax for VAT Registered persons. Click HERE to File and Pay for your NHIL/GETFund.
obaaderemi: You need to improve on your learning ability. Put aside your ego, it's why you are dumb.
There's nothing like worldwide standard for vat rates. Stop displaying your stvpidity on an international forum. Okay, let me indulge your stupidityy a bit. Take the four countries on this thread for example. Ghana(12.5%)
Nigeria (7.5%)
South Africa (15%)
Kenya(16%)
Arithmetic Average= 12.75%
Can you see you are dumb? Sweden is doing 25% VAT and it's their own standard. Sri Lanka is doing 8% and it's okay. Some countries are even doing 0%.
Correction
Ghana's VAT rate is 20% An additional 7.5% is added for National health insurance, Ghana education trust fund and an emergency levy
rvp20182: West Africa education system need an overhaul. Taxation is taught in Kenya primary schools. Anyone earning wages in most countries pay income tax - popularly known as P.A.Y.E - pay as you earn. This tax on labour. VAT is tax on the invoice value of goods and services. This tax on receipt or invoice value of most of goods and services you sell. Corporate tax is from gross profit that companies make. Custom duties - are from imports.
you didn't say that
you said, "wage is income tax" and that is a very foolish thing to say cause it doesn't make sense
The fact that kenyan education has failed you and made you useless does not mean everyone else's education has failed them.
rvp20182: Another west African bonobo. The standard vat rate in world is 15 percent. That is the average. VAT has nothing to do with currency or wages. Wages is PAYE or income tax.
Before we lose the point in your habitat - the zoo - kenya charging 16 percent - do not therfore overtax it citizen - which was obaboon lame excuses to explain why Nigeria and Kenya have same revenues with all oil inclusive
rvp20182: Concentrate on stopping Chinese criminal gold gangs. To convert titanium sands to titanium metal is very costly process - that is why it has very little practical usage - titanium bike is probably more expensive than your car. Otherwise, titanium sands are one of the most plentiful of minerals. It is not gold that you got.
Titanium is the ninth-most abundant element in Earth's crust (0.63% by mass)[22] and the seventh-most abundant metal. It is present as oxides in most igneous rocks, in sediments derived from them, in living things, and natural bodies of water.[6][7] Of the 801 types of igneous rocks analyzed by the United States Geological Survey, 784 contained titanium. Its proportion in soils is approximately 0.5 to 1.5%.[22]
There is nothing like Chinese mining here
Mining is solely done by Ghanaians
Titanium is highly used in aircraft manufacturing, I guess you didn't now that....
I'm actually viewing this lie laced with chest thumbings with 16 bail-outs in mind.
You're the grandchildren of IMF in africa and you're confidently peddling lies because you're under 1000, 000 hobbit's support who can still overhype your lie - save for vankelvin.
The reason why we have no defaulted on our debt like Kenya, is the fact that our Sovereign Wealth Funds have almost 20 billion dollars combine and the profit is used to service our debt.
Our taxes go into recurrent expenditure and expenditure funding comes from our SWF and that is why we have not borrowed to fund projects like Kenya have been doing....
Now laugh when you are in the long cue waiting to buy bread in Nairobi
obaaderemi: Sharp man! You got the message. I was indicating that Kenya is likely to end up like Lebanon in the post. They are piling up debt and putting up conspicuous consumption projects just like Lebanon did.
Now Kenya is inching towards defaulting on its loans.
the Kenyans dont understand simple household economics ....
If you use borrowed money to feed your family, when the day of repayment comes, you will find yourself wanting like Kenya is.
