Good job OP. Please where do I buy lightcoin and dash and which wallet is best for saving them? Coinomi acting funny this days
You can buy Litecoin from Exchnagers here on Nairaland. I recommend you buy Litecoin or Ethereum and then convert it to some Dash.

Wow! You must be very matured and nice, I have read through the post and you have been very helpful and polite, a rare trait on NL. I have been very slow to this crypto currency stuff maybe if I have paid attention i might have made a few bucks. Last year I had $500 on my PayPal account but was just spending it on crap and also giving it away to people always crying for help. Now it's just about $80 left. I know it's nothing but still i want to invest it on Bitcoin.. Pls advice me if it's cool or i should just forget it. If it's cool can you advice me what to do cos am so new to this. Thanks
Yes, start small and build on it. I didn't have a large amount to put in. Every month and every week for the past few months, a little percent of my income has gone to cryptos.

Gud pm nairalanders.

I'm a young lady in my early 30, married for 2years+ now... my issue is that my husband doesn't gist with me but when he is with other ladies, he can laugh & gist for Africa. He has never taken me out after our marriage. in short I look like a tenant in his house. if we are going out he will tell me to be in front while he will b far behind. if I complain, he will say I'm nagging.

I was sick last week, he just came dropped #10k for me to go see our doctor, he didn't even ask if I can go by myself BT same incident happened to his younger bro wife yesterday, with just a phone call, he went to the hospital & stood by d bro. over night ( sumtin he didn't even do wen I gave birth to our baby) I have been thinking he will change BT this days own his really worst, calling some girls in my streets "my love" why he shout my 1st name no matter where he is.

Pls advise me cos I am beginning to dislike him
Hello Op, I didn't bother reading all the advise people may have given above, but trust me, o have seen your case first hand.

Your husband does not value or respect you, and do not be surprised if he cheats. He is probably ashamed of you. What you need to do is start taking your stand on things. If you do not have a job and have a remarkable stream of income, get one. Stop depending so much on him, get things done yourself, learn a new skill, learn a new language, and while at it, flaunt it at his face. And like someone said above, pray.

Pls help
It is a good thing that you are learning some skills. I started off writing on Freelancer, then moved over to Fiverr. Web Design (full stack) and graphic designs are a good skills, master them. Also, I encourage you to learn illustrator and general branding. When you are proficient enough, head off to 99designs, create an account and if you are very good and lucky, you will win some jobs.

You can also try out Fiverr. There are multiple threads here that work you through.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything more. Thanks.

Can coins go down like ponzi schemes?
No, they can't go down like ponzi schemes. Think of them like Forex or stocks. Global economics affects the prices of fiat currencies and the price stocks. Similarly, innovations and formidable partnerships affect the prices of these coins.

For example, 2-3 weeks ago, the price of an altcoin, IOTA moved from around $2 to $5 because there was news that Microsoft was partnering with them. They later came out to debunk the claim and clarify their relationship with Microsoft and the price went down a bit.

There have also been cases of ICOs running away with customers money but that is not very common.

Whatcha think of this by former chair of Fed Reserve? (Note bolded)

Greenspan compares bitcoin to Colonial America currency that eventually became worthless

Greenspan compares bitcoin, at more than $12,000 as of Wednesday, to the money issued by the Continental Congress in 1775 to finance the war effort.Even something that is ultimately worthless can create real goods and services in the near term, Greenspan says.

Liz Moyer

Published 10:32 AM ET Wed, 6 Dec 2017Updated 1:08 PM ET Wed, 6 Dec 2017

Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan told CNBC on Wednesday that bitcoin reminds him of currency issued during America's Colonial past that ultimately proved worthless.

Greenspan compared the high-flying cryptocurrency to 1775 Continental currency that was worthless by 1782. In the in-between years, however, the money allowed patriots like George Washington to buy armaments and other supplies.

Continental money was so-called fiat currency. Declared legal tender by the Continental Congress, it derived its value from the amount of paper notes available and the demand for them rather than by the backing of a commodity such as gold or silver.

So will bitcoin ultimately be worthless? Not necessarily. It depends on the future supply. In the case of Continentals, the amount of currency just kept rising, in part because they were easily counterfeited.

Greenspan is not surprised that cryptocurrencies are popular.

"Human beings buy all sorts of things that aren’t worth anything, but they do it anyway,” he said.
"People gamble in casinos when the odds are against them. It has never stopped anybody."

You cannot tell me that you can create, out of nothing, something which has a medium of exchange value
without bringing into the analysis the fact that sometimes people are a little bewildered,” he said.

“That does not mean it will not trade,” he added.

WATCH: Bitcoin's origin story remains shrouded in mystery. Here's why it matters.
Here's what you are doing. You take out time to look for all the gative news on Bitcoin and then you come to claim an expert. In the same manner look for what John McCafee, Warren Buffet, Bill Gate, Richard Branson, the US Senate, Japan, and even Venezuela and saying and doing about cryptocurrencies.

