if i ask you for evidence of your karikashor report, you will foolishly quote one blogs there. Get a life, you are talking to west africa citizens , we scrutinized information here before digesting it. any road side economics report is taken on peril.... lets check out statistics we can do it here.... show me emperical evidence of your report , and I will easily hands down . Ghana has more than one capital market and therefore using single capital market to judge Ghana is influenced by stupidity. you actually don't know.

2 I have met a kenya dude , he is paying huge cash schooling in ashesi university in Ghana. we even still communicate on Facebook once in a while. but I have meet many more Ethiopians than you lots and I have never meet a Tanzania

3... I have correct you , student schooling aborad from west Africa is based on prestige and not because we don't get good school . you can't afford doing that. check online report you are way behind Ghana.....you can't just try it where is the money?
dont mind him

I thought he said
number of students schooling in better schools shows how rich a society is

This is not academic journal. This is forum where prima-facia evidence is enough to pass. Evidence is Ghana re-based twice in 10yrs. The first saw a GDP jump of 60% and the last curious one saw 25%. Tanzania also did the same. The last one saw 3% jump. They were also equally desperate.
you mean Ghana rebase twice in 13 years

i will say that is fair especially when a huge part of your economy you can currently capture was not captured.

Have you asked yourself why the economy jumped by 25%.

Evidence....simple...of Ghana cement production and consumption...is not rocket science. You're beginning to sound like Nigerians. Getting facts out is like pulling teeths.
Since you dont want to read

i will highlight the important part for you on the 2018 consumption level

Cement manufacturing companies in Ghana are appealing to government to quickly implement a policy which will ensure that all roads in the country are made of concrete.

According to them this will help consume the surplus cement in the country as well as sustain their operations.

Figures available from the cement monitoring committee show that Ghana consumes about 8 million metric tons of cement annually.

This consumption level is less than the production estimated at 12 million metric tons.

Speaking to Citi Business News on the matter, a member of the Cement Monitoring Committee, Mr. Sammy Amegayibor said President Akufo Addo who had earlier made mention of such a policy, should ensure that it is put into force to sustain the country’s cement industry.

“The total installed capacity will come to about twelve million metric tonnes, this is more than what Ghana needs for the cement industry. I mean there will have to be a way to export some of the products if all of them want to sustain business, I remember the President himself in one of his addresses to the public said that one of the policies that government will bring up to consume the surplus cement was to ensure roads projects are done using a lot of cement material”.

Mr Amegayibor stressed that should government see to the implementation of such a policy the cement industry will continue to grow, “If we live by it, that will be the best way to ensure that the cement industry is sustained”.

He added, “I mean after all, this industry creates jobs for several hundred thousands of people and so if they want to sustain business and continue to produce then there has to be a deliberate policy attempt to consume the cement that is produced”.

Just30,

Ghana aggressively re-based as it was put into IMF 'emergency' room after getting into debt spiral & currency devaluation.

For the second time in less than 10 years Ghana’s GDP has seen a huge increase as a result of a change in the base year used in the calculation.
https://www.ceditalk.com/2018/10/ghanas-rebased-gdp-explained/

In 2010, the base year used for Ghana’s GDP calculation was changed from 1993 to 2006. The country’s GDP jumped by 60% and the services sector was recognized as the largest contributor to GDP, replacing Agriculture. The recent change of the base year from 2006 to 2013 has resulted in a 24.6% jump in GDP to GH¢256 billion.
hope you note the reasons why the economy had to be rebased.

it may be rebased soon as the government is busy roping in more part of the informal economy

Population didn't decline. 52M was projected by some folks. Our pop increased from 38M to 47.5m in 10yrs. The annual growth declined from 2.9% to 2.2% because we are aggressively implementing family planning.

You per capita jumped because you recently re-based - growing your per-capita by 25%.

When we re-base too in 2022 - we might get another 25% jump - and surpass Ghana.
by 2022 do you know what the per capita of Ghana will be?

Check again. I am not sure what pressure was - maybe to get out debt/gdp problems with IMF? You re-based as recently as 2018 - leading to 25% GDP jump.

