Nb, angels and demons was chosen because its the only movie suggested more than once. And its a new flick. All our past reviews have been older movies.

Yeah, the whole Paris thing was Frank's idea. He was always dreaming of living there. I think his zest and hunger to live was one of the reasons April married him.

They got married, had babies, and soon after, the dream took the backseat. They became like everyother person. They lived a regular life, in a regular neighbourhood, did regular jobs, and once again they were just a regular couple afterall.
April resurrected the Paris idea just so she could feel alive. She talked Frank into it.

The plan was, April works, Frank sits at home!
Everybody they told their plan figured they were insane. The only person who seemed to relate with their idea was actually insane, lol.

Point is: Live the dream. Live the life. But dont kill yourself trying.

Also, remember when the insane dude told her ''i'm happy i wont be that child'' refering to the pregnancy.
and she even refered to their first child as a mistake. The second child happened so they can tell themselves the first wasnt a mistake, Imagine!

But what was in Paris that was so enticing to her? Because the way she pursued and longed for the move was too fierce.
I think it was more than just living the dream life. She was running from something. From herself, i think. She hates her life and wants something to make herself happy, thus, talking her husband into the move to Paris.

Season 8 is unavoidable,

Revolutionary Road was a good movie. Very practical, very realistic, very down to earth.
It tells the story of a typical couple trying to live the life even at very unrealistic costs.

I was amazed kate was ready to have an abortion jus so she could go to paris to start a life.
The lenghts she was ready to go was very scary that it ruined their lives.

Nice movie. But my question is, why did she have the abortion? Was is still cos so she could go to paris or cos of what the insane dude said about the unborn child?

I rate the movie 70%.

The Dark Knight

I've never really liked the idea called Batman. I've never been a fan, but this movie changed a whole lotta things. It was so well delivered that even a lower than average movie person without any comic book background would find it very intriguing.
Its very striking, very precise, very imposing. Its a very fictional material yet, very easy to relate with. . Most importantly, very entertaining.

Heath Ledger's performance was exceptional. its a cliche, I know, but it has to be said.
I said to myself oneday. . ., someone cannot be that good and be alive!. and be living among mere mortals. . .
His death, sad, made his performance legendary.
Nobody alive can come close to that kind of performance. Well, maybe Johnny Depp. ( He'll be The Riddler in the next installment)

Nice job all round. Acting, Casting, Directing, Story. . .everything.`
But those idiots at the Oscars obviously saw something else.
They have something against action flicks. The highest rated movie on almost every movie review board did poorly at the awards!

. . .and I'm sure if Ledger was alive, he wouldnt have won anything. .

I rate the movie 95%. the remaining 5% was 'cos I wasnt in the movie. .

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

One of the best stories I've seen in a while. The concept, the plot, the visual effects and directing is grade A.

The concept of the clock moving backwards and a man living his life backwards is so very beautiful. it just means that whichever way we choose our lives, either forward or backward, whatever choices we make is what shapes our life.

One of the beautiful things in the movie was the way they played around death. the inevitability of it. man must live, and at some point, age and die. just making it clearer that age and death are friends,  lol

I really think the movie deserved more awards than it got. Not sure about Brad Pitt winning though, but the movie shoulda won won Best Picture at the Oscars.

I'll rate the movie 75%.

Sad thing is, this mite be the only movie these boys ever appear in. Except there's another indian movie on playful poor indian boys thar would be this successful.

Yeah, the bit about the title is really true. Indians found the title very degrading and threatened a mass shunning of the movie. But they later came around when success came with the name.
On the night of the Oscars, reported on CNN, native indians were glued and gathered around TVs and radios to catch the awards. And once the movie packed all the awards available, they jumped into the streets and celebrated the 'slumdog'.
Talks about the title has been quelled by all the success and attention the movie got.
They say success has many relatives. lol,

And yeah, I think those lil indian boys deserve more than they are getting. They deserve more than a night of glory in designer suits to attend the oscars. They deserve more of the attention Dev is getting.
Well, i dont really blame the media. The boys are still minors and they are largely still with their parents. I just hope they were paid handsomely, and the parents too. Cos the success of the movie should directly be seen in the lives of all involved.

Yeah, the host of the show was extra hostile. I think the reason he wasn't particularly friendly was because he thought Jamal was cheating one way or the other. Nobody has gotten that far before and he just was not too happy seeing a 'slumdog' taking all the money. He even told him the wrong answer to make him lose out.

The movie did well at the oscars because it appealed to a lot of people. The movie is very endearing. you just would fall in love with those 2 little indian boys. Almost the best acting i've seen from kids,

Remember how Jamal practically went through shit just to see his fav actor.
I watched that part almost five times. It was soooo funny!.

As many reviews as possible. there is no limit to the number of reviews on a movie. infact, the more the merrier. Review on a movie stops when we choose a new one which I think should be weekly.

This movie, if not for anything, is successful because it caught the attention of everybody. It is very sober, yet active. It catches your attention and makes you slow down from all the fast paced stuff moving around you.

One thing for me is the way the director chose to tell the story. The story was told in flashbacks. The entirety of the story was shown to us from memories, flashbacks and thoughts. Very rare and very beautiful way of telling a story. And I think that is one of the reasons the movie caught a whole lot of attention.

The highs of the movie for me, are the plot, casting, dialogue, continuity and relevance to its content.

The plot is very easy to understand and very practical.
A poor boy from Mumbai gets on a money spinning show to catch the attention of a girl. While on the show, questions are asked and the answer to each question is laced and buried in his past. His childhood. So he has to get back into his past, shown to us through flashbacks, bring out the answers and answer the questions.

But the last question though, about the 3 Musketeers, he depended on sheer luck to answer, and he won the grand prize,

Casting those little Indian boys was very beautiful. They acted like naturals and it was a beautiful sight. and the continuity was nice. Nice flow through all the ages. .

Very nice work.

The movie also had some native humour.

Jamal and his brother found themselves in the Taj Mahal and pretended to be tour escorts, he was explaining it was built by ,Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Mahal.
A woman asked. "Oh, how did his wife die"?
Jamal said, "In a tragic motor accident"

The woman looked perplexed and said. "But I heard she died during child birth"
Jamal, looking cornered said, "Yeah, on the road to the hospital".  


Real nice work from Danny Boyle and the actors. nice, nice.

I would rate it 75%.
