gallivant: Are you even listening to yourself? Is beans and maize high value crops? You think people farm to satisfy Europeans, why do you grow cocoa? Get to a mental facility asap!
as long as they are your staple food, they are high value crops to you ...
Having them will prevent your yearly hunger crisis.
Yes Kenyans farm to satisfy Europeans while Kenya go hungry ....
We grow cocoa because the fruit gives us good drinks and liquor and the back gives us soap.
Learn sense and your country will never grow hungry
Mkenya2019: We grow tea in my village - almost exclusively - now some avacados and keep dairy - and we never lack money to buy cheap maize, rice and others.
When you transition from farming as source of food - to farming as agri-business - then you will grow stuff you will never consume because it pays very highly.
Maize farmer in Tanzania is hopeless compared to Tea or Cocoa farmer.
Imagine that
Learn how to feed yourself first before wasting your precious resources growing things to feed others..
When you do that, your country won't go hungry yearly...
Only Fools waste their means of production growing things they will never need
gallivant: Listen dumb dumb, it's called trade. We buy their maize and beans and everything manufactured in East Africa they buy from us. From shoe polish to mattresses. I know you wouldn't understand because your country only trades in oil and illegally mined gold. The concept of trade is alien to bonobos hence the 16 IMF bailouts every time the price of oil and gold drops.
Do why has your country got nothing to offer it own people let alone have something to trade?
Mkenya2019: We dont waste our precious little land growing maize and beans - our farmers are transitioning into high intensive high value crops - and we are leaving useless crops to Tanzania and Uganda.
and yet maize and beans are your country staples
Make that make sense.... You waste all your lands growing tea and flowers that keeps your nation hungry yearly just to satisfy Europeans.
Mkenya2019: That video had nothing to do with agricluture...it was comparing Accra and Nairobi. I rather listen to a real Ghanian farmer. Kenya economy is 110B compared to 75B in Ghana - with all gold, oil, aluminimu and name it.
It's funny when little Ghana who only do Cocoa farming think they do agricluture.
Start with Dairy - Africa largest - Kenya - highest milk consumption - Kenya.
If you knew what GDP was, you won't be mentioning minerals...
Despite all Kenya minerals, your agriculture is still basic. Even irrigation is rocket science to your country..
Ghana PPP is 280 billion dollars while that of Kenya is 225 Billion dollars
Ghana GDP per cap is 2400 dollars while that of Kenya is now 1900 dollars..
Ghana Agriculture export is almost twice your country total export , that makes your country look like a joke.
Even our fruit and vegetables export alone is almost worth your country entire export... Shut up and lose the unnecessary lust of comparing Kenya with Ghana.
Mkenya2019: Of course that is why you cannot compare our agriculture with many in Africa. Ghana traditional hoe-powered agricluture is like 100 yrs behind kenya.
Ask this budding Ghanian farmer - just how far ahead we are in farming
Mkenya2019: Who is making excuse? Kenya despite being 89 percent semi arid and arid with persistent drought as it battle sahara desertification; without any minerals; is doing great; our gdp is now clipping Morocco - and soon will be Africa 5th best - and is already Sub Sahara 3rd best. In any ranking out there...it now South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya at the top of Sub Sahara.
Kenya is doing incredibly well. When it come to drought and related....we have one Africa largest social safety nets...sending money to drought victims...orpahs and disable...so much Tanzania disabled people have invaded Kenya.
Obviously you think Kenya can defeat drought and huge natural forces of behind it - that is just naivety. Kenya best bet is to transition from agrarian economy into modern non-agri economy.
89% arid does not mean anything in this age of Agriculture modernisation...
Mkenya2019: Lame excuse - war ended in 70s - famine in 75 - dude kenya has drought almost every 2-3yrs. The problem is ingrained communism ideals that still persist to date.
it's almost 2022 and you are still making this excuse for why Kenya goes hungry every year?
vankelvin: They really went too far.. They were telling Lies everywhere.
How can you say you did 9 hours journey from Accra to Cape Coast? Did they go through Kumasi then back to Cape Coast ?
Another thing was they claim the road was bad? like how? the only bad thing about that stretch of road will be perhaps the traffic situation in Kasoa and sometimes at Winneba round-about and Mankesim round-about but even that they went with a police escort so there's no way they will spend over 3 Hours on the way.
The Bafana Bafana team even reached Cape Coast before Black Stars so why complain?
The road is not bad but the new speed ramps are terrible
I stopped supporting our National Team ryd after the Brazil World cup... In recent times I do support any team they play against but what these South Africans did these past days was very very annoying.
Sake of this ordinary football they decided to disrespect an entire nation, key among them was their SAFA President, like how?..
I careless about Black Stars but for Bafana Bafana!! I will give my 10% support to the Black Stars (still keep the 90% in my pocket)..
