Shma2020: We were competing just fine till you brought up that hideous blurred image. I would like to see the real Accra in broad daylight. I want to show you how your city is so underdeveloped.
You can't expect me to keep posting The 6th most dynamic city in the world just because a dwarf wants to compete.. That would be downgrading Nairobi to its highest level.
Now go and trace kampala uganda and compete with them, that is your only peer in this game.
Zombie
you are not a competition for us because you are far below us in infrastructure.
Go find you level
The real Accra is in the videos I posted, go view it and see how beautifully it was made.
Let me when Kenya can finally catch up to Ghana in infrastructure development, then maybe your nairobi will be worth our while but for now, it ranks on the levels of Burkina Faso.
That is how far behind your capital city is. It is unworthy to even wipe Accra shoes.
Shma2020: stop shifting goal posts. The last time I checked on Accra aerial view was something despicable to kibera, it was super hideous outside the three standing highrises.
Apart from that tiny yellow-red-green tower, the rest of your city is utter underwhelming.
Stop blaming your underdevelopment On skyscrapers, we all know Accra is so poor to set up one complex skyscraper.
Beauty and Accra should now be the last thing to be said.
Zombie.
Deflection as usual
Your Nairobi is still far less developed compared to Accra after putting up 4 the small high rises because that is no what development is about.
The last time I checked, the whole of Nairobi was comparable to Kibera hence why they call Nairobi the slum capital .
Even you kenyans know how undeveloped and dirty Nairobi is and that is why yall can only post pic from that tiny 2km area. That is shameful and telling
The money spent in Accra on development yearly is not just your 20km kind of tiny projects that get you all so happy to finally see something such that you roam the internet to blast it on.
Your nation is even poorer to attempt to develop Nairobi to catch up to Accra in infrastructure.
popizaino: According to My friend Rvp he said it's a win win situation for Kenya has they would use the proceed from tea and flower to import food from Tanzania,Uganda and the rest and keep the remaining balance .
Maize, cassava, potatoes, sorghum, cowpea are low nutrient crops that shouldn't be grown on Kenya soil but flowers and teas.
tylann: Same debates over and over again I think it's time this thread should be closed Kenya vs Nigeria then Kenya vs Tanzania then Nigeria vs Ghana then Nigeria vs South Africa then Kenya vs Ghana and cycle repeats itself over and over again
Afraid that the platform will smear your shame all over you,already...
Shma2020: If you're celebrating 500km of rail that your country has then you're a lost old zombiepithecus. Ghana is not even on the list of 2012 rail line rankings by global railway union and that alone should speak volume about your irrelevant country.
Accra was planned far back in 1940s but still playing catch up game with Bujumbura. You should be ashamed of yourself shot man. .. I told you kisumu is the only city that can match that village Accra.
You kenyans are the ones celebrating that small 500km rail that you have
That is how mediocre you guys are such a village.
Our rail network today, still under construction is 1,500KM.
Accra is way too developed for your Nairobi to even catch up to in 10 years That is why your country is far behind Ghana on the development index.
Yes a good number of Nigerians are on solar power as it has become affordable.
ACs and fan do not create 300MW growth in electricity, real growth does.
WHen your country is not growing, that is when your electricity demand becomes as static as kenyan's
You dont have a manufacturing sector hence your 18 billion import, so shut up already.
rvp2018: Nigeria - the generator city. Ghana and Nigeria - you need a lot of electricity to just survive the heat - your need ACs in your homes or at least a fun. Do you know in Kenya we don't need AC - except in very few places - like remote north where nobody lives. Kenya sits mostly on highland/mountains - so it's very cold - despite being at the equator. Our power consumption in typical household is therefore for lighting.
As for manufacturing - in COMESA - after Egypt - it's Kenya.
Obviously we don't have minning industry like you or south africa - consuming power
We do light manufacturing - leading Africa in AGOA textile manufacturing for example.
rvp2018: 1) Kenya lead Africa in solar power installation at household level - this is not documented anyway - so it not captured. 2) Nearly every kenya industrial player produces their own power. Not captured 3) Nearly every large institution in kenya have their own power source. Not captured.
Lies upon lies
The country that leads Africa in individual solar power generation is Nigeria even though they dont document it.
Ghana individual solar power generators currently have an install capacity of 400MW and some of them sell their excess to the national grid.
Kenya does not have industries so shut up We all see that in your disgraceful trade data
Now you are making excuses for why your power consumption is so low
Most large institutions in Ghana have also switched to solar and that includes universities and research labs.
Yet our power consumption is still increasing at 300MW per year
Shma2020: you'll never convince this zombie with anything. a zombie who can confidentiality say village Accra with two highrises, few interchanges and nearly zero rail services is ahead of Nairobi is just a classical case of fantasy dwellers.
see another dumb villager from the nation of many villages
get an education kiddo
our current rail service is even longer than your small 500km rail that you celebrate
rvp2018: Please midget...I just gave you a report from your own energy regulator - the latest for 2020 - regarding 2019 - I am sure 2020 is bad - for everyone. The nonsense you are spewing are waste of your time.
As of 2019 - peak demand was 2,300MW.
Installed capacity is nothing - most of thermal plants - from your own regulator report - are idle - mostly for lack of fuel or gas.
You keep making noise but this is our 2019 peak demand below in the chart 2,800MW
see the 300mw growth per year and realize how stagnant your country kenya is
All thermal plant are producing at capacity
check the chart below
Its a disgrace for Kenya to only half the consumption of electricity that Ghana has
rvp2018: More reading - I discovered your thermal power is mostly dysfunctional - due to lack of gas/fuel (can't afford to pay Nigeria?) - and so even smelting has to be constrained by power. It appears the real power is mostly hydro. So your installed capacity is just good for the books - but in reality - you're still relying on Kwame Nkurumahs 1960 volta akosombo dam
your lies dont even surprised me any more
It is pure stupidity.
We have more than enough gas on our hand such that all our thermal plants are producing at full capacity.
Our FRU will land very soon and shell will be supplying us Additional one million tonnes of LNG for new Thermal plants that will come on stream this year and next year.
The single largest FRU in sub saharan Africa.
We've finished our gas pipeline from the west to the east to supply all existing thermal plants in the eastern enclave.
Akosombo dam is the least depended on power generator today, Bui dam is even more dependable than Akosombo.
It's not our fault that Kenya hasn't seen any real growth A paltry 1900mw electricity consumption of kenya is stagnation
rvp2018: Installed capacity versus real consumption - huge mismatch in Ghana - real consumption is not even 2,500MW - while installed capacity is twice that. Most of your thermal plants - are idle - expensive misadventure. Kenya we have very little thermals plants - and are now almost on renewable clean energy.
Guy you are living in the past
Ghana generation capacity is 5,200 megawatts Dependable generation capacity is 4,800MW because machines dont run at 100% efficiency.
Current peak demand is 3,400MW and will grow by an additional 300MW to 500MW this year, bringing peak demand to 3,700 or 3,900MW.
It takes a vision to anticipate the growth in your demand and provide the necessary infrastructure to meet those challenges ahead of time.
Kenya is stagnant hence why your electricity demand remains as small as that of Togo or Ivory Coast.
