A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday granted a former Head of Service of the Federation, Mr. Stephen Oronsaye, and his co-accused, release from custody pending the hearing of their bail application. Justice Gabriel Kolawole made the order shortly after the accused persons were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on 24 counts of money laundering and fraud charges. Justice Kolawole, who adjourned the hearing of the bail applications till July 21, ruled that the release granted to the accused persons would only take effect upon filing of written undertakings by defence lawyers assuring that they would produce their clients in court at the next hearing date. The judge hinged his decision to release the accused persons in the interim on the grounds that the EFCC had not indicated that the accused persons, particularly Oronsaye, had the tendency of absconding from trial. He had also overruled the request by the EFCC prosecutor, Mr. Aliyu Yussuf, for the remand of the accused persons in prison. The judge held that he could not force the accused persons on the EFCC whose counsel contended that there was no space to accommodate them in its custody, but under the principle of “interim judicial reprieve,” the court lacked the power to release the accused persons pending the hearing of the bail applications. The court has fixed October 28, 29; November 3, 5 as well as December 5 for trial. http://www.punchng.com/news/efcc-arraigns-oronsaye-others-for-money-laundering/ |
“NNPC (Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation) must die!” were the stern words of the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, on Monday in Abuja. A visibly angry El-Rufai, while speaking on Monday at the 7th Wole Soyinka Centre Media Lecture Series, lambasted the national oil firm, stressing that he was hopeful that the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari would kill the corporation. The Kaduna State governor called for the setting up of another national oil firm as he argued that the present NNPC would kill Nigeria if it is allowed to continue running as the country’s oil firm. “If you don’t kill NNPC, it kill Nigeria,” El-Rufai said. http://www.punchng.com/news/nnpc-must-die-el-rufai/ |

Let's face it, 10yrs ago it was an unfathomable thought that a Nigerian artiste would collaborate with international stars, with the way our local music industry was nosediving. Then out of the blues (as it seems) our music's now the rave of the moment. Nigerian artistes are now collaborating with so much harmony with their foreign counterparts that I won't be surprised if someone like Eminem BEGS Wizkid for a collabo tomorrow. Here are a list of the very best Naija/Foreign collabos so far: 1. Psquare ft Rick Ross (Beautiful Onyinye rmx). 2. Mohits ft Snoop Dogg (Mr. Endowed rmx). 3. Timaya ft Sean Paul (Bum bum rmx). 4. Psquare ft Akon (Chop my money rmx). 5. Psquare ft T.I. (Ejeajo). 6. 2face Idibia ft Beenie Man & Reggie Rockstone (Nfana ibanga rmx) |

michaelwilli:Thanx bro, that was quite enlightening. Android is another operating system, right? So if i install linux, it means I'm running both OS in one device, or does it replace the main features of the android? Second, the free 4g of memory card, is it going to be consumed by the linux application or will it still be free for me to use for storing other things after installation? |

A young woman was reportedly killed when she fell off a bridge trying to take a selfie. Anna Krupeynikova, a 21-year-old, was out with pals when she leaned against a fence to take a picture of herself, according to local media. But her support reportedly gave way, and she plunged 40 feet to her death. The accident happened when Anna – who had just graduated with a degree in tourism – was travelling on a bus the group had hired to celebrate the birthday of a 19-year-old colleague. They were sightseeing around Moscow and stopped by a bridge to take a few pictures of the Russian capital when the incident occurred, The Sun, reports. Anna, a keen dancer who was just weeks away from her 22nd birthday, wandered away from the main group to take a selfie. Anton, 19, one of her friends, said: “We met her a few months ago and should become one of our gang, she was quiet but always cheerful and when we got to the place where she died we had been taking photographs. “Suddenly I heard a yell and someone said ‘Anna fell down’. I thought it was a joke but then I saw the reaction of people who went and looked over the side of the bridge.” Local media said police were investigating whether she had been drinking but friends told local television that nobody on the bus had been drinking, and the party had been simply about people who were friends getting together and enjoying themselves. http://www.punchng.com/feature/weird-planet/woman-plunges-to-death-trying-to-take-selfie/

histemple:Lady, you deserve an award for that last statement - there's truly no employee on the list of the world's richest persons. |
Most people blame the education sector but the reality is, the contribution of the sector to graduate unemployment is just down the ladder as you have rightly put it |
rottennaija:Yeah, but were they prepared for the responsibility of leadership? |
I think so too. APC in general was built more for opposition than as a ruling party. Now they find leadership 'suddenly' thrusted upon them and they don't know how to go about turning things around. Its the same way I see these so called Biafra people. They're going to be so shocked at the level of in-fighting and divisions if - and that's a big IF - they succeed in their quest. |
That's sick |
bcomputer101:My guess is its a pre-arranged wedding, by the parents of the man who most likely's abroad and they don't want him to marry a 'white witch'. Not knowing that he's already married to the 'white witch' abroad, who's feeding him and taking care of all his expenses |
The typical deception of satan the serpent |
Different strokes for different folks. As for me my actions will depend on the attitude of my wife. Most women if you ask them to take one yard they'll take one kilometer. They become very bossy at home and look down on the husband because he earns less. For those kind of women its either they resign from the job or from the marriage, no other option. But for the wife who still manages to remain humble at home despite higher pay, why not, she should very well be encouraged to aspire higher. |
