well....whatever..but know one thing...we nigerians are very smart thinking souls...
people in the world shiver when they hear the word nigeria....
even ghanaians try to hide their identity and say they are nigerians when they are abroad.. smart thinking souls, I don't dispute that. People shiver, lie. Ghanaians hiding their identity , lie. Ghanaians are mostly proud to tell you they are Ghanaians |

Rossikk: You really should worry about your own country, Ghana. Don't you have enough problems sourcing money to pay your debts for Nigerian gas etc?
As for Nigeria, oil is only a small part of the economy.
''The petroleum industry in Nigeria is the largest on the African continent. As of 2014, Nigeria's petroleum industry contributes about 14% to its economy. Therefore, though the petroleum sector is important, it remains in fact a small part of the country's overall diversified economy.''

Rossikk: Do you actually understand how economies operate? The only other way the govt could increase its revenues is by increasing taxes on people and firms, and they are not about to do that. The private sector takes care of production in general, and export receipts go into the coffers of private sector operators, not government. You also overestimate the importance of govt revenue as opposed to national income, which GDP represents. you definitely under recognize the importance of government revenue. Why is your government thinking of borrowing 30 billion dollars to come and pay government workers who have not been paid for 7 months as well as use some to invest in social infrastructure? Do you know why your currency is even suffering? Government can increase it revenue by making sure that the remaining 80 something percent contributor to GDP pay taxes |

Rossikk: THANKS FOR SHOWING US YOU'RE A LIAR POSTING FALSIFIED STATISTICS. why don't you do yourself some favour, by finding them yourself to see how well your country is doing. I'm not here to educate you on your own country. I taught you were interested and much more invested in your own country social discussion. You are as gullible and lazy as many Nigerians who would hardly find time to read . You guys make it seems true that if you want to hide anything from an African, hide it in w book. ''Intermittent power cuts in various parts of [Accra] have caused agitation, with several consumers venting their frustrations at the power distribution company and accusing it of introducing by stealth the long hours of power outage (dumsor), which was a common occurrence when the country endured a four-year power crisis.''

Rossikk: No it isn't true. That is foreign exchange income. Nigeria's annual GDP is $529 billion, with oil industry receipts accounting for just 14% of that figure. Additionally, ''govt income'' is not the determinant of how well a country is doing. National income is, ie the money accruing to the generality of the population. For that, Nigeria's income per capita is just over $3,000 or approximately $7,000 at PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) Ten years ago it was $300!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Nigeria you are simply too dull to grasp what I just said, 80% of your government revenue comes from oil, companies, individual businesses and taxes accruing from other sources only account for 20% of government revenue. Now how diversified is your economy? No you see why your government is suffering to raise enough money to pay government workers, and carry out developmental works? |

Joonana: well, the opposition party is doing its job to secure power. i see it to be good for democracy and the development of Ghana - a strong opposition serves as a check on the incumbent government. It's up to Ghanaians to make the choice of going with the incumbent government or the opposition party. I guess Nigerians don't know what democracy means, especially when it's an election year. You hit the government, where it would hurt the most |

Rossikk: You are totally ignorant. Nigeria produces thousands of products, from vehicles to paint, from chemicals to machineries. There are factories dotted all over the country. They are not there for decoration. Have you ever entered a Nigerian factory in your life? I very much doubt it. Your problem is that you are so full of inferiority complex, ignorance and laziness, that common research is beyond your ability or inclination. Far easier to peddle idiotic, beer-parlour nonsense about ''toothpicks''. Shameless man. If Nigeria ''imports toothpicks'', does that not mean an opportunity is open for you to produce locally? What are you doing sitting on your backside? You expect the govt to build toothpick factory for you? Is that the government's job? isn't it true that 80% of your government revenue comes from oil ? |

Joonana: Cedi dollar rate was about 1:1 in 2008. So it took roughly 8years to depreciate to the current 3.9.... in spite of the depreciation, economic progress and a number of social interventions have helped lift majority of Ghanaians out of poverty. Just last week, Senegal sent a delegation to study the National Health Insurance Scheme in Ghana. Nigerians have things to learn from Ghana. Even with power, you find this type of onion light bulbs in use. These bulbs were banned in Ghana some years back because they are not energy efficient. Today all households in Ghana use energy saving bulbs. On the other hand, you find these bulbs in use in Nigeria - a country whose electricity supply is woefully inadequate.
Ghana is still a work in progress - a number of good policies are in place to keep the country on a path to sustainable development. Can we say same for Nigeria? I Just can't think far anymore |

But u know population matters Sha even if true.. ...like I said, if Ghana inputs their resources on Port Harcourt alone, they will crumble and rumble. so now you know that despite the huge resources your country have at hand , you've still not been able to eject positive progress to mitigate the negative effects on the larger part of your citizens. How would Nigeria do it, now that px of oil is down ? |

LoveDecay: That exactly why both of you are dumb because you are concentrating on the depreciation of the Nigerian naira to Ghana cedis.
The Nigerian Naira has never been redenominated. Ghana redenominated in 2012, where 10,000 cedis = 1 Ghana Cedis.
The change the value of the notes not the value of the economy. Its like Nigeria saying , 1 naira is now equivalent to 100 Naira . We simply changed the "unit" of measurement. That's why I not only compared GDP but GDP per capita
Do you know what GDP per capita is ?
Like I said, your both dumb and don't know shayt. How many of your people have slide back into poverty because of an overnight depreciation ? when Ghana's cedi was depreciating, wages was actually going up. can you say same? yet again, i wont leave Ghana to live in any other country |

jieta: somebody should pls confirm this. True that it took 5 years for the Ghanaian Cedi to hit 3.9 cedis to a Dollar and has stayed so for almost a year now. The Naira useed to be 50 Naira to a Cedi but now it's around 76 Naira to a cedi and quickly hitting 80 Naira to a Cedi |