The trouble with bitcoin is that it makes no sense. All I keep hearing is "blockchain", "leger",
"blockchain", "ledger"!!
Nobody has been able to explain how something we all know is not real and not tied to anything of real-life value and not backed by a govt can be worth $17,000!!
I encourage you to take out time and read. Instead of trying to argue, make out time and read.

from what i have seen mining is almost an impossible task, so trading and storing.

its like shares isnt it?
The basics of trading will mean you first have to understand what the chart means. When to enter the market and when to exit. How to read candle sticks, how to make predictions, etc. This is something you have to learn on your own. There are a lot of videos on YouTube to get you started with this.

op I can across a trend here on nairaland that was talking about slide coin.

slide coin is an Android app that mines bitcoin free
do you know about it? if yes, please throw more light on it

2 how can one enable 2fa on coinbase

Thanks
1. Any app or individual that promises you that you can mine a reasonable amount of Bitcoin on your phone, a software, or a hardware (without a reasonable investment) is a scam. To put this in perspective, I have 2 fairly okay systems; a dell lattitude Core i7, 8gb RAM and an HP with similar specs (no dedicated graphics card). I ran both systems for 24 hours but didn't make up to 50 cents - both systems were over heating. So please from experience, any app that requires you to perform tasks or mine on your phone or laptop is not ideal. This is called "faucet farming" and at the end you will be frustrated.

2. Like I said earlier, I have never used coinbase, so I don't know how their interface works. I will have a quick look and revert back to you.

Update:
1. Open your account on coinbase
2. Click on settings
3. Select the security tab
4. Click on enable authenticator
5. Use your android or PC Google authenticator app to scan the bar code
6. Retype the 6-digit code on coinbase.

This is all.
Note: Write down your "Authenticator Recovery Code" and keep it safe.

1)I want to transfer my bitcoins from Blockchain to Luno. Will my bitcoins still be growing?

2) how do people hack into someone's bitcoin wallet? Saw a post of a guy who lost his funds due to this and he has never shared his password with anyone

3) Does Ethereum have the potential to spring up like btc?
1. The value of the Bitcoin in your wallet is dependent on the overall market price, not on the wallet provider. So yes, it will still increase if the price of Bitcoin goes up, and vice versa.

2. There are several ways your wallet can be hacked. There are malware that can capture your password and steal your funds. Always ensure you have 2FA enable. Recently, I had an issue with blockchain and I posted my problem on their Facebook page. A scam artist who claims to be from support contacted me and asked for my 12 word recovery phase. Anyone that has those world can steal from your account - don't give it to anyone. Also, there are phishing links that steal your details. They are a clone of the real site.

3. Yes, it does. At the beginning of this year it was around $8. It is currently around $850. Experts have said it may reach $1500 by next year. But I predict $2500 by he end of next year.

Going into trading, you can start with $100 to test the waters. If you are already grounded, anything from $1000-5,000 is okay. I am guessing you already know how to read candle sticks and draw chart lines. I am not an expert in this field.

thanks so much dear, but I'm currently unemployed no money to invest .would have loved to invest now
That's not an excuse my friend. One day, I will tell my story but not today. One fundamental truth I have learnt in life is that man will always survive. When I earned 400k I survived, when I earned a lot less, I survived, when I lost it all I still survived. It was in losing it all, I started investing.

But as an advice, whatever you earn irrespective of how small, keep 30% of it aside for an investment - it can be buying and selling, cryptocurrencies, or anything else.

The poor man thinks of what to eat and drink today, the rich man thinks of what to forgo today, to make a lot more tomorrow.

1 how about coinbase? I saw that here on nairaland, how safe is it?
2 the minimum amount I can invest
3 equivalent of 1bitcoin in naira
1. I have never used coinbase so I can't give an advice to that regards. I think they sell just 3 coins - Bitcoin - BTC, Ethereum - ETH, and Litecoin - LTC. If your interest in mainly on any of these, go with Coinbase.

2. I can't say. It depends on your goals. I set out 60% of my monthly income to invest in cryptocurrencies. You can start with as low as 20 USD or as high as 100,000 USD

3. 1 BTC is currently hovering around 18,000 USD. That is 6.57 million Naira at a rate of 365/USD.

Read the news, that's the basics. It is all dependent on what you want to achieve and your purpose for investing. Is it to store, are you trying to mine, are you interested in trading? These are all pertinent questions you need to ask.

What cryptocurrency would you advice an investor to buy now?
1. Bitcoin - Why? Because it is he first, has the largest market share and cap, and if it crashes, chances are that others will follow suit. Predictions are that it will reach 50,000 USD by the end of 2018.

2. Ethereum - It is the second largest in terms of market cap and it enjoys faster transaction time and better fees. Check all the recent ICOS, they run on Ethereum block chain. This is close to 900 USD and may see 2000 USD by the end of 2018.

3. Lite coin - The founder calls it the silver to Bitcoin's gold. And that is true. Litecoin can process 15k transactions a second. In the future, while Bitcoin will be used as a store of value, Litecoin may be used for everyday payments.

4. Ripple - The ripple technology is outstanding. They currently have major partnerships with banks to help hasten banking transactions. I see it reaching 5 USD soon.

5. Dash - No special reason for this. I think it is fast. And right before my eyes, I saw it got from 400 USD to over 1000 USD. I was lucky yo buy at 700 USD. In Brazil there are now 20,000 DASH ATMs if I am not mistaken.

6. IOTA - This coin runs on a tangle technology i.e internet of things. And that is the trajectory the world is headed towards.

These are few of the coins I recommend and actively have investments in.
