IMO and i stand to be corrected since I aint a health care practitioner, the only area naija as a society needs to battle regarding HIV is the stigmatisation. We still have a long long way to go in that aspect. But anything else from testing of patients, to public sensitisation, to management of HIV, naija dey try.

your d stigmatisation is still dere even among health practioners ,dats why during councilling we talk about stigmatization we trying buh africa mentality always set in.by God grace we get dere

Is it that he has never been tested? Cos if he has, he should know better because irrespective of your status, there will be a small counselling session. If negative, you will be told to always practise safe sex, and that you should endeavour to come back in 6 months for a re-test bla bla bla and if positive, you will be advised that it aint the end of the world and told to commence your anti retroviral edication ASAP. Even if he has never been tested, doesnt he listen to jingles on the radio and tv? Countless adverts abound in both the electronic and print media by Society for family health and other bodies saddled with the responsibility of battling HIV in naija.Like the saying goes, IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE. Its even worse for a sexually active Nigerian not to know this and we all know the status of his sexual activity. IN MY OPINION, that is a very reckless and irresponsible statement to make on a forum as huge as BB.

Maybe he thinks officials of the federal ministry of health go to work only to eat like he is doing in BB. HIV is a massive issue worldwide and for anyone, an adult at that to think naija is treating it with kid gloves just speaks volumes of the person's ignorance or non challant attitude. Com'on man.

its so sad dat adult like bev and mel dont know about effort govt is putting on HIV /aids am a health professional and alot of sensitization have always and still going on on dis issue including infant/ maternal mortality.what about NACA havent dey heard about it.even on tv dey campaign alot on dis virus.pls i wont take any excuses from dier ignorance.
