In my own opinion; I think there's a quota of non-immigrant visas issued to Nigerians annually. So chances of being issued visa towards d end of d year beckmes slim. So d best bet is to apply early in d year...

There's nothing to worry about. Just pray that they do their processing on time. My wife was given same paper on a Friday, i called them the following Friday and they forgot they hadn't called her to come submit her passport. Just call the embassy after few days,make sure you have all your information ready and they will tel you the situation of things.

@jyde2014:I'm using evangelical community hospital. It's 23 mins away from where I'll be staying. Would have used delaware,but it's an hour drive away from me. I think my hospital is a bit on the high side,consider the what others are paying so far.
Hospital fee is $5000 for vaginal delivery
Doctors fee is $2645.
Lab and ultrasound is$500
Pediatrician's fee is $1500 for 4visits.
A 30% discount is applied if u pay cash.

If u get a 30% discount,it's still a good deal.
@Heliano,hope u settled now? How much discount can one get from Delaware ?

Delaware County memorial hospital, $6000 for Hospital fee, $1500 for obgyn and $1500 for epidural. I don't know if it is inclusive of Pediatrician, lab or ultrasound. I am still trying to find out

However, as soon as your bills arrive, kindly discuss with the Financial Counselor that you are a self paying patient. I'm sure you would get huge discounts. Also i feel they can structure a payment plan for you if you can't cope with the bills at once.

oyinkay123: i didnt have the breakdown, i only went there with email correspondences to show i made part payment which is $4000. the hospital is Lankenau medical centre, pennsylvania (ABuja Embassy)

Just get the total breakdown given to you by the hospital and doctor. you shld be fine.
Pls what is the total cost of both doctor and hospital charges in this hospital? also if u have any contact, pls kindly give to me.

SisiOlu: Thank you very much Tvegas. You've provided useful insight, guess I didn't see the interview in the light you did. I got my first visa without the intention to give birth as I decided much later after I had the visa. I got married to my fiance after our first child.

To apply on medical grounds, do I have to fill medical reasons in my ds-160 form and also get a letter from my Nigerian hospital? I am worried that the next VO will ask me why I did not apply on medical grounds the first time I was denied.

Like u rightly said, the VO might think u are desperate to migrate. Just carefully and honestly fill out another application, make sure you have proper plans for your next visit and be as honest as possible. All they wanna know is that you have the logistics and finance to take care of your trip,and u do not have any intention of migrating illegally. U don not necessarily need to apply on medical grounds. Just fill the regular b1/b2 and be prayerful.
Issuance of us visa is purely discretionary.

uchetobi: You are under administrative processing. It can take a month to three months. Iv read about similar situations on this thread. If you still have time, before you are due, relax your mind and follow up occasionally maybe bi-weekly

I don't think it might take that long. My wife went for her interview on a friday,she was told they needed to confirm her details from WHMC and Dr Rizk. I discussed with a friend the following thursday who advised i should call them to know d status. Fortunately, i called the consular office on friday, exactly a week after her interview and to the lady's surprise she thought my wife had been contatcted to come submit her passport. They immediately contacted my wife to come submit her passport. she submitted on tuesday and by close of business on wednesday, her visa was ready for pick up.
Although cases are judged individually, i hope and pray yours is resolved soonest. However like i said earlier, keep calling them.

My parents intend to spend their leave in the US, an aunt (my mom's sister) is the one inviting them over. My dad is to accompany my mom. My first question to the house is:
1) does my dad need to fill his own DS160 non immigrant form; as he is going as an a companion.

he didnt fill the DS160 online, because he was listed on my mom's DS160

with the confirmation number from my mom's application online we went on to make to make payment for both of them at GTB and got two reference numbers to book for an interview appointment next week.

opened a single profile using my mom's details, included my dad as well as her companion but we were required to put in a DS160 number, so we used the same number as the one used for my mom.

after choosing a date for interview; this notice showed up on the final confirmation page:
" PLEASE NOTE THAT ONE OR MORE OF THE DS-160 NUMBERS USED TO SCHEDULE THIS APPOINTMENT CAN NOT BE VALIDATED.
INCORRECT DS-160 NUMBERS MAY LEAD TO A DELAY IN BEING PROCESSED."

Please house what should we do?? should my dad go on to fill a DS160 form and should we cancel the old appointment and book a new one? what would be the implication of rescheduling? would we need to make new payments?

Every applicant is required to fill the DS-160 Application form. Both of them can schedule appointment together. But must have seperate confirmation code.

TK2014: Good afternoon house, I have been following this trend for a while but unfortunately could not read all comments before the site was attacked. Please i need advise, i went for my Visa interview at Abuja on tuesday with all necessary documents obtained from Doctores para ti, but when interviewed the lady stated that they needed to confirm the letter and receipt submitted and would get back to us. I want to know if anyone has had this experience and how long it took before they reverted back to you. Also when filling the form a wrong email address was inputted. Would they reply via email or would they call.

I'll advice u give them a call today, have your confirmation number and details ready. They would likely tell you to bring your passport soon... Don't wait for them to contact you, do the one to make the calls. You can get the Abuja Consulate number on their website.
