If you count backwater filling stations - you will get higher number. Definitely kenya consume more fuel than Ghana. Last I checked Kenya was doing 6.5 billion litres..Ghana about 5 billion...despite using a lot of it to generate electricity.

I can only imagine what goes on in the Zoo where everyone runs a generator.
another excuse

Backwater stuffs are not permitted in Ghana so you won't find any... The fact that most of that 1800 stations in Kenya are backwater station show how underdeveloped your downstream sector is.

Also, please don't paddle numbers...

Ghana still consumes more fuel than your country of 60 million people

let me tell u what u don't know. If we decide to trade in dollar while adjusting our native currencies to match the dollar rate, there'll be problem of prices.

By the time u adjust ur tea price to the dollar to sell to Nigeria, for example, you'll find out that Nigerians might not buy ur tea cos it'll be more expensive than what we buy here, might even be costlier than importing from foreign countries.

U still don't have sense.

Lame excuse. If you dont like CEDIS you can always ask for dollars or gold. We have COMESA, EAC and others trading. You can change CEDIS to Kshs in airport of Ghana or Kenya as trade improves...in meantime we can take USD or gold. These are auxilary issues.
Does your country even have a gold reserve to trade with ?

I don't see it working sha.... But that's just my own opinion.

As for the currency, it's also very important because of the difference in exchange rate of African countries. If u sell ur tea to Ghana, what currency will u collect from Ghana? Cedis or KSh? Knowing fully well that there's exchange rate difference in the currencies.

Some countries will even cry over it, mark my word.
Simply put, Afcta needs a trading currency

Lemme clear the bs.

Kenya's agricultural land is 28m acres.
Kenya's total size is 143.975 million acres.

For us to improve the agricultural land size, we have to pump billions into irrigation schemes and dams.
Another lie

Kenya total irrigated land is 151,000 hectares

Ghana total irrigated land is 223,000 hectares

Add the 6% forest you see on your map if it won't be more than the 54% that I quoted which is the 2022 percentile.

Explain how. For what I know; ghana's debt service on external debt is at 2.5billion USD, Kenya is doing nearly 3B USD.

Lanes.

Also, our productive population will easily pay our debts. Government's new plan is to consume 65% of the taxes - that is 1.3trillion, serious business. That means the government funded projects(huge pr) will have to wait.

We need to hit below our debt ceiling before we can embark on serious business.

For now, all infrastructural developments will solely depend on private investors. And they are in a boom since the policy has been adjusted to favor them.
good you said for what you know.

Well, Ghana will still be developing while your country put a freeze on all development spending which will still not be enough

check debt servicing ratio..debt is repaid from taxes... Kenya ratio is not even at 40 percent.. Ghana is soon joining Nigeria at 100 per cent plus meaning being broke completely.Kenya problem is having to cut development or borrow to develop but we can meet our expenditures including debt repayment
great you ask for that ...

Ghana debt servicing to revenue stands at 48%
Kenya parliamentary report put Kenya's debt servicing to revenue at 63% while Bloomberg puts it at 74%.

Unfortunately you can't meet your expenditure hence your borrowing for your budget and to pay salaries.

86% =! 70%!!?

I mean, how is 86% equivalent to 70%?
Ghana has every means to repay it debt, Kenya does not.

Hence why your country took budgetary support IMF bailout last year and this year you have taken another IMF bailout to start repaying the Chinese loan despite several years of debt restructuring and freeze on debt repayment from china.

All countries at the moment have a debt problem. Egypt is also going to the IMF and South African debt to GDP is also around 80% ( very high).
My previous post was solely about IMF support in history over the years. My point is that Kenya has needed more support only second to Liberia. It matters little to me what type of support they needed.
The only real mistake Ghana made in the past few years in my opinion (in comparison to Kenya) is that they relied so much on Eurobonds the way Egypt, South Africa, and Nigeria did.
Egypt borrowed most from Eurobonds, South Africa second, Ghana third, and Nigeria 4th.
Ghana like the other three countries should have played with caution.
Kenya on the other hand also have a high debt to GDP close to 70% if I'm not mistaken.
The problem is not even with the debt but the fact that the govt has failed to sign various contract for production in various fields that will make the economy fluid

Dumb syndrome in display --- I'm not certain if this can be chronic glaucoma.

This is a Kenyan map. Take eyeglasses on my bills and help yourself. The map is even showing 20% arable land, not 30.

We need IMF more than you need it. We have climate issues. You don't.

30% of Kenya is like half of ghana.

As of 2022, I see you've just paid $8M, but your outstanding debt still intact at a whooping $1.3M.
so you also want to dispute the facts?

The Agricultural land is your arable land size as stated below.
Tell me if the figure you see is not more than the size of Ghana

Sometimes you're a nuisance. L*cking @ss at the same time spewing misguided information. IGNORANCE AT ITS CORE.
Go check ghana lending history: start with the amount withdrawn, by GHANA; Outstanding debt by IMF, and then factor in other crucial aspects like pandemics and disasters, climate change, and calamities.

I hope we closed this chapter already.

Mhhh, since you just brought it, we'll string along.

Ghana has nearly half Kenyan population.
Ghana has 95% of the arable land - Kenya 30% or less.
Ghana has vast mineral resources. ( including the most valuable one)
Ghana has no terrorist borders.
Ghana has zero infrastructure worth talking about.

If you sum the above syllogistic reasoning; you should get zero debt - Morocco or SA-like, and a very thriving nation. But guess what; ghana still triumphs in that sector of BACKWARDNESS WHY?

Kenya experiences all of the above, the biggest one being climate change. Then talk of terror attacks, paltry mineral resources, and whatnot. To add to that; huge infrastructural development: Huge seaports, SGR, Airports, Roads, Skyline, buildings, huge military budget, etc. (* Ghana is devoid of infrastructure development, where does money go?

You can do better. Don't engage emotions in your argument.
is that the new excuse for why you've taken 22 bailouts?

Kenya has 54% of it lands as agriculture lands, that is more than the land size of Ghana
Kenya has twice Ghana population in any case shouldn't be taking 22 bailout
Kenya has vast amount of resources
Kenya has less infrastructure than Ghana in all area of development.

So why is Kenya this backward, what did you use all those 90 billion loans you've taken.
Why is your population in such a desperate situation?
Why have you not provided then with basic stuff?

Why are you running to the IMF every year despite all the Chinese money

Going for a bailout is a problem as IMF will give you very tough conditions and literally run your country. Going for precautionary facilities when you see economic headwinds is part of prudent management. What does Ghana do - run to Eurobond or commercial loans - then 3yrs later with shame and their tail behind the legs - they run to IMF for the usual spanking.
Is that why you e been going every year?

How come your country has taken 2 bailout in just the space of 12 months...
