Give me examples of what you speak about. What policies are coming from Ghana?
West African Gas pipeline, cross border trade, cross border movement and even the common currency drive

How do they always stick to Ghana?
You should check how they vote in ECOWAS and you'll understand.

You should also find out why they still have hopes of being one country with Ghana and why Gambia has modelled it judiciary and jurisdiction after Ghana's

Countries seek for interventions all the time. Even Benin Republic once sort for Rwanda's intervention on their national security.
if that's how you seek to devalue the conversation.

Have you ever asked yourself why countries like Gambia and Guinea Bissau will always stick to Ghana?

This Ghanaian influence and soft power you speak so orgasmically about is news to my ears but I'll likely stop here.
Definitely it will be news to your ears but if you read wide, you'll find out.

Why do you think most of the policy directions and the cross border development on the economic front has always come from Ghana?

Give present day examples of this. Not example of 1960.
I'm even speaking in the present dispensation.

Why do you think Mali and Burkina Faso sort for Rawlings personal intervention.

He is looking into the population i guess . Ghana is quite small but it has influence africa politics from independence.
That's what a lot of them don't know.

What then is this Ghanaian brand? That's what I'm asking.
A fellow Nigerian from your clan once describe it to you in the previous forum.

He ones told you how the Ghanaians he met in school from Japan to Korea and Germany were treated superbly different from all other Africans and kept wondering how Ghana managed to archive such soft power.

There's a reason why Rawlings was worshipped across west Africa as a bad influence by all military leaders across the subregion. Just like how our political movement during pre-independence modelled so many others across the sub region. That's the same way our democratic dispensation has influenced a lot strong shift in the political dispensation of the sub region through policies intervention and our effective civil society. I can go on to name countries and how Ghana intervenes

That's cool but that doesn't signify much in terms of influence/relevance in Africa.
Ethiopia is home to the AU and was never colonised but how relevant is Ethiopia in Africa? Even in East Africa, many would consider Kenya more influential than Ethiopia.

Influence is mostly about Economy, Military, and spread of your culture.

Ghana is doing well but she is not even the most influential in English speaking West Africa. Ivorycoast is the most influential French speaking West African country and Nigeria is still the most influential English speaking West African country.

Kenya is the most influential East African Country just like South Africa in Southern Africa. Egypt is the top dog in North Africa.

Economic ranking, Military ranking, and Cultural spread in that order are the three topmost metrics to guage influence/relevance here.
Influence is also about politics, diplomacy and policies

Your understanding of influence is infantile

This guy is obviously trolling... ghana influence nigeria to accept lgbtq... lolz..West africa is nigeria's playground...north africa - egypt.. south - SA ... east - kenya... America has close relationship with ghana thats why they can go there to say their bullshit... they feel it will be easier to convince ghana then any other west african country
Not really as Ghana usually directs the path to which West Africa must take. Whether on the political front or diplomatic front

Even the economics front, Ghana play a larger role than Nigeria on policy direction.

Ghana was the hardest to target because the against block in this democratic process is so strong. But targeting Ghana gaves them the greatest advantage of spreading it across the entire sub region if they succeed because most West African countries take clues from Ghana and what happens here.

Political movement in Ivory Coast and Togo as well as Gambia and Senegal are usually groomed out of Ghana

Nah

Ghana has no influence even in west africa because that's Nigeria turf

Ghana was known for football so football is no longer it's strong point, it has nothing to stand on
Ghana has no influence yet it can pull enough countries from West Africa through it soft power?

Have you asked yourself why countries like Gambia, Liberia, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Benin and Togo as well as Nigeria itself will always follow Ghana path politically, diplomatically and economically?

The Ghanaian brand is very attractive... You should see Ghana leadership role in voting in ECOWAS and AU

Leave just40. He knows the truth
The truth is, Nigeria can actually legalize it without a lot of Nigerians knowing 😂

Civil society in Nigeria is mostly docile, the kinds of politicians and politics I've observed there, I don't think there are principle people.

