Car Talk › Re: In Case You Missed This: FRSC ‘can No Longer’ Fine Motorists, Court Rules by Juxtified(m): 10:17am On Jul 27, 2016 |
Cool. But its not as if many of us Nigerians don't know our rights. Its just that most times, we are too guilty to exercise them. Take for instance, you are hurrying to work in the morning, already 1hr late, all your vehicle documents ('particulars'), and you are stopped by the FRSC. Now will you insist on following them to defend yourself in court (if you even have any defence in the first place), or just pay their fine and go your way? |
Politics › Re: Who Is Your Role Model? Among Nigerian Presidents. by Juxtified(m): 10:00am On Jul 27, 2016 |
Titheman: President not Head of State In the Nigerian context, there is no difference between President and Head of State. Except the circumstances under which they came into power. ****** If you're expecting me to chose between Obasanjo, Yar Adua, Jonathan and Buhari, then you have to remove the term "Role Model" . |

lol. Instalmentally is a nice word. Even when I found out recently that it is not located in any standard English dictionary, I still continued using it, till this day because I like it. There's nothing wrong with it. It is neither grammatically nor semantically wrong, just that it is non existent. Maybe if we keep using it the editors of the Oxford English Dictionary will consider recognizing it officially. |

We cannot afford to have that level of misconduct and controversy in a contestant of this highly esteemed contest.
I am sorry, KINGINVAHALA, you are disqualified from the contest on grounds of VIOLENT DECLARATIONS AND UNDUE THREATENING OF NAIRALAND MEMBERS. Can you please give instances of the "violent declarations and threats"? |

stonemasonn: you did not read this part.
“When we came on board, there was pressure on us because all of those 24,000 hectares belong to farmers. And the proposal we met on ground was that those farmers would be paid compensation of about a hundred thousand naira per hectare.” Saw it well bro, which is why I ended with this Juxtified: I believe he should have sold some government land instead or otherwise played some bureaucratic hardball to keep that blessed economic crusader in the state. As in, "we can't give you that, but we have something else we can offer for the same price, with lower tax rates and other benefits..." |

The state governor is right to an extent, you can't take away the lands of self employed farmers and convert them to perpetual employees. But why didn't he source for another land area for Dangote? You know the massive investment opportunities a sugar factory belonging to someone like Dangote can attract to your sleeping state? The taxes, jobs, IGR? Look at what is going on today at the Lekki Free Trade Zone, a major source of confidence for investors trooping there en masse is the Dangote Refinery. I believe he should have sold some government land instead or otherwise played some bureaucratic hardball to keep that blessed economic crusader in the state. |

Niger Delta Republic. The same way Nigeria fought for "independence" from the British without giving a thought to how the nation was going to be run, how to select its leaders, sources of income, law enforcement, peaceful coexistence while appreciating one another's diversity, and means for sustainable development. Almost 60yrs on and we are still suffering with NEPA having switched off the light at the end of the tunnel. |

mu2sa2: We can judge this one that it's an abomination before God and man that a man "marries" another man to engage in sodomy. You can't judge another person based on your own beliefs. What if he doesn't believe in God in the first place? On what level playing ground do you then engage him? |
