jl115: Isn't Texas the USAs largest energy producer? Isn't it also the largest producer of renewable energy?..... Isn't it also the state with one of the cheapest electricity prices?
Also their 2021 power crisis was due to weather evidence as well none of your submission has anything to do with what we are talking about... Anyway, nice deflection |

jl115: show me where this was tried in a perfect captalist system.... I'll wait Texas wanted it own grid witch was separate from the US interconnected grid network... In creating this separate grid, it ended up with pockets of IPPs here and there who were only interested in supplying electricity to the rich neighborhoods in in the major cities. Today Texas has three grids interconnected and serving the entire state. New York is another example |

rvp2018: Capitalism doesn't work for everything...if eskom lose top 100 customers to independent power producers..it will not be able to supply millions. Power sector demand a little complicated to left to capitalism.Eskom should be split orderly to ensure the units are viable.First seperate producers, distributors and suppliers.Just40 is right...you're digging a bigger hole like Nigeria did.Ipp will focus few profitable business like a mine or big manufacturing company...the millions of south Africa who need few units but live thousands of kilometers from power producers will left as Eskom become bankrupt I can't believe you are making sense Where have you been keeping this wisdom? Herh |

jl115: the beauty of captalism and non monopolies my bru..... You pay for the service you get.... I don't have to pay a 33% hike for Eskom when I don't even get electricity hmm If they segregate the power grid, you might end up on the side with the worse outage |

jl115: they are fixing it by allowing IPPs to sell directly to customers, however this should've happened years ago....as for Eskom, its a lost cause imo, it just needs to stay alive a couple of years untill there is a sufficient number of IPPs... In general the Western Cape is already a stage or 2 lower on the load shedding scale because its producing its own electricity wouldn't that be a mess ...? How will you ensure price uniformity and stability when IPPs sell directly to consumers instead of a monopolized distributor? IPP selling directly to customers will only create electricity grid segregation whereby certain places will have more electricity while other place have less |

AfriqueDuZuid: They haven't reached a good capacity yet that's why They actually have a good capacity, infact I think they come first when you talk about renewable energy. Basically, current renewable energy tech isn't designed to be used on an industrial scale Hence why it have been a challenge for Germany and has mostly failed to make a real impact |

rvp2018: Everything existed...only problem was mass production...that what Europeans figured out..use it to enslaved you and colonize us..yours was double whammy.Hails the queen for saving you It was already mass produced here hence why ever family including the poorest slave had them. I like how your argument keep shifting.. Anyway, the Europeans only used military agreements and our violent tribal wars to gain a foothold here and not cloths. That is also a documented history ... Let's see your next line of argument. During those days, because your society was not educated, they had no idea what a military agreement was. |

rvp2018: You were not able to mass produce clothes so when dutch showered up with clothes you sold your own mother's.The British stopped slave trade so now your argument has shifted from the Europeans brought cloth here to what we had wasn't enough ? Anyway let me burst that bubble for you, the most traded community were guns, gold and slaves. The dutch only started trading clothes in the late 1800s. Learn your history and you won't have to distort those of others to feel relevant |
