Ok! So enough of the PDP banter! Its getting annoying.

Isn't 3 votes the number that gets a movie reviewed? Black Swan got 3 and I made it official. Why the
PDP slurs?

Stopped watching from season 2. It wasn't that I didn't understand, it was that the thing didn't make any bit of sense.
The show was set out I'm sure for just one season. Crash a plane into an island and see how different people from different places with different stories and background would interact and survive. Shikena! Until they started pushing stupid buttons and black whirl winds started carrying people.

Its not confusing. Its just plain stupid.

Americans loved it though. They think because they don't understand something, it has to be cool. They don't want to agree the show is trash. Not at the expense of being called stupid. But guess what. The show is/was trash.

My rant ends here. *drinks cold water*

Sin City is the most visually inventive comic book adaptation yet. .Yes I know thats a huge claim. .but no other adaptation comes close. You know of any? Insert name here. _____________________________.
While other directors have attempted to play safe and remain faithful to their source material, Sin City went further and it was pure fun to watch.

It's easy to get lost in Sin City. There's something to appreciate around every corner - the gritty characters, the uncompromising story, and, most of all, visuals to astound and amaze. The obvious, yet clever use of black and white pictures amazes me till today. Twas pure genius. And the idea of showing only the colour red was jus incredible. And he broke the rule only where he had to show the yellow bad guy grin. . Im still amazed. Nice stuff.

To the story/stories. .Adaptations are quite clear and straightforward. There's a premise on which the movie is based on. .and Sin city didnt fail. So on the story and plot. .I'll give Frank Miller's comic novels all the credit.
The victory Sin City made was translating that into something beautiful to watch. .

And have I mentioned how much of a genius Robert Rodriguez is? wink For pulling this sorta thing off. .?

The movie dialogue. .damn! I love. It was comic book-like. It wasnt your everyday 'talk and reply' kinda dialogue. . the words were used as it would be in a comic book. Twas just like we were reading the comic with moving pictures. . grin
And the violence was sweet. .seeing red blood splash all around a black and white background. Lovely! grin

And the ensemble cast was crazy. How do you get all these people in one movie??
Best for me was Elijah Woods. . .with his glasses and dark moves. . grin

And who knew Jessica Alba would still look stunning in black and white? grin

I'll rate this 90%

Identity is a beautiful movie. John Cusak's best acting.
The movie opened my eyes to MPDs. Nice.

Its straightforward tho. Except we want to "heighten the experience" as vesc delicately said.

What ya think?

Im not sure about anything in the movie. .I was just impressed by the sheer genius of the writing and staging of the whole plot. Twas lovely.

The Ludovico technique, if thats what you were refering to, isnt really a cure. Twas just a technique to let Alex see the reality and gravity of his violence. Throughout the movie, he didnt seem to realise the reality of his own violence on people. He sees violence as just a game. When he watches a movie, he understands life. .hence, you need to turn real life into art before he can understand. (Thats the twisted logic I love bout the movie).

So the irony is that Life must be turned into art before Alex can understand it. .I think thats what the technique was all about. .
But im not sure if it worked.

Good movie huh.?