Ghana had to rebase because a greater part of the economy was not captured in the previous rebasing

Not true - you're doing 17-18% like Kenya - that is about the average for the level of you underdevelopment. South Africa being a middle class do 25%. Scandinavian countries taxes to their bones - do around 50% - and that the highest.

What is % contribution of extraction sector to that tax revenues.

That will help determine if you're another Nigeria or not that depend 90-95% on Oil.
you are not making sense

so the extractive sectors are no more part of the economy?
The extractive sectors

the largest tax paying sector is the telecommunication sector in Ghana.

Ghana's 2019 ratio has grown from 18.3% to 20% whiles Kenya has improve from 15% to 18.1%.

What make you think a few yahoo boys in Ghana have more money than informal sector say in kenya - a kenya that is corruption & drug haven. Let me tell you a typical traffic police in Kenya - has millions of Kshs - in black economy. My cousin is a cop - his daily target is 200 dollars - he is just a police constable.Kenya black economy is huge but hardly something to be proud about. The average kenyan pays 45 bribes annually - but country remain a thriving swarm of corrupt - so much Ghana vision 2030 is to be like Nairobi in 2010.
an informal economy is not the same as a black economy

a black economy is an illegal economy.

And you do that mostly from oil & minning industry. I don't think you understand Kenya economy. If Nigeria - is sweating - poor Ghana will not even attempt to compete with Kenya.

Projected tax revenues for this year - ordinary taxes will be 16-18B dollars. That is twice what Ghana will collect. And we don't have any oil or gold or alumiminum.Non-ordinary taxes will be 4B dollars!

Our budget is 30B dollars - we spend about 5B dollars in education. Your free school and double track is not even worth half a billion dollar smiley

Kenya is not Ghana mate. You're too small a potato. Nigeria is already down and out.
Ghana's 2019 budget plus supplementary budget adds up to 180 billion dollars for 2019

Ghana spends 3 billion dollars on health and 2.5 billion dollars on education.

Comparing Kenya to Ghana is laughable

You keep jumping. 10M metric I haven't seen. The website you gave me quote a cement industry lobbyist talking about 8M. It easy - your Ghanian Stat office surely have such data. In the meanitme I am going for Dangote quote figures - 6M metric tonnes with per capita consumption of 230 or about kgs.
The person my publication quoted was not a lobbyist but the regulatory authority.

You can't seem to accept is because it will exposed your underdevelopment
grin grin grin grin
Dont worry, Ghana is still building it cement factories to produce more cement for consumption

even sales from GHACEM diamond and Cimaf alone is 8 million metric tonnes

Very slightly - I hope mining and oil is not distorting the wealth - because you know those sectors are not felt by the common Ghanian. Ask Nigerians.
Actually the mining sector may not be felt by the communities that those resources are mined in,
But their contribution helps the national economy which is felt by all Ghanaians.

so i can say that the mining sector is felt by all Ghanaians

All monies made from oil royalties do not form part of Ghana tax revenues since they are allocated to two different accounts as required by law.

Every Africa country has huge informal economy. It's hard to measure and therefore we don't have to sweat it. Kenya GDP per capita as of this year will be around 99/47m roughly 2000usd. And Ghana have been aggresively rebasing - every 5yrs - which is strange considering you don't do census or large scale household surveys that often - and so that mean your economic data is pretty-upto-date. Kenya we are on 10yr re-basing cycle - we should be do it soon.
Ghana does not rebase ever 5 years

You just invent words - financial stability is what? Let try stick to empirical evidence - not make-belief about some high income informal sector big boys living large in slums.

Here is your budget
https://www2.deloitte.com/gh/en/pages/tax/articles/ghana-2019-budget-commentary-tax-highlights.html

Revenues around 57 billion Ghana Cedis which translated 10B dollars. Kenya does about twice that.

You capital expenditure is 11-12%(development budget) - your debt servicing is around 24-25%.
Ghana is doing 20% tax to GDP
which is still an underperformance by our standard

In west africa, the guys in informal sector are the big boys. they are smart and professional. that is why it is stupid to used minimum wage to judge the standard of living in both Ghana and Nigeria. Dangote does not and that is why he is sceptical on continuing his factory after realising that the market is currently oversupplied.

He played his role when the market had s short fall of 1 million metric tonnes and specials licenses where given to people to import cement
