Providence has reached the home of a fish seller who was captured in a video giving little or no attention to COVID-19, claiming that the deadly pandemic is for rich politicians and not a poor hawker like herself.

Hon Ben Igbakpa, member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives took to his official Twitter handle to announce that the fish seller has been found after he had tweeted the video asking for her identity.

The lawmaker, announcing succor for her after his PA on community relations found her in Uvwie LGA of Delta state, wrote;

Thank you all for your support to locate the woman in the video of my last tweet. She has been located in Uvwie Local Government Areas of Delta State. I have initiated all necessary and approved steps to meet her in person, in the safest condition possible. Wadoo! #Okiemute

This is her and her children with my PA (Community Relations). The first thing we noticed is she lives in an incomplete building. I will get her a very decent accommodation where she will live for free. I will also give her enough money to startup a better business.

Celebrities / True Life Experience: Hungry Nigerians Pluck & Eat Unripe Mangoes To Survive by kamanidesmond(m): 2:52pm On Apr 05, 2020
"Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed." - Mahatma Gandhi.

Back in 2015 when peer pressure led me to Accra, the capital of Ghana, I clearly understood that when there’s no gut, there’s no glory.

We lived in Ashoma Estate with little sleep and sometimes once in a day meal. Those who left Nigeria then knew how it was to cross borders to go and “hustle.”

I didn’t lack comfort in Nigeria because as a student then, my allowances from home never delayed and when I demanded money for any necessity, my parents never failed to oblige me.

Armed with a laptop that was later sold to finance my return fare, I went on a three months sojourn of eating mangoes( ripe and unripe) just to survive.

Sometimes, my conscience pricked me about the image that surrounding Ghanaians would create of us. When we were not plucking unripe mangoes or hauling water from long distances, we would be gladly sharing sugar bread to quench hunger on days we could afford 2cedis.

It was not easy and an experience today reminded me of those inglorious days. After observing 5days of COVID-19 stay at home, we channeled the frustration on a tree of mango to quench hunger.

Tradition of the past still in the present.

Crime / Lockdown: Extortion, Brutality Reigns Supreme In Obiaruku (videos) by kamanidesmond(m): 3:14am On Apr 05, 2020
Extortion reigns supreme as men of Anti-cult and vigilante groups, deployed to assist police operatives in the enforcement of stay at home in Ukuwani, are in connivance taking advantage of the situation to victimize citizens.
Registering his displeasure on social media, Enujeke Prosper, lamented the brutalization of a man that went out to buy food at interior AP road in Ukuwani.

According to him, Governor Okowa in his address had permitted food sellers to operate within the precinct of their homes, then why are armed police men and Anti- cult taking advantage of covid-19 to harass, brutalize, victimize and extort money from citizens.

He wrote:

Social distancing and isolation gone wrong in Ukuwani Local Government Delta Sates.

Armed police men and Anti- cult are taken advantage of covid-19 to harass, brutalize, victimize and extort money from citizens who went out to buy, drugs, food stuff, fuel etc if you fail to comply they bundle victims to station.

Governor Okowa in his address Stated that food stuff sellers, pharmacy /chemist can open. I wonder why police are arresting people in this regard.

This incidence happened today at about 2:30pm at interior AP road. The innocent young man went to buy food stuff: fufu, egusi, cryfish, to prepare food for his children, he was chased beaten and his bike ceased despite his explanation as you can see.

The police officers were searching his pocket unlawfully, to check if he has money to bale himself immediately.

My question now is: Is covid-19 inside his pocket?

Obiaruku police need proper orientation on.
1. Aim of the lockdown,
2. How the virus is spread
3. covid-19 generally

This nonsense must stop. The fight is to stop and contain the spread of covid-19 and not otherwise.

Obiaruku police division: Return all the bikes your men unlawfully ceased and stop demanding #10,000 bail immediately.

Nairaland / General / Delta Govt Breaks Silence On Video Of Soldiers Threatening To Rape Warri Women by kamanidesmond(m): 1:55pm On Apr 03, 2020
COVID-19: Warri video clips fake - Delta Govt.

The Delta State Government has described the viral video of soldiers threatening to rape women in Warri as machination of those bent at causing disaffection between Deltans and military authorities.

Debunking the clips, Delta State’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, through a statement issued on Friday in Asaba revealed that the videos were not true representation of happenings in Warri or any part of the state within the last 48 hours.

According to Aniagwu, the video of two soldiers threatening the residents of Warri was an arrangement of those who didn't want the peace of the state, adding that the video was not a true representation of Nigerian military personnels who knew the implication of threatening citizens with such an illicit video.

He also mentioned that the military command that holds the responsibility of deploying military personnels, had debunked the video material.

He said;

"Let me thank Deltans for their cooperation so far and urge them to discard the concocted videos aimed at causing disaffection between the military and Deltans.

"There is no report of killing of soldiers in Warri or any other part of Delta”.

"The concocted videos were aimed at causing disaffection between Deltans and the security agencies carrying out lawful duties”.

"While we appeal to our people to remain law-abiding, it is imperative to state that videos trending in social media are not a true reflection of happenings in the state”.

"We therefore call on our people to discard the videos and continue to remain indoors as directed by the government to enable us curb the possible outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state”.

"As a government we will continue to appeal to the security agencies to apply rules of engagement as practised in most democracies as they carry out their lawful duties." he added.
