here with the introduction of improved seedlings subsistence farmers have been able to move themselves out of poverty by a large extent.
And have even gone ahead to increase the size of their farms and mechanised.
The goal is to give the person a purpose.
The major problems with farmin has been post-harvest losses
Lionessza6: By ending poverty you mean they have food to eat(most villagers in SA also don't lack food, they produce a lot of what they consume), or they are also making a living out of this practice ? I would love to hear more on this, you can recommend articles and all.
rvp20182: This thread is about competition and secondly Kenya gov has also shown interest.

Lionessza6: Has subsistance farming reduced poverty in other parts of the world & Africa in particular? I'm genuinely asking ,you can give examples if you can .
Btw,most villagers in SA have always lived on their produce like the rest of the continent. I live in a village in the Easterm Cape province ,the poorest province in the country & mostfamilies here own fields ,but the issue us that we mostly have grazing land. & mind you this is the 2nd biggest province in landmass but most of the arable land is still under colonisers. Not to mention that water is still " colonised " as well . People were pushed to this side of the capes because it is one of the most difficult places to "get water". Most of the natural dams are privately owned ,this is also a huge problem nationally btw. These are some of the reasons causing the migration to the major cities where people go and work in farms . Zuma prioritised rural development and in many places surrounded by the ocean people were returning to take advantage of the oceans economy ,but that has since been stopped because now you need a fishing boat worth a million rands as a requirement to start working the ocean and we all can guess what this means for the villagers ... . So the land issue in SA is not only about the soil my guy , so much shyt is entangled in this . But one thing is for sure ,we are heading the Zim way ( whatever that means ) and if it goes bad Congo will look like paradise because i don't see anyone that will back down from this , everyone has a lot at stake. Not to mention that all sides have been infiltrated or are being " assisted " by outsiders who need something in SA . Only foolish people talk of apartheid in past tense, when we are yet to gain economic liberation from our masters .

New prototypes for local manufacturing of VENTILATORS
jln115: Simply seizing land from whites is an absolutely horrible idea.........Zimbabwe is a great example.
Also although I strongly oppose expropriation without compensation as it grossly violates property rights, but if you read the bill then you would know government land is going to be the first to expropriated, then idle Land, no productive land will be touched...........the bill also includes land owned by Black tribal leaders hence why the Zulu King has partnered with Afriforum to fight the Bill.
Also the Bill only stipulates that land will be expropriated as a last resort.....willing buyer willing seller are still the main means of land redistribution.
I think it is a good thing because at least, some poor people will get a small piece of land to do subsistance farming on and reduce poverty.
Zimbabwe is what it is because economic activities have been sanctioned badly
obaaderemi: Don't be taken for a ride, brother. That ape is blacker than you. From his frustrated rants you will know he is a black kaffir. During apartheid such people were called impipi.