That's why I presume it will be much more easier there despite religious sectarianism

Now that Tinubu has decided to wake up the sleeping giant - nobody will hear of Ghana again. Ghana despite being as irresponsible as Zambia is only relevant because Nigeria under Buhari went down. With Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan - Nigeria was in frontline. Little Ghana appeared sane man in west africa - as Ivory Coast also went into civil war.

Now Nigeria and Ivory coast are back. Ghana will revert to being a slave dungeon.

Buhari like Yardua should never have led Nigeria. Dangote has been leading.
As for you and the nonsense you type, sometimes I wonder if youve ever went to school.

Yes died with Kwame Nkurumah. People did notice Ghana under Jerry Rawling but generally they've been in shadows of Nigeria - only emerging when Nigeria is weak and dysfunctional. They are more like Ivory coast and senegal in west - relevant when Nigeria is in trouble.
You just don't know much

Ghana is always relevant even at Nigeria's strongest, it will still have to follow Ghana's political influence on the international stage

Ghana will influence Nigeria to accept Gay marriages?? I’ve heard a lot of dumb take …but this is competing for number one.

Go and research what happened across Africa when Jonathan prescribed Gays in Nigeria.
Sometimes some of you don't know or choose to forget Nigeria political history and political developments in West Africa.

Fortunately Ghana is not going to accept it but in a hypothetical situation where Ghana accept it, a whole lot of West African countries will accept it and Nigeria is included

Yes ... Ghana influence in this Africa

Ghana's political movement influenced political movement in West Africa, especially French West Africa.

Yes if Ghana accept it, a lot of West African countries will follow suit including Nigeria. Ghana has less engagement in Cameroon

Fortunately, Ghana will not accept it

Kenya Grants are 42 B KES mainly - Global Fund.

Ksh 24.8 billion -Global Fund (HIV, Malaria, TB) - roughly 200M.

Ghana also receives it -Global Fund allocates $234m for Ghana to combat 3 diseases - which should higher than Kenya.
keep dreaming

All of global fund monies to Ghana since 2002 sums up at 800 million.. Ghana have an arrangement with the fund where by they make prepayments for drugs for the treatment of TB, HIV and Malaria and the Ghanaian govt pay the fund back fully.

It is not free money

Try harder ... You're struggling to prove that Ghana receives aid. 🤣😂

Like I told you before, all those things stopped immediately Ghana was declared a middle income country.

Ghana is not poor Kenya still taking 3 billion dollars yearly in aid like a baby.
No wonder the west have taken full control of your country

US AID

They deal with charity.
Fortunately it is not a money for Ghana but to a private company.

This is not USAID money or food to the Kenyan govt as charity else you guys starve and your country seize to function

Kenya received 3.1 billion in Aid in 2021. 😂🤣

Mkenya2019:
Nope - Ghana still receive a lot of Aid.

Kenya - the figure is not even 1 percent of the budget.

Total Revenue Kes 2.96T (18.26% of GDP) composed of:

-Ordinary Revenue Kes 2.57T (15.8% of GDP)
-AIA Kes 348.7B
-Grants KES 42.2B
So Kenya still receive budgetary support?
That's a lot of aid for Kenya to still be taking

Ghana does not receive any aid, whether budgetary support or NGO activities as a form of support in health or education.

Madman - Ghana receives a lot of Aid. Heck right now you're pleading with bilateral donors mostly in west for another round of debt forgiveness and rescheduling.
skeletal Lunatic

We've not had aid on our books since 2010. It stopped completely and what was good for us was, we had a tax expert as president.

Prof Mills completely designed our tax code to ensure that all our social intervention policy were completely funded from taxes.

Kenya must won herself off aid then we can talk.

Even if they tried it was never going to work

So they didn't bother Ghana and Uganda RECEIVES too aid from the US, English speaking.... France has own territories also
not really

Ghana does not receive aid from the west.

They are targeting Ghana because of it leadership role on the West African political scene and also because they current president is a lawyer who grew up in the west.

If they succeed in Ghana they will get Togo, Benin, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Liberia onboard. Maybe Senegal as well

To understand this influence of Ghana, you have to first understand how the political movement in west Africa started.
