rvp20182: Generation efficiency is deducted from installed capacity. You installed capacity is 5000Mw - you only manage to generate 2800Mw - and only 1800mw or about - end up in consumers who pay the bill. System losses are lost through rickety transmission connection - Ghana has Africa worst - losing 1/4 of all power it supplies. That is why your electricity companies are ever broke.[/s]
Madness at every front
Yet we are able to meet our 4000MW peak demand without import
Go back home and do the maths again, its simple addition and subtractions
Dont tell me, they didn't teach you that in a kenyan KG
A Ghanaian today consumes 6 to 8 times the amount of electricity that poor backward kenyans consume
rvp20182: Bla de bla. Mad cow such statistics are freely available - they are no a hidden gem like your gold. Just type Ghana peak power demand...remove system losses...it about 1800mW
Since they are not hidden, why dont you take the time to find it, since you are interested..?
Madness is doing you
Lunatic does not even know what peak demand is ....... system losses is deducted from Available Generation and not demand..... fool At peak hours, the demand must be served so, generation capacity is run above demand to account for the losses
That is why, at any given point, Ghana generation capacity must be 25% above peak demand...
Currently, Ghana does not have anymore surplus capacity that it pays for..
vaxx: I hate when i am talking to an idiot who speaks from both sides of the mouth, you can't be accepting a valid and invalidating it at the same time. you earlier reject dumsor, fact was thrown at you, you responded back with another fact validating my initial premises. You again look for excuse, the fact was thrown at you further, you end up running syphilis of the mouth.
even in USA, repairing and maintenance are continuous work, you should stupidly know it by now. they are times light go off for such purposes.
well, i hope the "1 nairobians youth, 1 wheelbarrow " policy is going up well.
rvp20182: Stop shouting like an he-goat on heat and listen FOR ONCE. KENYA is MILES AHEAD In quality of power. Do you see anybody complaining in kenya about dumsor or power rationing or NEPA?
In kenya if power goes off - there an emergency that respond within 1hr in many places. Rolling blackout those are rare unless it some rural places where a transformer has knocked down.
Nigeria has installed capacity of 10,000MW but it collapses every time; The same with Ghana; 5000Mw; that use waste 2500mw; and pay 1B dollars...that is wasted excess charge.
If you were using your brain like kenya - you would have invested that excess 1B - to IMPROVE QUALIY of transmission. You can have 100,000MW but if your network is rickety, is not redudant and collapse - it's useless.
1) Building a redundant transmission line - like Kenya - 250M dollars invested - to ensure most substation are connected to two sources - one goes down - another is brought in https://www.esi-africa.com/regional-news/east-africa/kenya-power-introduce-redundant-network/ The redundant network can be explained as the alternative line of supply such that if one line goes off, power is automatically supplied by the other line hence the customer stays continuously connected. The system is reported to be used in advanced economies.
2) You invest in Live Maintenance - meaning line is repaired while it's powered on.
Ghana's installed capacity is 5500MW and peak demand is 4000MW.
THAT is more than twice kenya demand....
We have proper infrastructure and that is why our grid can handle all the demand and generation we are adding....
All those things you posted are nothing compare to Ghana investment into the energy sector....
Our investment here are into the billions and not the few millions you guys can afford..
While you guys are now building transmission lines to connect the rest of your dark country to create a power pull with your neighbours, Ours was built 50 years ago and its running perfectly as we continue to invest in modern technology.
August 23, 2021 THE LATEST POWER SUPPLY CHALLENGES IN GHANA By Ishmael Ackah
Power supply challenges (including instability, low voltage, and blackouts), known as ‘Dumsor’, have plagued Ghana for years, and remain significant concerns for both industrial and residential customers. In just the first half of 2021, multiple major outages have occurred (see Annex), caused by three main issues:
Tripped transmission lines. Transmission lines in Ghana are frequently overloaded, not well maintained, and non-redundant. In March 2021, a fault in a major line caused cascading failures that crashed the entire system for several hours. Reduced water level at the Bui reservoir. Low water levels have taken the 400MW dam mostly offline, save for a few evening hours when demand is highest. This has degraded electricity quality and caused repeated outages in Kumasi. Gas/Fuel-related outages. At least 9 major outages were related to inadequate fuel stock, gas pressure dips, or other interruptions in fuel supply.
rolling blackout is acceptable in Kenya because you guys have no money to solve it
68816419: stop deceiving your self mazze, your government is actually building nothing, all those building are mostly owned by the private firms and they are there to maximize profits , lets take Kibera slums as a case study before heading to other slums, the blue and red circled figures are the "said" buildings been built by government since independent. can we equate that to progress?
If Ghanaians want, they will buy your entire country and turn you lazy fools into farmers... but who wants a waste land anyway?
Have you wondered why nothing proper gets built on those lands?
rvp20182: Probably NO Ghanaian can afford land in that picture - maybe you King . 1/4 of an acre is nearly 1 million dollars. 1 acre is 3 million dollars. That is South B, South C, Nairobi West and Industrial Area. After the stadium is upper hill...an acre there is 6-10m dollars.
