@intending Elpaso peeps, please feel free to explore Ramada or other accommodation. Intown was cheap but the service provided could have been better. The Internet continued to be crappy till I left. When i day crappy, i mean it is like Internet in Nigeria in 2009. So Yea, our current naija Internet is lightyears better than it (you can't stream common YouTube. .... it is that bad.) and security wise, they leave something to be desired. The only plus side is the support you get because there are alot of Mommas. For those at intown, when you have your baby, ask them at the reception if you have a letter from the time you get home because of the SSN. The reception had the funny habit of calling when you have a package or parcel but they won't call when you have a letter and the SSN comes in the form of a letter. It usually arrives in the first week. Hope this helps someone. Cheers! 4 Likes 1 Share |

Hello good people, I am new to this forum. Quite and interesting platform. I am considering going to the US to have my baby. I have contacted and finalized agreement with Dr Z of Oak Bend Medical Center, but I really need a nearby and affordable extended stay place for accommodation. Can anyone who has used this doctor and hospital or is still there give me tips on nearby accommodation to his clinic and the hospital. NB: I have seen people being chided for not reading thru the thread, I have gone through and I keep seeing Highway6 popping up, I checked it online and it seems expensive. Anymore options pleaseeeeee. Thank you. |

Congrats! Yes Maryland/DC/VA is expensive. You should prob have at least 10k but could be more. I think the price you got for Shady Grove + Dr is good if it is 10k total Here are 3 options which are a bit cheaper than the typical DMV prices but still expensive compared to ATL/TX/Chicago popularly used my Nairaland mamas. These are estimates based on standard stay in hospital Virginia Hospital Center. I think they offer a small discount. Call and ask V Delivery: 4400 CS: 6400 Epidural: 1200 C section anaesthetic: 850 Dr Fee - Dr Tchabo (renowned Cameroonian Dr) - discounted self pay rate - 3000 for V, 3300 for CS Ann Arundel Medical Center. They offer 2% discount lol V Delivery: 5617 CS: 7787 Baby Acc Fee: 2000 Anesthesia: 1000 (estimate) Dr Rogers: discounted self pay rate 3000 (this is the lowest priced OB that delivers there. You can find his contact on their site) Inova Alexandria - Thanks @aye88 for the recommendation This is the only hospital I know in DMV that offers significant discount for Self Pay. Prices below are after discount V Delivery: 3701.43 CS: 5292.54 Baby: 1290.06 Dr Ansera: 3000 I also heard PG Hospital is relatively cheap but it depends on how picky you are in terms of service and environment. The reviews are not great. All the best. Pls google for contact info of all parties. Also make sure you ask as many questions. Due to the fact that most DMV hospitals do not have packages, billing is not so straight forward. Also check out the attached spreadsheet by @aye88 Sezbaby: 1 Share |

Thank you for ur response. I appreciate. quote author=kizluv post=29770933] Every hospital/doctor is different, some would accept some/all your test from Nigeria , others won't accept any test done by even a laboratory in the states that they ain't affiliate with.[/quote] |

segbas:Its better if you can get a letter from oakbend med centre, but that said, some american hospitals will not correspond via email for appointments booking, dont know if oakbend does,if they dont, then you are good with Dr Fagbohuns email, since it has an attachment with a compprehensive breakdown of both doctor and hospital fee. Good luck. 1 Like |

Gratefulaheart: I am also a newbie in the group. My destination is New Jersey cus that's where I have family. Houston and Arizona are the most popular destination in this group so you may have to do your research on your own. I have been looking for a New jersey bound mum in May too but not a single response. sorry dear if i didn't help much 1 Like |

@segbas: Yes you can. Send a mail to Cynthia Flores cflores2@obmc.org and request for a breakdown of the hospital OB package list. Remember to write that you have already had discussions with Dr. Fagbohun. Cos each doc has a price he has agreed with the hospital. Its better if you can get a letter from oakbend med centre, but that said, some american hospitals will not correspond via email for appointments booking, dont know if oakbend does,if they dont, then you are good with Dr Fagbohuns email, since it has an attachment with a compprehensive breakdown of both doctor and hospital fee.
