Mkenya2019: Nobody has ever heard of Ghana in anything outside Cocoa...which Ivory Coast beat your senseless. Tell us the drought resistant clone you ever breeded.
In kenya - we have maize clone like Katumani - breeded in Katumani - fast maturing drough resistant.
Your Kitumani is a clone of the original version made in Ghana like the rust-resistant, drought-resistant, streak virus resistant Obantanpa seeds.
Ghana developed 27 varieties of maize that are heavily grown in Africa ..some of which are cloned in Kenya listed below
Pan 53(white maize) popularly known as Sika Aburo Pan 12 registered name as Nkunim Kparifaako Aseda, Opeaburoo, Tintim, Owanwa, Odomfo and Honampa. Aseda, Opeaburoo and Tintim are also known to be drought resistant whilst Owanwa, Odomfo and Honampa contains relatively higher levels of pro-vitamin A
Mkenya2019: The usual madness. Ghana and Agriculture. You dont even feature outside Cocoa. South Africa, Zim (before) and Kenya have world class agricluture because of colonial heritage.
What is CSIR Ghana crap.
I started working at Uni for ILRI -International Livestock Research Institute - and it's HQ is in Nairobi.
We have KARI - Kenya for agri research - and it's one of the best.
We created our own heritage and bested your colonial Agric heritage
The resistant maize seeds dominantly planted in your country was modified in Ghana by our scientists
IF YOU JOKE, WE WILL REVOKE YOUR COUNTRY ACCESS TO IT
you still wont learn that you are not at Ghana's level in Agriculture and neither are you at Nigeria's level..
The very resistant seeds you are bragging about were invented at CSIR in Ghana...And the technology distributed to the rest of Africa.. We can stop your country from using our patent to produce seeds
Mkenya2019: Show me a seed company like Kenya Seeds in Ghana or Tanzania or Nigeria. NOTHING. Rudimentary agricluture.
SUFFERInSMILIIN: if they were 600 pineapple farmers in Ghana and Ghana export 31 million US dollar of pineapples that is about more than 50,000 US dollar per farmer of pineapple money. I must stop planting what I plant in Brazil and start planting pineapple maybe my lock will change
obaaderemi: Gbam! The bolded sums up Little India's pathetic situation. Mind you, the tea and flower farms are mainly owned by Europeans in Kenya. Yet the flower farms flush their pesticide and herbicide wastes into village rivers to poison ordinary Kenyans. They also pay the Kenyans slave wages. Yet, you see donkeys come here to hype the same schemes that enslave them.
In case you've not noticed, Kenya is the poster child for neo- colonialism in Africa.
When you get to Europe and middle East, you will see several Ghanaian fruits and juices
Mkenya2019: Everyone as seen Egyptian Oranges or Citrus fruits - nobody has seen Ghana. So you produce a lot and cannot export the excess - then something is wrong with your country.
Look at Kenya Mango production - that has risen rapidly - and we are exporting rapidly. So are Avacados and many other fruits.
According to data from HCD, Kenya is the fourth largest producer of mangoes in Africa, with a 1.8 per cent global production share of 0.9 million tonnes. Mango is the second-highest exported fruit in Kenya, contributing to 10.80 per cent of total fruit export.
Like I said, Kenya is not a match for Ghana in Agriculture
Our Agric export alone is your country total export......
Let me know when Kenya Agric export reach about 6 billion dollars, then we will talk
Mkenya2019: Production look legit - about 750K - but export is almost zero...Why dont your export? even as fruit concentrates
Ghana oranges export values In 2019, Ghana exported oranges valued at 0.32m USD, a drop of -50.23% from 2018's total oranges export of 0.643m USD. The annual reduction in value of Ghana oranges between 2017 to 2018 was 40.393 pc.
Mkenya2019: No there is just one big pineapple farm of 1,000 acres That is very tiny - i think they have planted 100 acres or so
What to see pine-apples - here is Delmonte Farm and Factory in Kenya - export fruits and juices all over East Africa.
Cirio Del Monte Kenya owns a 10,000-acre (40 km²) pineapple plantation and employs approximately 6,000 workers (2006 estimate). Approximately 60% of the workforce is female (2004 estimate). The company employs three types of employees: permanent staff, seasonal workers and casual laborers.
Ghana export almost 500,000 metric tonnes of Pineapples while domestic consumption is around 250,000 metric tonnes with over 60,000 acres of land under cultivation.
compete with that
Ghana Mango plantations Over 700,000 metric tonnes of mango is produced with 250,000 metric tonnes export.
Mkenya2019: Kenya export about 300 different types of agricultural products. We have strong farming foundation set by British settlers - Kenya, Zim and South Africa - had that base - however South Africa and Zim - the blacks farmers have not learnt anything - while in Kenya we have robust black driven farming.
As for food and starving - they are not related. Food insecurity is not lack of food - it's lack of money by starving people. Food insecurity is defined as the disruption of food intake or eating patterns because of lack of money and other resources.
Kenya has a very successfully agricluture... example Tea. In 1960s...we were at bottom...and have now climbed to the top...and India of all places are feeling the heat.
India imposes restrictions on Kenyan tea to protect its farmershttps://www.businessdailyafrica.com › ... › Commodities 26 Nov 2021 — The Tea Board of India issued circulars to tea stockists on reporting about the quantity and quality of imports from Kenya to rein in shipments.
Unlike poor Ghana exporting raw beans...Kenya has 150 tea manufacturing companies.
World largest tea auction is in Kenya - Mombasa - and global tea prize is set in kenya.
Waa look at this nonsense
Please in Agriculture, your country does not come close to Ghana...
Just shut up and deal with your hunger .....
Ghana export over 600 agric products doing almost 6 million dollars
Mkenya2019: Kenya Maize farming is very advanced - secondly only to South Africa. We plant hybrid maize and there is heavy mechanization. The same for Wheat and Barley.
Tanzania, Ghana and Nigeria hoe-powered agricluture has a long way to go
SUFFERInSMILIIN: This useless people I came across them in the northern part they are very useless I think open grazing must be totally banned in Ghana. Which number country have you seen where people roll up and down with their cows
Wizzzzmike: My guy u get tym give these Kenyans oo... Kenya is only country in the world that they queue to buy alcohol lol. Ask them bars are not open till 10am in the morning and close around 8 or 9pm, their alcohol abusers never take them serious bro.
Mkenya2019: Food insecurity is not LACK OF FOOD. It's lack of income. In kenya biggest maize farms is in Kitale - very near to Turkana. In Kenya there has never been times when there was not enough food...it just that drought stricken regions...do not have the money to buy food...because their source of income...cows and sheeps have died in thousands.
what will you use the income for when there's no food to buy?
You guys will never learn sense, just like North Korea