Because they remain undeveloped compare to West African rural areas...
Mau Mau struggle is one of the last freedom struggles and not the among the first...
learn proper history
rvp20182: Kikuyu homeland of central Kenya - Mau Mau road is being built along the smuggling routes used by Mau Mau freedom fighters - one of Africa first armed struggle against the colonialist - the British - that inspired like of ANC.
Mau Mau armed struggle against the British started in 1952...and ended in 1960s. Jomo Kenyatta the 1st kenya president was jailed for being a Mau Mau leader and released after 7yrs to become kenya first president
As you can see many kenya rural areas are NOT comparable to any in west africa
Bifwoli: Please just stfu coz both those scores are classified by UNDP as medium scores by UNDP (medium =0.550 to 0.699)
So you think you're smarter than learned professors at UNDP or what? Go back to your Agbogbloshie slum in Accra a.k.a Old Fadama and get some education.
the fact that it is medium does not mean both countries are at the same level...
That is why Ghana is ranked above kenya, sharing 138 with another country while Kenya is below...
UNDP people know it's not the same hence why they added ranks...
Dumb kid and a product of kenyan education...
Agbloboshie has been demolished and the huge land is being converted into a huge hospital with parks and gardens....
Go back to dandora to learn home sense
Funny enough, old fadama is better developed and the people live in quality houses than 70% of Nairobi residents living in abject slums or slumscrapers with no windows or lift.
Point number 2, Ghana does not appear anywhere in top 20 on road quality index. Kenya is number 7. Evidence on the screenshots below.
Point number 3, DON'T PEDDLE LIES! Ghana is a zoo with one small slum integrated town called accra. The second biggest city in your zoo looks more like kibera slums.
You're an old man, try at least to prove your rants with evidence .
you cant have quality roads when 93% of your country roads remain unpaved and compare yourself to a country where almost 50% of it roads are paved.
Secondly, My second biggest city is also bigger and better developed than Nairobi, which is your first.
Can you show us how 0.611 and 0.601 became equal? Do you know the difference between 0.611 and 0.601?
So far, no one mentioned HDI until you brought it up zombie....
Only irrelevant backward countries like yours think HDI is not important by the way.
Those countries usually tend to be slumpolis where poverty is around 40% to 50% like kenya
Shma2020: All reputable sources ranks kenya ahead of Ghana, save HDI.
Even on HDI, Kenya still plays on the same level with your zoo even with her nearly 2 times Ghana population. That alone should tell you alot.
General infrastructural development sells itself, I don't need stats to know that Ghana plays catch up game with kampala Uganda. Nigerians have proven themselves with photos of massive rail lines infrastructures, stations, road infrastructure, buildings infrastructures etc just like Kenya. What does Ghana have to offer apart from football stadium and one Kumasi interchange?
All reputable links put Ghana ahead of your slumy country
In HDI, you are not on the same level with Ghana
Ghana has more roads and more quality reliable service provisions than kenya.
Ghana has more building infrastructure and an extensive rail infrastructure beyond that of Kenya, already constructed Ghana has better hospitals, better school infrastructures and add the rest
Shma2020: Unfortunately, Our infrastructure will take your city (which stands to be a town in Kenya) 30 yrs to hit the level of Nairobi 1980 in infrastructural development. I have evidence
Yet kenya is behind Ghana in infrastructure...
And when you pick infrastructure and break it down to it individual components, kenya is still behind in every single one of them..
rvp20182: For me this how internet work. I guess internet for you is WWW. Some of us saw gopher protocols - way before internet (WWW). WWW aka internet is protocol designed by Sir Berne-lee at Cern. Cern is like 10kms from house. https://www.esol.com/uploaded/product/TCPIP_Stack_E_3.png
As the end-user, this is all you may know because this is what transpires between your router and your device beyond which you know nothing
so I wasn't lying when I said you knew nothing about the internet and how packets are transmitted from one hub to another
Shma2020: But you ran away then come back with silly comparison of houses! should we give you guys chance to debate? cos what I know is that your brain can't stand rvp's even by half. You reason like a toddler.
I finished educating your bro who ran away to go and learn more about IXP
Shma2020: There is nothing to learn from Accra. One video will lay bare all the dwarf buildings and unpaved streets in that weeny slumbolish. Remember we long time concluded that Accra is a slum? There is a pile of shanties in every 1km you move and that is the reality of things.
Accra should first beat Abuja before thinking of competing Nairobi
Accra does not need to beat a slum like nairobi that is far below it....
Shma2020: Lie. You're a port guard. You make surveillance on those CCTv servers and we know that.
Rvp bombarded you with facts. It wasn't long enough until your puny brain started overheating and that is when you made a moonlight flit.
Rp does not know his ass from his head let alone have the intelligence to even be able to bombard someone like me who is a 1000% knowledgeable than he is ..
Your first sentence shows your intellect is below that of a KG kid
rvp20182: Nobody count the roads off the main road - the estate roads. Look for Nairobi videos - there are many - show me untarred road - less than 10 percent if you exclude Nairobi National Park . I can help you with Nairobi borders.
