So Sad so so sad |
Happy birthday ma'am.. |
Lovely post, so refreshing to read good deeds these days... I say Amen to all the prayers that have been showered on you. |
The very first day i saw that video footage, i was completely convinced that it was not a structural failure. Unfortunately the authorities are not taking the issue of controlled explosion serious. I am not a fan of TB but truth must be said at all times. I think people judged the man and his church harshly. |
OP: you really cracked me up with this narrative. Have you considered writing as a career? I bet you will be a good writer if you it give your best. For sure i will buy your book any day. |
I think this is good news, enough of the blood letting. |
The Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, has therefore ordered all service chiefs to comply with the ceasefire agreement between Nigeria and Boko Haram in all theaters of operations. The Principal Private Secretary to the President, Ambassador Hassan Tukur, met with Chadian Government officials as well as representatives of the Boko Haram sect in N’Djamena, Chad on Friday morning. Securing the release of the 219 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram was a major part of the discussions. The Boko Haram sect was represented by Danladi Ahmadu at the meeting. http://www.channelstv.com/2014/10/17/nigeria-reaches-ceasefire-agreement-with-boko-haram-sect/ |
Kanu Pillars could have done better |
APContherun: Some say revisiting the war may reopen new wounds but I say that the wounds are still very fresh even more than 40 years and the best way to heal the wounds is to not repeat the mistakes of the past. We can only avoid the mistakes by knowing them and we can only know them by revisiting the war.How can we forget a defining incident such as the war? I think the reason the SS and SE are getting along recently is the open admission of the SS that they indeed made error of judgment at the time. If every major actor could come out and take responsibility for their actions then, the wounds will heal faster. Otherwise this mistrust will keep widening until we move apart. |
i will like come for inspection on Oct 1..can you arrange that? |
Can you please describe the property. How many baths and toilets, is there water? |
Please what is the cost? |
Ok, I will probably come to inspect on Sat or Sunday. Is that ok? |
Sir can you please describe the area for me? |
Where is Ishashi pls? |
spyder880: Then, casting started.......Weldone Mr Spyder, you make a good lecturer. One quick question, are you not using reinforcements for the floor casting? |
How much is it please? Is it dry land? |
Please when will your next inspection take place? |
Hi, 2 questions: Can i get half of this? How close is it to Abesan? |
When folks commit crime in UK their Nigerian link is emphasized. But when they win laurels for them you hardly hear mention of their Nigerian link. These evil guys are British, finish! |
Where will Owelle be In 2015? Just wondering. 1999 – PDP 2003 – ANPP 2003 – PDP 2005 – AA 2007 – PDP 2011 – APGA 2013 – APC 2015 - ?? |
Thanks Op, you have brought back good old memories... Now i think i should take my boys to see UI and the Zoo. Back to the roots! |
So happy for them.. God bless their marriage. I enjoy their part most in Tinsel. |
Is the op selling car security device or what... That and ignorance will be the only reasons for posting this. Check the link where it was copied. Says 30yrs ago MAYBE!. kramer: Apparently this is garbage!! ... Its explained here |
Chinua Achebe! God should make these kind of people immortal!! Your works touched my life.... rest in the Lord. |
toronto419: he is not qualified to vote but he is qualified to be voted forYou are right.... an outsider from the conclave can be voted for.. If i am correct it rarely happens. |
felifeli: All structures and things vibrate. This is caused by natural transmission of impact or impulse through the structure. In this case the impact is due to the vehicle tyre loads and also impulse from vehicle noise. The only way that the bridge could collapse is when the frequency of the vibration harmonises with the natural frequency of the material of the structure , in which case the structure just liquefies (disintegrates). Expansion/construction joints work not only to accomodate internal stress from temperature variations but they also incorporate dampers which absorb the vibration to forestall collapse. Of course I speak as an engineer. Can you explain the bold words sir? |
Arinze isnt qualified. He is above the age limit and he is not even in the conclave. Only 2 nigerian cardinals are qualified to vote and be voted for... Cardinals Okogie and Onaiyekan. petsam11: Like seriously, that Cardinal should be made Pope...Simple!!! |
Thanks bro for the post.... I am actually waiting for all the people saying that it is natural to notice vibration on a bridge to spell out their professional leaning...those movements in structures are not supposed to be even felt, not to talk of seen!
Hmmmm. I wouldn't expect the noticeable vibration of a major bridge as a natural state of engineering affairs. I lived abroad for many years and never felt the vibration of any bridge or ever heard of any commuter with such an experience. From the engineering stand point, periodic stimulus of a mechanical system, such as wind buffeting a bridge could cause vibrations. These vibrations, however, are more or less in harmony with the bridge's natural vibrations (which are really not supposed to be felt by motorists). If unchecked, the vibration can increase drastically, sending destructive, resonant vibrations traveling through a bridge in the form of torsional waves. God forbid, but when de bridge fall down, make una no blame GEJ and the responsible minister. I believe say dat bridge na federal structure.
|
I know a bit of Engineering,it is normal because metal contract on cooling and Expand on heating,so if you go back there in the afternoon you would think it a miracle but its pure Science
The vibration and movement should not be noticeable...Otherwise you will be noticing swinging motion in buildings. I hope you know that most buildings have expansion joints. |
Sincere 9gerian: If it is called an expansion joint, then why should it be strange if you noticed vibration from an expanding joint? An expansion joint or movement joint is an assembly designed to safely absorb the heat-induced expansion and contraction of various construction materials, to absorb vibration...you don't need to be an engineer to know this. |
