Dear XXXXX

This is to inform that the decision on your residence permit application has arrived at the Embassy of Finland in Abuja. The decision can be collected in three ways.

1) Personally with a passport.

2) Authorizing another person to collect with original signed authorization letter with the applicant’s customer number, a copy of the applicant’s international passport and photo ID (international passport, National ID, voters card or driver's license) of the one picking it up.

Send us a copy of your international passport’s data page and a signed authorization letter (with the applicant’s customer number to Finnish Immigration Service) as an email attachment (pdf). After that order the courier company to collect the decision from the Embassy.

I dun dy read debate here since about Finland this and that. It is very simple o nobody force anybody to leave em country o, it's really pathetic when you get free education from a country that owes you nothing and you say ill stuff about the country. If Finland does not work for you go elsewhere nobody glue your nyansh here. Advising ppl to go to Canada or US, the question is can they afford tuition over there. I know folks that moved to Finland and they are doing well and also ppl that schooled in Finland and moved to Australia, Canada, US. For example with a certificate from Aalto university you get an automatic 18 months work visa to Australia if you are under 31, isn't that something. My advice to ppl moving to Finland know what you want, do not settle for less, mix with the right ppl (P.S if you meet person when go dy tell you say professional jobs nor dy after graduation, well just know depression will be your friend). ofcourse it is way easier to school and live in an English speaking country but as we nor get the funds to pay school fees for doz countries shey we go sidon for niaja dy chop grass when we dun get free tuition school (P.S minimum of 10000 euros per year for tuition). We all go dy alright finally wink
May your days be long! Walk and never stumble!

https://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/mondays_papers_intolerant_finland_school_trip_uproar_and_flag_centennial/10225757

'Daily Kauppalehti reports that only a minority of Finnish students abroad plan to return to Finland. Citing a survey by the Finnish National Agency for Education, Kauppalehti writes that about a quarter of the Finns studying abroad intend to come back to their home country after graduation.

Approximately 1,400 students responded to the agency’s survey, while a total of about 8,000 students currently receive funding from Kela, the Social Insurance Institution, for studies outside Finland. The number has doubled within the past 10 years.

After graduation, the place of residence is chosen based on the individual's employment and career outlook, while the country’s general atmosphere is also considered important, Kauppalehti wrote, quoting the agency's Irma Garam. She laments that only 22 percent of Finns studying abroad regard Finland as attractive, and 8 percent deem Finland to be international.

Mostly students are concerned about the lack of career opportunities and poor employment prospects in Finland. In addition, many consider the country to be bigoted, narrow-minded and intolerant.

According to Kauppalehti, the respondents view their countrymen and women as socially inept, cold, unfriendly and stiff. One respondent called Finland xenophobic, bitter, indecisive and regressive, while another said the country was wasting its potential by closing itself from the world and not having the guts to look to the future, Kauppalehti said.'

When they get their eyes opened outside their home that some 'people' are dying to defend. Mental slavery is real. Helsinki/Stockholm syndrome. This is a statistically backed, government-conducted survey not some posts by some illiterate agents with 'reach' sponsors. undecided
The "reach" sponsor thingy was an error to start with and anyone can make typographic error no need to dwell on that. That been said, bros, mention one country in the whole world that operate an open door, let migrants come and take our jobs policy? You think America is the golden boy of the world? or Mapleland (Canada)the best? Check thru history and educate us better and not some already known facts that are in the open.

Besides, life itself is a risk!

@Presiade, God bless you for your post!

He knows better and he had let you know what is happening here.

If you have a professional job there in Nigeria with some years of working experience, please find a way to upgrade yourself and make yourself more marketable and keep abreast to get a better job. With perseverance, diligence and hard work, it can only get better in terms of career. For this set of people, do not come to Finland to pay school fees. Paying nothing less than 7000 euro(almost 3M naira) in an academic year with 20-25hrs/ week while studying its not advisable. Besides, they hardly give a professional job after your graduation even with Finnish language skills. With school fees in mind, you will hardly have savings, my people. You can hardly get a rent that is less than 200 euro/month (80K naira) here. You cant just understand very well if you are not here! But if you insist to leave your professional job to further your education abroad, please move to Australia, Canada or the USA because there is higher prospect to get a job you deserve after years of studying.

