Education / Re: Ambrose Alli University Reacts To Forcing Medical Students To Sign Undertaking by justhenrii(m): 9:50am On Dec 08, 2023
The school was at fault for over admitting. But at the end of the day this is the best option to remedy it without having the throw the students out to other courses. Universities should be ready before planning to start a medical program.

What's the punishment for the ' previous administration ' that granted them the irregular admission?

The students and their parents should even be the ones to sue the school management for this waste of time and resources and of course, the trauma.

Well if they take that means, the end result will still be to push them out of Medicine and Surgery.
The problem has been done already and this is the only way to remedy it without having to throw out the students to other departments

Snowale:
You have to loose all fat first, you will look lean and fit at first, if you continue with the workout, then you start gaining body mass.
Meanwhile, it's not always about food, fasting also makes one lean, and a quite number of fat people don't eat much.
Thanks this will help me too. I also have same problem @OP thanks for bring this up.
Education / Parenting And Education by justhenrii(m): 8:25pm On Dec 17, 2019
I am not a parent at least not in the next five to ten years but I have been a teacher and with my little experience the style of parenting one chooses to adopt can either have both a positive and negative impact on the child.To this I have highlighted below my observations and how it affects the child on a long run;
1. Being involved in your child's school; Most parents are either not involved or a little too involved now you want to be moderately involved in your child's academics by knowing his or her teacher_this is very important because some teachers develop a better relationship with a child when they know the parents face to face, so next time you are droping off your ward at school why not hop in a little and say hi to the teacher. For the parents that are too involved they always want to know what the teacher is doing right and not doing right, they want to always look for fault on the path of the teacher and any slight mistake they are off to report to the school authority_do you think such person will love to give your child special preference again?

2. Tailing your wards progress; This follows up the above stated, when you know your wards teacher you are able to monitor his or her progress from attention span when listening to relationship with their peers, because believe you me not everything on the report cards are usually true, most are made up or spiked so as to pacify you.

3. Social activities; I know of a parent that prefers coercing the child into being locked up at home reading, doesn't pay for extracurricular activities. Fine the child might be sound academically but you'd end up turning such child into a social invalid they'd become introverts and lack basic social skills. Parents should make learning fun by being flexible, not everything should be about books sometimes they should be allowed to play with friends so they cannot only be good academically but socially.

4. Boosting their potentials; No child was born a dullard what makes them seemingly dull is because they spend less time on academics but more on other activities. When teaching I advised parents to introduce books with pictures as this tend to boost the interest.

5. PTA meetings; See ehn the importance of these meetings cannot be overemphasized get involved and ensure that teachers are properly remunerated by the school management becos a well paid teacher will give u maximum output on your child's success.

Its important this thread makes FP so that parents can learn as they prepare their child to resume for second term.
