You're right gmcln. All of a sudden NTA, the largest television network in Africa disappeared and was replaced with Etv. Called Comcast and they couldn't even provide a reason why. The customer service rep. said they would look into it and to call back in about a week. We need to stop these people from making decisions like this and not even notifying us about their changes.

why don't you request them to wire the funds back to your account - it usually takes between 24 to 48 hrs. Or you might as well wait for the check to come in as long as it is genuine, you should be able to deposit/cash it in most Nigerian banks.

If you need help in purchasing/sourcing goods, products or services from the US, UK or other online websites and have them sent to you in Nig. I can assist you depending on what you're trying to get as long as they're not banned or prohibited. We've been doing this for a while but only for serious and trusted friends/ family and decided to pass it on NL. Let me know your concerns. Pls serious minded individuals only.

From your post, I'd doubt you have your account linked to a dom. account in Nig. And even if you do, the bank would require you to come in, in person to complete the transaction except on rare occassions like this one depending on your relationship with that particular local branch.
You'd be better off calling your bank's customer service. Goodluck if they can assist you on hearing you would like to withdraw money from your acc over there in the UK to Nig.
Another option you have is to transfer the said amount over the phone or online to a trusted friend or relative's account over there and then they can send you the money through W.U or moneygram or other global money tranfer services.Goodluck man.

That sounds kinda fishy. rerute is absolutely correct, and I'll reiterate to all Nairalanders - No one can assist you in opening or resolving issues with your paypal account other than a paypal customer rep.You can open a paypal account online by whatever means but you might end up losing all the money in that account at the long run if you opened an account inappropriately especially if the country you reside in (or can genuinely proof that you do), does not appear on paypal's list during registration.
FYI, I've been transacting online  for years now including using paypal, its free to open and my account was not opened in Nigeria so I know what I'm talking about. Anyone claiming they can open a paypal account for a fee you should stay away from. Goodluck to anyone who still chooses to do otherwise.

You are correct about not seeing Nigeria as one of the countries listed. If you don't mind me asking, what do you need a paypal account for.

You should be able to open a paypal account, but the issue lies on the address and country you use during sign up when you start making purchases as that will be the only address most sellers will send items/merchandise to - a verified paypal address.
Last time I checked I could not locate Nigeria among the huge list of countries paypal provided. And I'm sure this is because of Nigeria being notorious,  we need to start changing this image both locally and globally.
I've noticed people trying to open accounts for others. Paypal is free to sign up and free to use, the only time you get charged a fee is only if you signed up for a premier or business account and you're receiving funds/payment into your paypal account (which I'm not sure is available to all countries). But most times, most people sign up for an individual account inorder to send funds, make a purchase or complete a transaction.
I'll be starting another post soon regarding paypal issues and if anyone truly needs assistance im making purchases online of which I might be able to help.
