The beauty of beautifully planned and developed communities

Ghana domestic bond market restructuring has led to these good dividends. And explosion in monies available to institutional investors to the tune of 30 billion dollars for channeling into these various investment vehicles on the real estate sector.

probably the tea production are controlled by the non Kenyans , so there is adequate supply of modern technology to maintain their business .

This people aren't kenyans, they are Indians with cash .
If there's any kind of serious drought, water production will be seriously affected and tea leaf will dry up on the farm.

Kenya is just lazy to produce food for it self

the drought in Kenya is disastrous. Not to be mocked.

This is a drought that's projected to leave about 10% of population hungry.

Don't let these kenyans make u think all is fine over there.
Drought and yet tea production is not affected?

Anyone intelligent like this guy knew you were going bankrupt. Now you're still delusional. Investor will take years to forget and forgive - 50% haircut - is 15B dollars. If Ghana gov is able to borrow - it will be very short term loan (treasury bills) with very expensive interest rate - only few risk takers will taker it.

Bright Simons
@BBSimons
In 2021 Kenya will spend ~15% of govt income servicing debt. Ghana will spend ~45%. Kenya went for an IMF loan of $2.4bn to be disbursed over 3 yrs at a ~2% interest rate. Ghana just borrowed $3bn at an avg rate of 8%+. 200,000 Kenyans are protesting. Ghana is celebrating. 🤷🏽‍♂️
Ghana needed money to invest in high yielding portfolio and IMF money wasn't going to cut it.

Only poor countries like Kenya misinterpret their needs

Ghana start repaying loan in 2026 or 2027....you will get market access next decade.

The terms of the new bonds include provision that upon maturity, the principal will be settled in instalments (2 instalments for the 2027 & 2029 bonds; 3 instalments for the 2023 bond & 5 instalments for the 2037 bond)
Ghana is already repaying loans as it creditors have confirmed .... Market access will be restored next year.

Ghana is too good a market to investors and they are rushing to have the opportunity to in a country that import 12 billion dollars worth of services and export 9 billion dollars worth of services.

They will rush back smiley and throw away their money.

Even a mad man like you will not lend to Ghana gov soon.

Ghana gov is locked out for 15yrs min from both domestic and external market.

That is why defaulting is TERRIBLE
govt will be allowed into the market next year and the investors who have lost money will be happy to make those monies back ... People like Blackrock, grayhorn and Franklin Templeton will all be will to invest largely

Mkenya2019:
Nobody will be lending to Ghana is a LONG WHILE.

Ghana’s debt crisis is affecting companies beyond its borders.

South Africa’s four biggest banks (four of the continent’s five largest) plan to write off as much as $270 million of their investments in the West African nation’s bonds. That equates to a haircut of almost 60% in some cases.

Standard Chartered has set aside $160 million.

Firms in Nigeria and elsewhere will also have to take losses as the Ghanaian government works to restructure about $30 billion of its public debt. The costs to local lenders will only be known later.

They are just some of the losers from Ghana’s debt meltdown. S&P Global Ratings forecasts haircuts on foreign securities of as much as 50%.

The nation isn’t alone in Africa in facing a debt crunch — Zambia and Ethiopia are also in talks to revamp obligations. But the gold and oil producer’s fall from grace from one of the continent’s top investment destinations came as a shock.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2023-03-17/the-rippling-costs-of-ghana-s-overspending
Which is none of Ghana's problem ....

Ghana will gain market access in a years time and everyone will be willing to loan Ghana money be because it is way more profitable

Kenya can't afford to import food,
can't afford to import fuel
can't finance any infrastructure project,
dollars shortages and etc
It has to not borrow which means years of underdevelopment will continue for more years.

We are functioning country of course. Auditor general flagged the fines. Kenya and China differed on what debt relief meant. China insisted - we paid the fine - and continue to pay till now.

As late as this month - we just paid china 500M dollars.

Why would we default - and mess our country for 15yrs like Ghana
The lunatic is at it again

You already have messed your country up and been in default for 5 years already and need another 15 years to bring issues under control... That's the major reason why you runned to the IMF.

Ghana can never go bankrupt like Kenya ... And that is why we can self finance major infrastructure projects and are doing more .
We may have strain and stretch our finances but will never go broke

How many doctors, engineers, lawyers and say accountant did you have at independence. Stop lying to yourself. Many african countries were not ready for independence. That is why longer it was delayed the better the prospect. Like South Africa.

We got independence way too early. Most african countries had zero african doctors or engineers at independence. In kenya if you had a diploma - they would even make you a minister.

We should have been rational. Yes give us independence. But also send us engineers and doctors or architect of a modern economy.

Ghana of course got bunch of idiots - they crushed the economy - by 1962 - cant pay army salaries - army send them away - and huge mess starts.

Go to South Sudan now - see the mess - apart from diaspora folks - country is teeming with illeterates
More than enough to make Ghana functional and even dash some to Kenya, Gabon, Gambia and etc.

You forgetting we had to leap frog your development by giving you experts.

Even with that firm foundation, you still became stupid and dumb hence the bankruptcy

Watch this video - know kenya is drought prone zone - has no minerals - and yet it has done this - from well run cooperatives of farmers.

For them to be able to carry out all the development projects they are taking on for farmers, they need to borrow on their own balance sheet.

Their inflows is enough to pay off their debt.
Finance expert are worried that they are taking on too much bold decision but after seeing first hand responses from their collection of data from farmers last year... They even need to do more and fast.

why are they build roads? Is Ghana gov that bankrupt? KTDA maintain access roads to tea buying center.

COCOBOD is bankrupt. Ghana is bankrupt.
They are building roads because they can afford it and make it easier to cart cocoa from the millions of farms in the hinterlands.

We don't need Ghana govt to sponsor it when a successful company has all the money needed to sponsor it for their benefits.

Ghana govt is focused on much bigger infrastructure projects than that.

I understand Kenya is bankrupt and your govt can't finance anything until 2036 when it managed to bring it debt repayment under control.

2 million broke farmers depending on a broke company - poor Ghana. No wonder everywhere I look I see poverty.

Take a look at well run KTDA - with 0.6M.

Let's not talk about KCC, KGGCU, name it

Kenya has many farmers cooperatives and company.

It's not Ghana where it's COCOA and nothing.
Millions of farmers who have enough money to send their kids abroad for further education when they get of age.

Good luck competing with that 🤣😂🤣

The only dream of a Kenyan is to be employed on a multinational farm and be paid 3 euros 🤣😂

With the price of tea that low KTDA can only afford gloves for them.

Combine all of them and they won't even be half the size of cocobod.

You will stupidly need to learn what bankruptcy mean .

If any country is bankrupt is definitely kenya . There is currently shortage of dollars in your country . No forex cash . You are damn broke .