Secondly, for people that does not have a job in Nigeria, you can give it a try. I can say that you will surely get atleast a menial job to do after your graduation. I am not saying that there is no professional job but its like one in 1000 cases. I support Presiade on that because I happened to be in Microsoft office recently, I can tell you that out of 1000 workers in there, I was told they have only 2 black guys.

Do not come and invest so much money here while you can afford to go to English-Speaking country. So far you need IELTS to enter University in Finland, please use that also to look for admission in Canada or Australia if you can afford your prospective course of study.

Lastly, in Europe, I can recommend Germany because, with good German language skills, there is a higher chance to get befitting jobs when graduating from their universities.

To those seniors saying leaving Nigeria to study in Finland is good, yes it is. We all know the situation of Naija! The point is that, if you are a good banker, engineer, supervisor etc and you have a good prospect to rise in your career, think well before you leave your job to study in Finland. The point I am trying to drive home is *life after studying in Finland*!

I wish you all my E-family goodluck!
We wanna hear first hand experiences that you have lived in Canada, US and even Australia. You think in Nigeria, 200k job makes you comfy? How many hundred thousand graduates can raise their hands of getting 200k jobs? And besides, I shudder when you always assumes its all about making money abroad! What happens to living in a society where things, amenities actually work? Like I dont have to burn gas to type this message! Like I get medical at no cut throat cost?

Good points you have raised but I have a few questions.

These countries you recommended, have you lived in any of them and got job easily? Or the advise is based on hearsay? Also can you also give us the cost of living and studying in those countries as you have done for Finland? That makes it easier for people to choose

And lastly, the Microsoft office you visited, I’m assuming it’s in Finland and they only have two black guys there out of bout 1000 employees, does that mean the rest are Finns or other countries?
Valid points you have raised! O ya, analysts, come and defend your points!

I laugh in Finnish! Some folks come here and talk abt how tough some countries are especially Finland etc, and that its easier to make it in the US, if only you knw how many folks rely on doctored SoA to get admission and F1 visas only to get stranded in God's own country. Some got rescued by Prodigy Finance whilst some fall out of status. Ask many and you will be surprised. Lets stick to the hustle and stop demarketing countries trying to give hope to the rather would have been hopeless if they had stuck here in Nigeria. Moreover, its not by force, you can always board the nxt flight back home kwa! Peace

Two Yoruba proverbs-
1) A dog that would get lost would not hear the whistle of the hunter.

2) It is better to learn from the experience of others than to learn from your own experience.

I have seen goals wasted and dreams shattered in a land where most enlightened, great, and determined minds depart after seeing and analyzing things. Of course, the weak minded would settle, they have no choice. A wise person won't waste words unnecessarily.

Yes, Finnish Universities have introduced tuition. If you can afford it, Please pay. You will have opportunities to work and you can recoup your investment in the end.

Best of luck.

1. These seats are not first class seats of the Lagos-Kaduna trains. I have been in them so I know. The only time the first class seats are"headed" is when the the train leaves the Idu station in Abuja. Some seats are reserved for passe. Gers at Kubwa station. But this is not the first class coach

2. Those seats are not empty. You see them from the back and think so because the chairs are large and you can seat in them and be totally covered

3. The problem of people standing is due to corrupt officials who sell even after being out of tickets. I remeber during my trip, theu collected cash from some people.

4. Some managers were recently fired for doing 3 above.

5. More coaches are needed along with more trips; this is the only thing that can stop ticketers collecting money after the tickets have been sold out. If passengers know if they miss the 7am train, there is another at 11am and 4pm, they will be less inclined to pay to stand. Also if there are more coaches, there will be more seats for people
People are seated on the seats, don't mind the OP, you can see from the second picture that the attendant was busy attending to someone and if you look at the 3'O clock on the picture, you will see arms of men showing. The OP is definitely an attention seeker!

What is best is relative to each subscriber. It is not a universal experience. I use Glo and inspite of the occasional bleep ups I experience with them from time to time, I find Glo to be both cost effective and fast depending on location and whether I’m using it during off-peak hours.I’ve downloaded a 6 gig file with Glo (on 3g) and it took me just 3 hours because I did it during off peak period.

The thing with Glo is, when they’re good, they’re very good, but when they’re bad, they’re worse than the stinkiest s.h-i.t.

I have a love/hate relationship with them.

I can't agree less...... I use glo and you said it the way it is...love/hate relationship!
